One Sequel Too Many

Sequels to an original are rarely as good and this one fitted that category. It reminded me of the Mama Mia movie but not quite as enjoyable. The story seemed to lack some spark and felt predictable. Toward the end I was wondering how much longer it was going.

Having said all that, it wasn't terrible either. My wife enjoyed it more than I did but she is rarely disappointed by a movie. So for some it will be good, for me just OK but lacked a spark that gave the impression it was one sequel too many.

Overall it lacked originality and the script gave the impression the writers were out of ideas.

Love The Series

I have watched the show on New Zealand television and have recently been given a boxed set of many I missed viewing. I have found the show most interesting and informative.

It is the sort of thing I would like to do but realistically won't be doing so this is the closest I will get to the train journeys he undertakes. There really are some interesting train rides around the world and the series opened my eyes to that.

He has a relaxed attitude even when things don't go to plan. He is also friendly in manner to those he meets.

I would recommend the show to anyone who loves travel, and of course, especially for those who are fascinated by trains.

Well Worth A Viewing

My wife really wanted to see this movie and it was just a case of if we watched it together or not. We went along as a duo as the actors and previews gave me a good impression. In addition, the story writer had first hand experience of the subject.

The acting was excellent, both realistic and genuine. The costumes were colourful and the scenes accurate. The storyline was reasonably fleshed out.

In these times of cultures coming together with immigration and travel, it is a subject that has become a part of modern society. It will break down some predudices on both sides of the cultural divide.

Seriously Red (2022)

Disappointed

The idea was alright but my wife and I found the execution was poor. The characters had a crassness about them that we didn't find endearing. The sex scenes were tacky but then maybe that is what they are in the kind of situations that were portrayed.

The storyline had a valid message but how it was developed was ordinary to say the least. We didn't leave the cinema glad we had taken the time to watch it. We usually review movies positively as we want to see the good in the movie and the work that goes into it. This movie wasn't up to a standard that we found a level of worth to recommend to others.

Much Better Than I thought

I like Lee Mack's humour but his being a host of a game show? It would not be an easy show to make funny as many of the gags are spontaneous, something right up his street.

I have watched the first episode and both myself and my wife enjoyed it. The questions are varied and lateral thinking is helpful for some of them. It is not to be taken too seriously and for those wanting a serious IQ show will be disappointed. Entertainment is the whole point of the show.

I did feel sorry for those who lost out early on an had to sit through the whole show but they must have known the format beforehand.

Didn't Know What To Expect

It was by chance of circumstance that I ended up accompanying my wife to this movie. She gave me an overview of the story and for a older male it wasn't the sort of movie that would normally appeal to me.

The storyline was relatively simple but what I liked was the acting and the morale of the tale. Working class people dreaming about wanting something special, despite it not necessarily being practical.

The clashes in ideologies that occurred were not intense and were resolved. It would not be a movie for the worldly wise cynic but it will for those who see the magic in an unlikely plot. I didn't know I had that in me.

How to Build (2020–2021)

Fascinating Insight

Most of us will never tour a car plant but this is a chance to do so. The narration is clear and each step is clearly explained. I particularly enjoyed the hand built cars as there is more variety in the processes.

The Void (I) (2021)

Reasonable Entertainment

My wife and I found it a reasonably entertaining show. It has a format not unlike Wipeout but done indoors and not as expansive. The degree of difficulty is high but a few manage to do surprisingly well. The presenters are more like excited spectators and they don't do funny comments but at the same time don't come across as trying too hard to be something they are not.

An Excellent TV Series

I recall watching it each week in New Zealand. At times it seems to meander along a bit and the second episode I didn't like. However, it captures the Greek culture nicely and builds to quite a finale.

Real Reality TV

I have just finished watching the series and found myself looking forward to each episode. I don't watch reality shows because there is so little reality to them. This was gritty, tough and pushing ordinary people out of their comfort zone, and giving them a new perspective in life.

The one negative thing for me was only the winners got a reward. I thought the three finalist couples could have each got something, graduated third to first in the amount.
