Black Widow (2021)
Give it a Shot!
Yeah, it might be more gritty and dark than most Marvel movies, but it keeps it fresh. It's different and exciting. Surprisingly funny, too, especially Yelena and Red Guardian. The beginning was a bit slow, but it starts to pick up later. I just wish this would've been put out before the character was dead.
The Scorpion King: Book of Souls (2018)
Not unbearable
There were some pretty predictable parts. It's cheesy and the characters are one-dimensional, but it doesn't take itself too seriously. There are some awkward attempts at humor. But if you like camp and B movies, you might like it. I probably wouldn't watch it again, but it was alright. The only character I liked was Tasa.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Criminally underrated
Definitely deserved to be a blockbuster. A great female role model, immersive CGI, excellent music, adrenaline-pumping action, and creative environment. Honestly, enjoyed it much more than the manga.
Alien Xmas (2020)
Surprisingly great!
Don't know why it was rated Y, but it was surprisingly cute and hilarious. I expected it to be pretty stupid, but it was great.
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)
A breath of fresh air
Watched this after seeing pictures on Tumblr. It was great to see a holiday movie with POC represented in it. It has a cool steampunk feel with vibrant costumes and applause worthy effects. Frankly, the singing got a little annoying for me, but I'm biased because I'm not much of a musical fan. It was also kind of long and some parts felt awkwardly executed, but it'll definitely be a classic for sure! Give it a shot.
The Old Guard (2020)
Just alright
Should have been way more interesting. Lots of the time the pop music did not fit and some of the dialogue was kind of painful and unnatural. It wasn't terrible though. I didn't hate it.
Ultraviolet (2006)
Actually pretty entertaining
Yeeeah, the CG isn't the best and some scenes and lines were pretty laughable, but the over-the-top, surreal imagery, music, and action were great. I honestly want more. I enjoyed Violet and Six.
Æon Flux (2005)
Meh
After watching the cartoon, I find this movie to be pretty unpolished. At least in the character department. The dystopia and psychological stuff is all there, as well as the bizarre gadgets and atmosphere.
I found the "You have a choice" stuff kind of cheesy.
The characters are too black and white, while they're supposed to be all different shades of gray. Aeon's complex personality wasn't completely shown (mainly her sarcastic, playful, and flirty sides). She was very watered down, which was a disappointment. And Trevor Goodchild was... Too good.
The beginning was pretty good, though. I feel like it should have been longer or something.
There were parts that I liked. But would I watch it again? Probably not.
DC Super Hero Girls (2015)
Not Bad, Not Great
Cute but kinda typical design of the girls. Personalities are kinda watered down. Episodes need to be MUCH longer. (V_V) Like - c'mon. Please at least TRY. The characters are cute, though. While it is kind of odd that villains and anti-heroes are there (Killer Frost, Cheetah, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Poison Ivy), it's obvious that this in it's own universe. And Ivy used to be shy and doesn't like dealing with people in this show. So she's not COMPLETELY out of character. She DOES love science. As for it only being for girls? ... While the title says it, male characters appear at the school, as well. I'm quite pleased to see the voice actors for Beast Boy (Greg Cipes), Starfire (Hynden Walch), and Harley Quinn (Tara Strong) return for this one. While it is kinda weak at times... To be honest, I think it's kinda cute and fun at times (mainly because of Harl, but...), even as a DC comics/games/movie fan. Not as bad as everyone says. I'm glad it's still running and actually improving.
