STRAIGHT UP TRASH! It's 100% Disrespectful to ALL WOMEN!
18 April 2023
Watching the 1st episode of the new season I was SHOCKED at the level of vulgarity of these characters. How on earth did this get approved to be on air, even if it is HBO it's not ok, it's never ok, to disrespect black women in particular, like this on television. The writers are hacks, going for juvenile minds and easy laughs and Robin Thede, being biracial has totally disrespected her ADOS mother.

It's a sin and a disgrace and I grew up with Red Foxx, Richard Pryor and Mom's Mablely... I'm no prude but I'm no fool either. There is no way they could do a show like this about the community that shall not be mentioned but it IS ok to drag Black American women?

Apparently so.

I LOVED IT! I'm from B'more and I GET IT!
12 April 2023
Mo doesn't have to justify her choice of material and she's a bit old to stand around telling jokes like an amateur.

She's a grown woman telling grown woman life experiences. The people that can't understand that were never in her corner and aren't her crowd anyway. I'm glad she went into (small) details about Lee Daniels and the other names she dropped.

Another thing: I wouldn't judge her about her use of language , she talks how she talks. If she had an immigrant accent no one would say a word but Baltimore, B girl vernacular, especially back then, Black English WAS/IS A THING whether other people like it or not.

It doesn't matter - she wasn't talking 2u, she was talking TO ME so if you didn't get it or didn't like it, that's why. Every thang ain't for every body but folks insist on inserting themselves in the culture anyway.

Lopez vs. Lopez (2022– )

This is the FUNNIEST SHOW ON TV!
19 December 2022
'Lopez vs Lopez' is the FUNNIEST SHOW on tv right now!

I couldn't get any work done yesterday - I was ROLLING and literally crying in one scene I laughed so hard! I'm a baby boomer, ADOS and grew up with real comedians and George Lopez has always been one of my favorites. He's outdone himself here though!

They have a little boy on there that's a stone cold trip and such a great actor. NO SPOILERS and that's all I can say.

I can't believe the ratings are only a 5.5.... People are saying it's funny then give it a 5 or 6? I see the same with Black movies and shows too so don't let them dissuade you.

George Lopez is a comedic writing genius and this show is funny as hell. Give them a ten and give it a watch. I promise, if you're having a bad day, you'll forget about it!

Worse Drivel I've Ever Seen. How did she get a tv show?
21 October 2022
I never give bad reviews, I just don't have the heart normally but I feel like a warning is necessary. This is SO BAD I can't even understand (unless she's related to someone in the industry because she looks like she would be)... this is terrible.

Let me say something nice: Multicultural Cast.

Other than that, the writing is ok but predictable. I just feel cheated because so many really good shows get canceled and this crap was on the air for 2 seasons and probably got picked up again.

The way she looks at the camera like the young pretty girl on Grown-ish, is... ugh, i want to throw up a little bit in my mouth. She just isn't the one to pull this off. I understand it's a copy of a British tv show and I don't know what that actress looked like but there's got to be someone else that for this role.

Yecch.

EXCELLENT! I LOVED IT!
28 August 2022
First - let me say normally I don't care for the comedy of Kevin Hart. The only movie I've like of his is 'True Story' which wasn't a comedy. So I'm not a 'fan' but I do love authentic documentaries and I'm glad he took the time to put together this work.

As a 62yr old woman who lived thru most of the subject matter, I only saw 2 inaccuracies (1 by omission which is probably due to 'creative license' so the material flows the way they want it to) but other than that...

SLAM DUNK! You will end up watching both episodes in one sitting especially if you're a boomer and remember the comedy records fondly in your grandmother's house! The interesting inside info on Mom's Mabley for example and a look into the life behind the scenes of Paul Mooney - it's an excellent documentary. Keven Hart with John Amos as executive producers did an excellent job!

Good Movie! Love the Cast!

I thought it was great seeing all those old familiar faces together in a contemporary real life situation in middle class America. Anyone can relate to the story line - I kept thinking this could be on NCIS or SWAT!

Realistic and Heartwarming Family Show
1 March 2022
I love this show for one reason: Black People Are American Too!

This seems to be the point of confusion between the old and new version with others saying the new version is too 'political' and talking about what was going on at the time is too heavy for a sitcom... huh? 'sitcom' means 'situation comedy' does it not? There's no reason to separate their 'situation' from the real life that middle class black people led at the time.

Instead of attacking the so called 'politics' (they are black - they ain't changing and they aren't going anywhere!) how about sitting back and learning something about people you don't normally associate with?

The Wonder Years is a good way to do it!

This movie is a *10* and Will Smith will get an Oscar for this role. Venus and Serena and their other 3 sisters were very lucky to have parents like theirs.

Watching AGAIN but reviewed a YEAR AGO!
21 November 2021
This is a great movie! It's aggravating, annoying, intense, emotional, terrifying and sad all at the same time.

It's so sad that people rating this movie are so heartless - it's based on a true story and they are saying this boy's life isn't interesting enough for them...

Humanity sucks - this movie is GREAT! Don't go by the ratings.

Watch it COLD without reading anything about it!
29 July 2021
All the heavy hitters (actors) were in it and one thing I thought was ironic and I appreciated seeing was the poster of Sonny Liston on the wall of the priest's rectory, played by Robert De Nero who, also played a boxer in another movie called Raging Bull! I thought that was kinda cool. But Brad Pitt at the end surprised me. Also Dustin Hoffman & Kevin Bacon was in it, who else? Lots of heavy hitters, great acting. It's a good movie - horrible subject matter but I'm glad they put it on the big screen. I had never seen/heard of it before, (1996) the title is the same/similar to a sci fi movie back in the day and it caught me off guard.

Warning: Spoilers
SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR SHOULD NOT BE SHOWN AS A SEXUAL PREDILICITION. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THOSE WRITERS? This isn't a 'spoiler' it's a WARNING TO DECENT PEOPLE AND FOLKS THAT CARE ABOUT THEIR TEENS/KIDS.

Who else was STRAIGHT UP OFFENDED that those sexually deviant freaks and sociopathic weirdos put that bizarre cutting ritual into our heads and the heads of the children/teens that watch that show? What In The Entire Hell Was That? I had to fast forward a coupla three times and I shouldn't have to. I read the book, watched the movie and never ONCE was that bloodletting fantasy ever mentioned. The lack of censors in the media but the 100% OVER THE TOP censorship with regard to spoken and written words is INCREDIBLY BASS ACKWARDS and stupid. How come I didn't hear or read any outrage about encouraging suicidal behavior as a sexual 'option?' Bunch of damn demons. Just like 'Shameless' I'll be dropping it from my watch list.

Warning: Spoilers
I liked the concept of the film because to my knowledge, it hasn't been done before. It's nice to see something different for a change, especially when it comes to the 'white cop shoots innocent civilian minding his business, covers it up, never charged, gets away with murder' story day in and day out. Victims families talk about they want 'answers' to something that's already clear.

This movie gives a different answer and I'm glad to see someone had the guts to make it.

I knew it was an August Wilson story before I knew it was an August Wilson story!
1 January 2021
The acting was FANTASTIC from beginning to end and it was nice to see Mr Chadwick Boseman doing his thing on the big screen again! May he rest in peace.

I highly recommend everyone watch just this snapshot into ONE DAY in the life of a successful black woman trying to make it in a white man's country AND how black men have to come up with various coping mechanisms to deal with the systemic racism and brutality of their oppressors. Sometimes they snap on the people around them.

It is what it is.

FINALLY A FAMILY FRIENDLY TV SHOW!
7 June 2020
I enjoyed the series; it checked off all my boxes:

♥multicultural cast ♥no heterosexual sex scenes ♥no homosexual scenes ♥no grisly violence ♥lots of action ♥no socially manipulative agenda

The only thing I thought was weird was as no matter how much danger the characters were in, there were no body guards or security present to protect them! That was a writing flaw that was pointed out at the end of the series, last scene - SPOILER ALERT HINT: Pay attention to the tshirt!

More Social Engineering from HollyWeird...
29 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I almost turned it off halfway thru but I was curious as to WHY 'stars' like Terry Crews and Ludacris who have mad money already would even do it. Then I figured it out... more social engineering to influence ADOS Black people into helping illegals from Honduras, Nicaragua and other Latin American countries when they come to the US. Even if it means giving them large sums of money to help them get settled comfortably in the country that WE BUILT, protecting them from danger, sheltering and feeding them, fighting for them against your own people when necessary, getting your home shot up, having your parent(s) risk their lives and die for them and ultimately, YOU TOO SHOULD DIE protecting illegal immigrants to America.

That was the point of the entire movie. The girl's entire contribution to the two ADOS men that protected her was this: she drew a picture of their dog.

I like this show... I really do but now I remember how come I don't watch it much. It's because I can find out every single thing it's about just watching their extensive trailer before the show.

After seeing that there's hardly any reason to watch.

Straight up TRASH!
2 November 2019
WHY? How difficult is it to get first hand and historical accounts and stick to THAT SCRIPT? What on earth is to be gained by taking a larger than life figure, a real person and throwing in random people and events that never happened?

If you want to see a REAL MOVIE on Harriet Tubman, look at the Cicely Tyson version: A Woman Called Moses.

This show is TOO GOOD TO LAST LONG!
15 September 2018
I can't remember seeing a more honest tv show about a contemporary African problem (rogue warlords) and the way white people in the west make a very good living taking 10 to 20 years 'bringing them to justice' and pulling political and economic strings to get those cushy jobs ...

The beautiful lead character plays a Rwandan that barely escaped the genocide. She is reared in the UK by a liberal white adoptive mother who is also a criminal prosecutor for the ICC in the Hague. Her daughter is totally against prosecuting the only 'hero' in the war and it is creating conflict in the family with discourse and dialogue on both sides of the genocide issue that I personally have never heard in public before. They leave no stone unturned in this show, also giving an overview of worthless UN peacekeepers and the French army, still in Rwanda.

What I like/LOVE about this show though, is they don't give you the answer.

They present all sides and let you sort thru it yourself and come to your own conclusion. I hope it's not snatched off the air. It's very political and I'm very surprised it even made it on screen for one episode. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series and I hope that the BBC doesn't capitulate to the puppetmasters that control the media and pull the plug on this early.

Fingers crossed!
