In Search of the Perfect Human Diet (2012)
Well Researched! and High Production Quality
If you set aside your programming of the last 30 years of what should be the western diet and allow yourself to be taught, you will see the clear logic of science showing through. Real science with double blind studies over a long term are totally lacking in the area of nutrition an diet. The modern western diet is based on opinion and very weak associational studies. This documentary uses real science and a rigorous review of the archaeology and anthropologic record to reveal the real diet of humans that permitted us to excel in obtaining high energy food which led to brain development setting us at the top of the food chain.
Live Free or Die (2014)
My favorite show on TV
I enjoy this show very much and hope that Nat Geo will bring in a 4 year of the series and many more. It's very enjoyable to see people who have the guts and the brains to detach from the "regular life" and live a life more free of the modern stresses. I can't do it myself but if I were 20 or 30 again I would definitely give it a go.
Hunting Hitler (2015)
Very Interesting even if you believe Hitler died in the Berlin Bunker
I believe that I am better versed on the history of WWII than most. However I am amazed at the extent of the Nazi network and infrastructure this program has uncovered in South America. The so called Rat Lines in South America that Hitler's high command developed would cost 100's of millions to replicate today. So even if you accept the orthodoxy of Hitler's suicide in Berlin in 1945 this show is still very interesting and well worth watching.
The Last Alaskans (2015)
Probably my favorite show on TV
Great Photography, real people. A really fine portrayal of life in the wilderness of Alaska. It takes real guts to leave everything behind and face the Alaska winter while living 100's of miles from Doctors, Phone lines, Electricity, or even a gallon of milk. Everyone should watch a few episodes of this show to get in touch with the reality of life without modern conveniences. I for one hope this show continues for many years.
Star Trek: Renegades (2015)
A sad effort, wooden acting, disassociated plot elements
Pretty much like a 2nd rate SyFy Channel made for TV movie, with better CGI effects. Really glad that I did not pay money to see this! Made my popcorn go stale before it was half over. Most of the lines in this hack must have been read from chalkboards just over the shoulder of the person with his or her back to the camera. So much jumpiness in the plot that it seemed as if the bits of the film had been cut to the floor while editing, then swept up with a hoover and reassembled by kids in the daycare around the corner.
Nice to see a few of the old Star Trek faces but what the hell is the assassin guy from the original star wars doing in this movie? You know the guy with the metal helmet that looks like it's long enough to enclose a horse's nose. Oh well, I guess it must have been another bit of film swept up from the cutting floor, just from the wrong movie.
