Fool Me Once (2024)
Really good,really enjoyed it.
First off,I don't read reviews and base what I watch on others views and opinions.
That would be a boring world.
We enjoyed this immensely.
A great cast,Welcome to the Big Time Michelle Keegan, she nailed this role, and it's great too see.
Richard Armitage is under utilised in my opinion,as he's a superb actor.
You expect it to go one way and certain characters to switch from good to bad but it does a 180 and catches by surprise.
Adeel Akhtar as the lead detective and his subsequent side story was great too.
Being told that the main house used for filming was the Shelby home from Peaky blinders had me booking an appointment at Specsavers.
Stevie wonder could have sorted that.
😂
The Night Agent (2023)
Thoroughly enjoyable.
We binged watched the 10 episodes in just under a week.
I have to have,we really enjoyed them.
Some characters need could skip season 2 in my opinion, But Peter and Rose carried this on their backs. Two young upcoming stars in the making here.
Hats off to Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan they've started something here.
It's not Jack Ryan but it's got potential, and with season 2 showing here on IMDB. It looks like they got a chance to further and expand the story.
Well done folks.
I'm looking forward to season 2.
Will we get Europe-Asia-Middle east?
Will we get more in depth info on the night agents?
I hope so.
Prey (2022)
Throughly enjoyable movie.
I honestly couldn't not find anything not to like about this movie.
There have been so many unanswered questions about the Apex predator species these past 30+ years.
This movie doesn't answer any of them, but it is a welcomed addition to the franchise, and it gives the franchise a new transfusion.
I really hope to see another movie.
But we should be looking to the species next, the home world, the culture.
It would take 10 rooms of writers to come up with a satisfying insight into these magnificent hunters.
Are they like family orientated?
Do they care for their offspring?
Or is it a kill or be killed environment?
Do they love? Are they nomads?
What's their home world like?
Or is their soul purpose to hunt, kill and collect the biggest trophies?
But back to the movie.
I loved it.
9/10.
Lightyear (2022)
Why all the negativity? We loved every second of it.
An absolute treat.
Myself and my 5 year old sat and watched in awe.
From start to finish it didn't fail to entertain.
Some will complain that the lack of Tim Allen as the voice of Buzz takes something away.
Nah,it does no such thing.
To be fair,I did think of Captain America a little when I heard him talk lol.
But honestly, make your own judgement and don't read the negative nellies.
P....s....Sox is sensational.
Star Trek: Picard: The Star Gazer (2022)
It's Picard.Enough said.
I've looked over the reviews from 1-5 stars and thought "why can't these people just be happy to see Jean Luc back after all this this?"
The man rebuild a franchise, well Mr Stewart did,but you get what I'm saying.
The next generation is gone, and honestly I'm not sure where Star Trek goes after this, but I'll enjoy every shred of nostalgia that this series throws at me.
Time is that fire in which we burn, and we may not have many years of Mr Stewart left,so let's enjoy it,embrace that second chance to see this legendary character again.
Stop complaining and micro analysing it.
Just turn off your brains, sit back, relax and bask in it.
Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)
Just no......
Ashes to ashes dust to dust......this movie is why I'm unable to trust.
Complete disregard for the first movie.
No continuity.
Zero plot.
Best line is as above.....ashes to ashes dust to dust,if you don't take it out and use it,it's going to rust.
The Blacklist (2013)
8 seasons strong and I wish we could have 20.
From the pilot to where I am now(season 8 episode 17)This has been possibly the most enjoyable series I've ever watched.
The chemistry between the characters is what drew me in.
Red and Dembe is my personal favourite, there is so much more we could see here. A prequel from the time Red rescued Dembe to present day would be my personal preference, tying in The Blacklisters we have seen throughout the 8 seasons,as well as seeing Raymond building his empire.
Harry Lennix is my other reason to watch, the man is a sensational talent, himself and James Spader are two of the finest actors to grace our tv screens.
Yes I am a Blacklist fan and this might seem like a biased review, but trust me....just watch season 1.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
Laughed,Cried,Laughed again,Cried sone more.
I throughly enjoyed this movie.
The characters have a beautiful depth.
It's brilliantly written and directed.
It shows the dark idiotic extremes of the era,the propaganda driven BS that tore the world apart.
It's filled with some hilarious moments, some really heartbreaking scenes, but it's all part of what I can safely say,is one best movies I've seen in years.
I wish I'd watched it sooner.
Thank you Mr Waititi.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
EXCELLENT🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What can I say? Other than I've just picked my jaw up from the floor in awe of what I've witnessed.
Yes I'm a fan, since 1992.
And to see this version of Scorpion on screen stole the show for me.
The array of video game favourites will not disappoint even non fans will surely appreciate this.
Kano(simply brilliant performance and one of the stand out performances). Sub Zero is simply ice cold(pun intended).
Just sit back and switch off your phone, press play and enjoy.
Best 16.99 I've spent this year.
Sequel x 3 please🙌🏻
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Truth (2021)
My favourite episode so far.
So far so good.
This episode to me was the best so far. It touched on real world problems and Marvel are not shying away from these issues. It's refreshing to see.
Bucky has come so far as a character, it's good to see part of the old Bucky we saw leaving Steve(pre serum) at the Stark Expo.
I cannot wait to see Sam's new suit,Fresh from Wakanda. That and the shield will be an iconic moment. And yes......Sam Wilson is our New Captain America.
I really hope that we get a season two. Captain America and The White Wolf sounds good to me.
I personally hope to see Isaiah Bradley in combat.
The loss of BattleStar before we got to see more of this character was a big big loss but it was the catalyst to John Walker(bad cap arch).
P.s Bucky eying up Sarah was a nice touch too.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Looks like Bono is not the most talented in the family then 😂
Thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish.
Eve Hewson stands out in her role, as not many actresses could achieve the level of intensity that she has here. I see a future Oscar winner here. Simona Browne was brilliant also start to finish she impressed 👏🏻
Tom Batemans Scottish accent was hit and miss 😂😂but don't let that stop you enjoying 6 hours of highly entertaining TV.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: The Whole World Is Watching (2021)
Best episode so far.
Wyatt Russell is absolutely killing it(no pun intended lol)I cannot see why people are hating on the man. No he is not Chris Evan or Steve Rogers.
He's a totally different character, and has no control over the character. Relax and enjoy it,he's not CAP. No one ever will be. The story is meant to show the other side of the coin,Perfect soldier but not a good man. And show how easy it would be to lose yourself when trying to measure up to a legend. Jealousy and now revenge are now his driving factors. I cannot wait to see the End Game.
The last two episodes are gonna be breath taking.
Bucky,Sam and Zemo have all nailed it so far,Wakandan appearances and references have been a welcome added bonus.
Kingdom (2014)
Masterpiece is an understatement.
I've written a few reviews on here.
But this one is from the heart.
This show doesn't disappoint, the cast can actually act,the scrips are superb, the fighting is realistic.
Some of the most in-depth characters you'll find.
Alvey played by the superb Frank Grillo is a tough father, tough old school dude, but you gotta love him for his no bull attitude.
Jay.....well here's a character played by Jonathan Tucker, this guy has some serious demons, but is such a charismatic dude and the audience fell in love with him from episode 1.
I could write for hours on all the cast but you need to watch this, and we need a Season 4-5-6-7.
Make it happen.
New Girl (2011)
The Schmidt Show.
I didn't think I would like this show,it was recommended by a friend.
But wow was I wrong.
Schmidt the man,the myth ,the legend.
Funniest man on tv,his dance moves, his personality and facial expressions will have you in tears laughing ,and nope I'm not wrong.
Cleverly written,clean,not trashy,not obscene.
Proving you can have an entertaining and extremely funny tv show with using the F-word or lowering the tone with obscenities.
Refreshingly good and I've still
3 seasons to go.
Sad it has ended.
But please just give it shot....Schmidt will not let you down lol.
Flight of the Navigator (1986)
Loved it in the 80,Love it in the 20s too.
Timeless and has held up well over the years.
Even my 3 year old loves it.
Will always be a personal favourite.
Justice League (2017)
Loved it but......
You know when you waited 18 months between Batman Vs Superman and you google for set pics, news, photos of characters, spoilers.Any small inkling into what I was hyped up so much for and finally when the finished product comes out you feel satisfied yet your feel like you've been mugged, teabagged and literally had the WB big wigs laugh in your face?
Well yes this is how I feel.
I gave it a 10/10 because Mr Snyder and his vision made sense,it was all coming together until well, the cuts happened.
Movie was trimmed,cut,chopped,compressed,lacked depth.
I absolutely loved the characters, cannot fault the actors or their costumes and performances.
Seeing more of Gotham and the glorious skyline was one of only a few satisfying aspects.
I feel WB owe the fans big,and I mean a massive massive debt.
They need to up their game and give in to the original vision of Zack.
The 2 hour 45 min Snyder cut will never happen,it's a hard pill to swallow. It for this fan it's unforgivable what the studio have done.
Damo & Ivor: The Movie (2018)
Laughed til I cried then laughed some more.
The movie world needed this,Ireland needed this. And it didn't disappoint.
From start to finish I laughed,my sides are still sore.
We attended the premiere and had been anticipating this movie since the last episode of the hit tv series introduced the 3rd brother.....simply brilliant.
Irish cinema has been lacking movies like this with humour, heart,a lurcher,a camper van, crusty socks,Grano and none stop bad language, with an Irish cast who have done us proud.
Well done to all.
And here's to,and hoping for a sequel......great work folks.
Life of Pi (2012)
Beautiful Movie.
I had to watch this movie twice to grasp the true beauty of the story and the amazing visual masterpiece that it truely is.
You cannot help but love the characters even if Richard Parker is a CGI tiger,he cannot be tamed but the mutual respect between the two is amazing and shows that's they both needed one another in order to survive.
It is a must see and it will not disappoint in any way.
The Dark Knight (2008)
Spectacular.
What else would you expect from Christopher Nolan.
Every detail big and small from start to finish are superb. The story is always one step ahead of you as usual from Mr Nolan and his team.
Christian Bale was always the right choice to play The Dark Knight with his dedication to his roles unmatched by most. Then there's the irreplaceable Heath Ledger who portrayed the joker like no other man could.Whether you watch it one or ten times you'll be blown away by this timeless blockbuster.
