A reading of the Korean film (broker)
10 July 2022
The story of the film is about the future and write waiting for me I am an abandoned in society, show how to embrace this kind of person, for the child is lucky to have good parents, good rate is very low Throughout the film we see several scenes, one of which is interesting when a woman and a man want to pick up the baby asking (how was it born?? Is it the product of my rape??).

I think people have an endless cup of love throughout their lives, everyone as the stages of life puts a part of love into the cup of everyone, but what fills the most important part is the love of family members, especially parents But when an individual sees that the most important people in his life have abandoned him, in the future he will always feel a gap in his heart, a weakness and an incompleteness that the love of all people on earth cannot fill.

The message of the film is a beautiful message. It tells us that when you think about starting a family, you must be ready to take responsibility He's a human being and you might make him a hell.

First of all, EVENTS did not so much repeat itself, and its watchable.
10 May 2021
Long dramas or "soaps" have their own kind of fans. Not everyone can endure such long detailed movies.

The drama characterize the reality. They put real life problems into something to watch. Not every one might watch these kinds of events because it really reminds them with the THE real issues out there.

The show is very interesting, its out of the cliché storylines we usually watch.

Its full of cliffhangers in each and every episode . Something you might expect and somethings you wont expect.

The characters always develop into new phases. Monologues and dialogues did not repeat itselves, The music was very good actually. Osts always contribute much to the drama. And it actually grows on u. U feel humming the music wherever you are.

The story line itself, is a bit interesting, no memory loss, no one comes back to life, no body switch.

It is not re-watchable though, it will be well predictable if you wanna rewatch it. It will be easily hints spoilers cz u will never forget what happened. Its because the kind of reality characterization.

If you are not into long dramas, haven't watched any yet and you wanna start watching soaps, don't start with this one. Find yourself a 50 long episode or maybe a 30. If you are a first timer you will be sort of bored. BUT I LIKE this one so much. I cried, i laughed, plotted schemes with the characters, shouted with them. And i had my closures as well.

The Closet (2020)
9/10
overall the acting was great and I'm looking forward to what Yi Na comes out with next, that precious baby is really talented~
8 May 2021
For a movie that's only 1 hour and a half long, this wasn't bad, but it might've needed a little more emotional substance. They didn't stress enough how "bad" the relationship between Yi Na and her dad was, tbh it just felt like common sadness, and the dad was a workaholic who tried to make excuses to leave his daughter for a couple of months because he didn't know how to deal with the loss of his wife, and basically they just needed therapy not a new house ;) anyway it took them a few days or less for Yi Na to act "weirdly" and a few days later she went missing, so there was not much buildup.

I personally used to be a scardy cat and I don't know if I'm just older now or movies lost their fear factor, but this was heartbreaking rather than scary. Especially with the background story of what started it all.

And speaking of how it all started it felt quite basic, plus it was resolved very simply and it didn't need the dramatic fight scenes.

And they only spent a few seconds on the other kids but I think that'd have been the breaking point for them, I honestly teared up on that subject but then it was suddenly over.

I also feel like they could've built a beautiful bromance and connection, tbh Kyung Hoon came in the picture, said 1 thing about why he's doing this and boom they were working and solving what took him 10 or so years to solve. There was no anticipation, no foundation.

Overall the acting was great and I'm looking forward to what Yi Na comes out with next, that precious baby is really talented~

Space Sweepers is a fun popcorn adventure with deeper themes
19 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Highly-anticipated space opera Space Sweepers, originally slated for last summer, just released worldwide, and it's exactly what I needed at this moment. South Korea's first space sci-fi movie is set in a dystopian future where Earth is dying and the only place left to colonize is up, its world rife with the inequality that always accompanies imperial expansion. The film feels vast, expensive, thrilling, and gives me strong Cowboy Bebop vibes, which will never not be a good thing.

Directed by Jo Sung-hee (Phantom Detective, A Werewolf Boy), it centers around the hapless and always-in-debt crew of the ship Victory, which seems held together with twist ties and sheer stubbornness. They're the best team of space sweepers around-part of a poor underclass of garbage bounty hunters who hunt down and haul space trash to avoid damage to space stations and satellites. The crew come across Dorothy, a robot indistinguishable from a real human child, who they're told is dangerous and wanted by both the space government and a mysterious terrorist organization called the Black Foxes. Song Joong-ki plays Tae-ho, a man fallen from grace and tortured by a tragic loss, desperate to make money by whatever means possible to recover what's most important to him. I didn't know until now how much I wanted to see scruffy, bitter Song Joong-ki-it's great to see him doing something different from the many smooth-faced, suave and always-in-control leading men he's played in the past. Rounding out the crew of misfits are Kim Tae-ri as badass genius Captain Jang, Jin Sun-kyu as fierce-looking secret softy Tiger Park, and Yoo Hae-jin as android card shark Bubs. They're all disappointed by life and have been spit out by the empire in various ways, simply trying to scrape a living when they meet the child-robot who will change their lives. Also in the mix is the powerful genius Sullivan (a nearly unrecognizable Richard Armitage), whose Mars colony project is touted as humanity's only hope for survival.

Space Sweepers is a perfect popcorn film, hugely enjoyable and full of great ideas. The world it creates in 2092 is totally believable in that it's both very different and exactly the same as ours: a planet dying due to our own exploitation and abuse; an elite class who have given up on earth and are looking to highly expensive space travel as the answer; a genius white dude who claims he will solve all our problems with technology. (Elon Musk, is that you?) Jokes aside, this is a very plausible future given where we are now, and that grounds the sillier elements of the movie in real stakes, giving the action scenes a certain weight and scariness that I wouldn't feel in, say, a Star Trek movie. Most of all, it gave me the stylishly grubby found family feels of Cowboy Bebop and Firefly without any of the alienating toxic masculinity. There's so much visual interest in the way this setting has been imagined. I love the griminess of it all, the space trash and broken tech appropriate for a space opera with a strong environmental message. Placing Space Sweepers almost a hundred years in the future allowed the filmmakers to create technology without having to worry about explaining how it works. The production design is full of great details, like spaceships for mass travel reminiscent of commercial airplanes, the characters' salvaged and repurposed belongings, and the shiny, terrifying Space Guard armor that stands out in the dirty and dark places where they patrol and kill.

My favorite of these is probably how everyone always speaks their own language, using universal translators to communicate across linguistic barriers. At first my brain felt like it was twisting itself into knots trying to reconcile what my ears were hearing with the subtitles, but I got used to it pretty quickly, and I really enjoyed seeing the movie populated by such a diverse array of peoples and languages. There's an equalizing effect to it that stands in contrast to the global dominance of English in our world today-a hegemony which still exists in the movie, but is at least mediated somewhat between individuals by the earpieces everyone wears. The film is full of elements like that, fun pieces of world-building that also carry a subtle commentary. I appreciated its critique of the inequalities inherent to a system where citizenship is the ultimate value of a human-the way governments use narrative and military force as twin tools of domination and subjugation, and the institutionalized class stratification that keeps people in an endless cycle of poverty. That was surprising in a film which is essentially a summer blockbuster full of space battles and explosions. It's not a perfect movie-a couple of scenes with non-Korean actors felt a bit hokey, and the Korean dialogue is far superior to dialogue in other languages. The film also recycles that Korean action/disaster film trope of a father whose endangered young daughter serves as the source of all his moral development and pathos-which always gets me, but is no longer surprising.

Still, the core performances are solid and moving, the aesthetics are gorgeous, and I was never bored despite the movie being slightly bloated. It's been a long, sad year for many reasons, and one small thing I miss dearly is the pleasure of going into a dark theater and enjoying a loud movie. It's winter where I live, but I feel almost as though I experienced a summer blockbuster for the first time since the pandemic started. It's a shame for the filmmakers that they weren't able to release this on the big screen, especially considering that it's the first Korean movie of its kind, but it is a nice gift to us. Sometimes you just want to see a cynical band of adorable misfits blasting bad guys and saving the day.

Watch this only for Kim Nam Gil
7 February 2021
The heroine's exaggerated, hysterical acting and crying seem very out of sync with the movie's quiet, melancholic tone. But apart from that, a fine movie. Ceaselessly depressing but definitely worth a watch. And the lovemaking scene at the end is really hot despite this being a tragic love story.

Kim Soo Ro (2010)
I think this is a beautiful love story and development of a new land by Kim Soo Ro
11 December 2020
I really liked Kim Soo Ro (the Iron King) I think it is my 4th favorite Saguk <3 The story is about a man who was basically "taken" at birth - he lived believing someone else was his parents - while people fight him and his "different values" he fights back.

Cast: Ji Sung (Kim Soo Ro) I liked him a lot, I loved how he viewed things and how his beliefs never seemed to waver - he also had a strong sense of loyalty for one woman. there are two women in his life - one I didn't like (you'd find out later by watching the drama why she isn't acceptable) and the other woman who was always silently by his side (who I loved a lot) - I thought the romance between them was beautiful (even if it did get a late start by him - hers came early on). Music: usual Saguk music - I can't really remember as it has been awhile since I've watched this drama now... Re-watch Value: I really want to re-watch this drama at some point -

The whole movie is very slow.

The whole movie is very slow. If you frequent exorcist genre entertainment, then this is kinda basic. But if you're someone who isn't expose to this type of genre, then you should watch it.

Warning: Spoilers
This is a great movie! the acting was superb and the production was top notch! The storyline does not disappoint! Seo Joon oppa is so awesome in here! I can't take it with every scene he has mostly when he's wearing the leather jacket (which is basically every scene lol) or the priest robe with the jacket. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS MOVIE!! I really hope that there's a second movie!!

To answer the question below: basically the postcard that Priest Choi received was from Priest Ahn stating that he left for Italy. He gave that letter with the cross necklace to basically encourage him to continue fighting the demons in that sense. He was somewhat passing on the baton to Priest Choi.

My favorite historical drama ever
24 September 2019
My favorite historical drama ever. Song Joong Ki was a scene stealer even back then, so easy to see how he developed so quickly into a leading man. The second lead syndrome WAS STRONG with Yoo In Ahs character. Plot was familiar but very well done. Highly recommended if you aren't a huge fan of historic dramas, plot and OTP will keep you distracted from the hats :p

Dr. Romantic (2016–2023)

Dr romantic
8 September 2019
It took me so much time to find the right words to express how much this drama is a gem. So basically, I would say that Romantic Doctor Kim is a master piece. I have rarely been immersed in a drama this way. No wonder it became one of my few all-time favorites. To me, this is definitely the best medical drama ever. Amazing scenario, great plot, high accuracy with the medical jargon and techniques. Excellent acting from the entire cast including actors cameo. I mean some of them got me really crying with their painful stories... And what would be a good drama without life lessons? The trappings of our world are wonderfully depicted through the lives of the characters. The casting director deserves an award. He surely made no mistakes in the selection of the actors. The cast is flawless and the OST is perfect. 'Mention spéciale' to the talented Han Suk Kyu that I discovered in this drama. Happy he received the Grand Prize for his role in this drama (Dr Kim is a hero). He truly deserved it. Do not let yourself be fooled by the title of this drama and just watch it. You will understand a fewepisodes later the true meaning of it.

Good
30 March 2019
Mustang" is a stunning debut feature by Deniz Gamze Ergüven about five sisters in rural Turkey. Confined to their grandmother's house, the girls bridle against losing their freedoms in a story grounded in both laughter and tears, and above all in the resilient strength of these girls against soul-deadening strictures.
