The Ruins (2008)
I never get tired of watching this movie
Years ago, when I was a kid in Ohio, there was a local TV host named Dr. Shock who played horror flicks on Saturday nights. 1 movie was Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, 1965. The 2nd story was about a Creeping Vine. That stuck with me as being brilliant. The Ruins has a vine that is a direct descendant.. a college graduate if you will of that Dr. Terror flick. I saw this first and read the book after. I don't know how people can dislike this movie. There are no stars in this. The movie focuses on a group of 20 somethings and a group of Mayans who do not speak English or Spanish. If they did, there wouldn't be a movie. The Ruins is my favorite horror flick. It'll take a lot of horticulture to replace it.
Holes in the Sky: The Sean Miller Story (2021)
A real time waster
I was about three quarters of the way through this before I Googled and found out the story of Sean is fake. Regardless, my opinion remains the same. I don't get why a UFO story turned into a story about a haunting. I don't know how else to explain it. The UFO incident is never touched upon. I could care less who is knocking on what door. The guy 'disappears' for 4 days and I get to hear a pot losing its handle. So much promise but it fell shorter than a pile of snail poo. At the 1 HOUR, 14 MINUTE MARK, the UFO incident is touched upon. By this time, I don't care anymore. I gotta go to the bank and cash a check anyway.
My Christmas Prince (2017)
Horrendous
The prince has no 'security detail' in New York. However, his bodyguard flew in to a small town in Wisconsin and then, I assume, flew back home. This prince is not recognized in New York despite the what was it? Crown Watchers of America website? It has the typical Christmas fare, i.e., wreaths, lights, egg nog (I love egg nog). Oh wait, somebody mentioned his security detail but whoops! They showed up for the chick who flew in from the home country! The prince drives himself and makes no comment about NY traffic vs. Wisconsin traffic. They kiss in public; wear matching PJs on Christmas morning. I love Prince movies but this is the worst. I'll watch until the end in case I might change my mind but things are looking bad, kids.
A Christmas Prince (2017)
Seriously?

People seem to love it though so I'll watch until the end because I might change my mind.
Reign (2013)
Horrendous
and I so wanted to love this. I had waited so long for Reign and wow... 3 episodes in, I couldn't do it anymore. I could care less about the accuracy. The lack of older people in the cast was disturbing, the short mini dress on one of the ladies in waiting was disturbing. The scenery was beautiful, the guys are cute but I guess maybe I'm just not into teenage drama. The first episode where Mary gets out of the carriage and meets her friends and they are staring at the French and the French are staring at them. That whole thing was kinda dumb.. the whole staring at each other and hugging the 4 Maries like they just saw each other yesterday vs. years ago when you are led to believe this chick has been living in a convent. (Did they change the names of the ladies in waiting in the show?)
Anyway, I thought we were getting somewhere when Mary found out about the woman Francis was sleeping with but nope... she forgives him for that. That's a shame because that could have been explored. Geesh, I can't believe people actually like this script. They can't cut Mary's head off fast enough for me.
