K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022)
Looks like India sent a BIG check to the local like/rewiev office
This movie is pretty darn bad, you only need to watch the trailers to know this movie has no real story, character development and is overall as with most indian movies 50 years behind Hollywood in its cinematography. The budget may be big, but the movie is still very bad. Not to mention how badly the score have been tampered with. Just look at the comments. It is as clear as day the indian government called in their best like/click bots for this one.
Fatherhood (2021)
A strong story without having any big plots or adventures.
KH did a great job in this one! A movie that will have you in tears at several points, without being cringy or over the top.
I see a lot of people complaining about the fact this movie has next to no adventure, or big things happen in it. In my opinion this is what makes it great! Parenthood is not about great adventures, and extravagant life, its about you, and your child. Your childs life is yours for the foreseeable future, all you can hope for is small glimpses of shimmering, glorious sun, every once in a wile, as so well put by the grandma, "You keep all these little victories, like the one you had today, in a little box inside you. They will be your most priced positions!"
Character development takes time. So many movies these days fall victim to flat characters, and in turn a story that you simply don't care about. KH does a great job of illustrating what parenthood in its essence is. Some of the great low's are cut out, but that might have been a good choice by the director as it might have came across as trying to force the viewers emotion. I felt throughout the movie that i was not forced to feel something, and that, by my standars, is a trait that only great movies/series have. And so whenever there is something bad that happens in the fathers life, you do feel for him. Such an essential component of a movie such as this one, where there is no big adventures, no abnormal happenings, no extravagant lifestyle, just an ordinary guy, struggling trough the thought times, like the rest of us.
I cant help but wonder if all the bad grades for this movie, is done by young people, not yet exposed to the big hurdles in life.
And hey, that's totally fine, but don't get fooled. For anyone above the age of 22, that's gotten a taste of the big bad world outside your youth. This is a great watch.
Sexify (2021)
An overall ok story. Ruined by the recent trend of having to have a message.
Great actors, the story however is not representativ of what i would concider a student life, all female caracters come across as strong independant fighters, witch is fine, but the story is trying to tell us that these are the best, hardest working students at a prestigius universaty, top of the class. This part is simply not belevable. Alot of their reseach seems to be drawing pictures and circling parts of said pictures as if that constitute something revolutionary.
The music and constant moans played in the backgroud is to me awfull, annoying and takes more then it adds. It is also somewhat confusing. The femals are trying to un stigmatice female pleasure with what they portray as a serious tool to combat it. But the background sound and music is trying to portay a sexual, almost pornographic mood repeatedly.
Spoiler below
In the final episode where the girls are faced with the bord it became clear to me that this is yet another series/movie in the line of female enpowerment, at the expence of it being a good show. Why do you have to tell us so obviusly that this is the message. Cant you just make a good show with strong female carracters. If you have to be told something you are not showing it clear enough. Or you are expecting the viewer to be a "dumb" man in my case, implying i cant approciate a strong woman, and has to be told they infact are.
Its like tasting food. If i taste food. I know if it tastes good. Telling me its good after i tried it, does not change my opinion of it. It simply changes my opinnion about the foodmaker.
6 Days (2017)
Great movie, Sadly some big mistakes were made
An overall decent movie based on more or less real life. However the reporter from BBC witch was just horribly acted out somewhst ruined it for me. Every time she spoke i just seemed to think i could do a better job myself. Just terrible. I did not ruin the entire movie for me, as others have noted, however this could be an 8/10 and her acting alone took it down to a 6/10. Also i dont seem to feel any emotional attachment to the characters. This points to a weak depiction of the real life events or there was not enough effort made to tell the story about the different perspectives of each side. The ending where the negotiator talks to his wife is simply sloppy and it ends of on a bad note for me.
Could have been GREAT, was MEH.
