The Good Wife: Boom De Yah Da (2013)
Not one of the better episodes
I like this series but this season has had many writing errors and continuity issues. First in this episode is that Alicia had already met Cannings wife in a previous season when visiting his home. Second is that a wooden fence won't actually stop the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. An opposing attorney says, "...the aedes aegypti mosquito only travels 20-30 feet.", and that the wooden separates the lots. Most mosquitos travel 1-3 miles during their active periods of a 24 hour day and up to 100 meters after feeding. The aedes aegypti travels a kilometer or more each 24 hour period. Any mosquito can make it's way around a neighborhood. A major part of the plot hung on this and impacted two episodes afterwards. Each episode this season contains at least two of these type of super obvious errors.
1883: The Weep of Surrender (2022)
Have we met Hollywood's quota yet?
Now that we've met every woke quota required by Hollywood except LGBTQ... can we get on with a recognizable western. My hats off the Taylor for getting this made without a lesbian black and white couple with an asian child. I know he had to bow to the powers that be to just do this amazing undertaking. The public sex and nudity by Elsa would have gotten her horse whipped. This and the last episode are practically filmed on my grandfather's ranch and for the beauty, the actors and the horse breaking scene I can't go below a 5. These two episodes have taken all my willingness to dismiss the plot errors though. Taylor, I loved your cameo, but this has to improve to survive.
1883: Racing Clouds (2022)
What Lightning?
The actors are great. This show is filmed by the best and is amazing. The writing is awful. The chase is done at a fast trot. Miss May isn't a rider, she bounces her way across every episode. Her saddle sores would have been so bad that she would have to spend an episode or two in the wagon with ointment and unable to put pants on. I can't wait for her to die as she is unreconcilable anomaly to the time period. Even the Comanche women would have held her down and dressed her properly. She's basically naked riding past people dressed for a blizzard. And then she picks a white dress, looks like an under dress. That would not have been inconspicuous at the Fort, Mom should not have been happy with that. The attempts to slap and spank to attitude out of her every episode would have made this a comedy. Finally she would have been tied up and made into cargo. Her father would have been the only thing between her and a tar and feathering. For those that haven't seen a horse going fast it looks like the old Pony Express logo. All the timings are off, the other wagons would have been long gone and cookie would have been a third of the way to the Fort by the time she dug out and put on the best possible dress to annoy everyone.
Every trauma specialist(yes I am one) watching knows that arrow is too low to be a "Liver Shot". A kidney or ovary, yes and the intestines. Now days we would leave the arrow shaft plugging the hole until surgery, but she would have been dead long before the fort most likely. If she makes it to the fort and her insides aren't digesting themselves then the arrow must have missed everything vital and she has a chance.
Don't get me started about the Lakota, I have danced the Sundance on the Res. If they were out hunting game their camp would have been by a water source like where the thieves were found. The war paint is not for hunting game. The white face "Ghost" paint was usually for hunting white people which is why the Ghost Dance and white face was/is outlawed. Their camp is on the Oregon Trail because they are hunting what is on the Trail. They would have not stopped to talk to her under those conditions much less the normal bloodlust conditions of combat. She didn't stop anything and the Indians would have fought on or left due to the high casualty rate they sustained. I rolled it back and did a head count. There are way too many Indian survivors for all those that got shot. The larger wagon group basically decimated their attackers.
The mother says "sharecropper". Maybe she means just for the mentioned three years. These are not sharecroppers further evidenced by his commission as an officer.. Did they hide their wealth during the war and especially during the Reconstruction? The scoped rifle is/was very valuable and didn't survive three years in a Union prison so it had to be with the estate or bought later with some sort of income after he got his health back. Remember he came home at 97 pounds. Carpet Baggers would have plucked her like a chicken. A seventeen year old under those conditions would have been worked hard and known a better polite and survivable demeaner, she escaped the Reconstruction with her virginity. All of this could have been done without the saloon floozie topping. Faith Hill does a great job without being unbelievable. Isabel May could have done it without the nakedness and the whoring around. There are plenty of horse women in Texas that could have been the riding stunt double. Of course all of this could be an exaggerated oral history of the Dunton's.
CSI: Miami: Sink or Swim (2009)
Poorly researched...
So many things wrong with this plot. The bends, please, not life threatening from such a shallow depth. A diver experienced enough to operate a re-breather wouldn't have a problem with the net in that visibility, Much less coming up slowly enough to prevent the bends from less then an atmosphere down. Also, Cuba is on the list of countries we don't deport back to due to asylum laws. A Cuban birth certificate would make sure he'd stay. The issue would have been resolved when he became a police officer. I lived in Miami, we don't send people back there. One other thing, Special Operators can't fire an AK from under water, you have to raise it enough to drain the water from the barrel. Water doesn't compress...the results can be disastrous.
Valor (2017)
So many things wrong..and then there's the lack of acting.
As a special operator, I knew the mission was doomed before the helo landed. So many things wrong, so unprofessional and untrained. These guys wouldn't have been let out of the States much less be allowed to carry such valuable passengers. The opening op is so badly executed I have to imagine their "military advisor: is some stolen valor bum or they just plain blew him off.
Restaurants on the Edge: Okanagan Valley (2020)
Beautiful location with lots of filler banter
Much of the writing is inane. Like, "Maybe the native people that lived here are part of it's history?" In the end there was some sprucing up of the dinning room, but nothing was done with the uncomfortable chairs after making it clear that they wanted people to stay longer and drink and talk. So much bland filler, the locations and locals are all you have.
Restaurants on the Edge: Finland (2020)
Nice location destroyed by a lunatic
Where did you find this "interior decorator". This is the third episode where you've done little to change the interior for the better and on this one you reach out to young yuppies to show you raw hemp fabric with hand drawn caveman patterns that they created themselves based roughly on something they say is found in a local ancient cave. Somehow this is shown right after she says it's modernization and up dating she wants to do to a "Historical" building. What she does to a famous Yacht Club is not Nautical and quite destructive. The beautiful and expensive wood throughout, except for the ceiling, is painted White destroying the value and losing the warmth. Any appraiser worth their weight will want to know what you were covering up... Now there is no reason to travel so far when you can have any other white restaurant in the city.
