The Wheel of Time (2021)
Go read the books instead.
I am up to episode 6 and I am really not liking the direction the show is going. If Robert were alive today I don't think he would approve of what has become of his work of Art. I really loved the books but it seems like they are changing the show to fit certain political agendas instead of staying true to the story. They are rushing through things so fast. Skipping things that were really important to me in the book and adding whole new scenes that are not even part of the book and don't really add anything of value to the story. Go read the books they really are great!
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Amazing Show!
I didn't expect much from this but I was blown away. Everything about this show is amazing. From the writing, acting, animation and music. I can't wait to see what they do next!
Intergalactic (2021)
Seems like this show takes place in same universe as Idiocracy.
The main character is a police officer who is immediately framed for stealing a McGuffin that she herself placed in to evidence earlier. She is immediately arrested and sent to space prison because there is video of her taking this device even though hologram technology also exists. She had no motive to steal the device. They didn't find the device on her and there was probably tons of conflicting evidence and witnesses who could have proved her innocent but never mind that. Off to space prison! All of this stupid story was written just so we could get the main character on the prison ship because shortly after her mother finds the evidence to prove her innocent. The prisoners on the ship are all hilariously bad, all acting like they are bipolar supervillains. One prisoner has dreadlocks which come alive and can throw another human across a room despite being attached to a head of a women. Not sure how leverage/force works here. The prisoners overpower the guards who are armed with projectile guns btw. They proceed to blast their way through the ship. One prisoner even dual wields pistols and just starts shooting the hell out of everything. Hitting pipes which shoot steam out of them all the way to the bridge of the ship. There doesn't seem to be any security doors on this prison ship and they manage to get all the way to the bridge without them even hearing gunshots. The pilot insults them so they start blasting again killing him. They somehow manage to not destroy any of the ships controls or break the window leading to space behind him. But now they need a pilot and the space police have caught up to them. We also found out that one of the prisoners onboard is super dangerous, so dangerous they decide it's better to destroy the prison ship then have her escape. So they fly their space ships right next to the ship they want to destroy. Like right next to it. And fire missiles at it! But it's too late the prisoners force the main character to pilot the ship. When she engages the hyperdrive it destroys the ships firing missiles at them and they get away. And this is how episode 1 ends.
The Witcher (2019)
Awesome show. Did the books and game justice!
Great job Netflix. My biggest gripe was how the show jumped forward and back in time. They don't give any indication when this happens and you are left scratching your head at parts. The use of a doppler makes this extra confusing, you first think that dead character is now being impersonated by the doppler, but only come to realize. nope we are in the past again.
Small gripe, I had trouble accepting Triss as a non-redhead.
The Mandalorian (2019)
This character without a face has more character than ones from new movies.
3 episodes in. The main character has yet to even show his face but I already feel more for connected to him that any of the new movie characters. Great action and well written so far! Can't wait to learn more about his story.
My only gripe is the short length because I want more so bad! Episodes are just over 30 mins when you take into account the recaps at beginning of episodes and lengthy credits at the end.
Daybreak (2019)
Started off strong but fell really hard in the end.
Was really enjoying the show at the start. Was very fun and humorous take on the zombie genre. But things start getting pretty preachy and full of teen drama BS near the end. I started to not like the main characters near the end.
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
So many plot holes and terrible logic.
The writing has really taken a dive on this episode. What a terrible way to kill off the dragon. He gets hit not once, not twice but three times in rapid succession. It would have been incredibly hard to hit one shot on a moving dragon while shooting from a ship travelling at full sail. I am sorry but no! How did no one spot that fleet of ships. Every competent army general would have had scouts. They knew Euron had a fleet of ships but no one saw them. Not the unsullied on the ships not the three eyed raven and not the women flying atop the dragons. After all that they just cut away and show us nothing else of this battle and we come to find out Missandei gets captured. Did Greyworm and Dani just let that happen? They didn't even show us Arya and Sansa's to reaction to finding out about John Snow. So so lazy. Instead we are treated to scenes of characters hooking up and learning how someone who now contains all of human knowledge choose to use the information to make a wheelchair and nothing actually helpful.
Star Trek: Discovery: Will You Take My Hand? (2018)
Disappointing ending to what started as a great show.
The Klingon war ended by sending L'Rell to Kronos with a bomb saying "Unite or I blow up the planet".
This doesn't seem like a very honorable thing to do. I really doubt many Klingon's would follow her let alone all the houses.
I am pretty sure the Klingon's could have figured out how to disarm that bomb in the time it took them to transporter beam her to the meeting. Hey ever heard of a transporter accident?
Oh and all you people that threatened to mutiny you all get medals. I guess putting a Klingon who tortures and rapes people in charge of Kronos is a good thing?
