Anatomie d'une chute (2023)
Complex and well put together narrative.
A film with well-advertised elements in its details. An intelligent script that unravels reality in a visceral way. The film is one of the best of the year for subverting aesthetics and narrative that, being a common theme, could have fallen into a comfortable repetition but, on the contrary, delivers a work of art.
Detail for the performance of the protagonist who didn't deliver much.
The dynamics of the film provide a surface in which, emotionally, I came to love, disappoint, like and distrust the main character. The proposed suspension makes you enter the filmic atmospheric dimension, completing a peculiar experience.
La belle verte (1996)
Art is needed like oxygen and like food that kills hunger.
Art is needed like oxygen and like food that kills hunger. More than that, above all, redundantly, La belle vert does justice to what is necessary. Only in art can we delight in utopias as necessary as art. It is in utopia that we unveil beyond reality. The importance of this is that, if we didn't do it, reality would win over our dreams, and we would be doomed to believe that life is the way it is and there is nothing that can be done. More than art, more than cinema, La Belle Vert laughs in our faces as human beings who have not learned to relate to each other and to the Earth. It's such an intelligent comedy that it manages to make us laugh while making fun of our weird lives. We still believe in money, we still believe in bosses, we still believe in hierarchies and possessions. A beautiful film, with a peculiar French aesthetic, with a high-level humorous intelligence, and with the utopia necessary to take us out of the comfort zone of a mediocre and selfish life.
I just wish I could give a rating for the translation of the title, what a lazy and unfortunate translation, it's ridiculous these titles in Portuguese are far from being able to name such a gigantic work. Translation note: Shameful.
Alcarràs (2022)
A fiction that looks like a documentary.
The family's daily life faces people delving into the history and feelings of each person, it is a very real and very vivid historical tangle compared to what happens in Brazil, with indigenous peoples, quilombolas and people who live in rural areas. Very captivating, good direction and exploration of conflicts. A conscious direction of conflicts, where the characters find themselves in their own dilemmas while the macro-story unfolds, bypassing the life of the entire family that becomes distressed, takes over the spirit, the possibilities of existence are ending and expectations are being frustrated. Very thought-provoking film.
