Undercover Underage (2021– )
10/10
This programme should be broadcast on every channel across the world!!
17 April 2024
This programme was a huge eye opener as to how absolutely shockingly blatant these sexual predators prey on underage and vulnerable children. I was sickened to the core but ant same time, and binge watched every single episode in season 1 in one evening. These men are vile monsters and don't deserve to be on this planet. Prison is too kind for them, they shouldn't be alive. It makes me so mad that even though the evidence was clear and proved, the majority that were passed to the relevant authorities didn't even reach any conclusion. The authorities need to set aside budgets to convict these heinous criminals. I was surprised that most of the roles were played by one person - Roo, who is excellent, but the more she plays the roles, the more monsters will know of her, certainly in season 1. I am just about the start season 2 and know it's going to be another very uneasy watch.....let's hope they convict all!!

Painfully slow and absolutely boring......
27 March 2024
What is going on? I watched this on the pretence of the advertisement for it and wish I hadn't bothered. It is well acted and I commend all the actors but the series is just painfully slow and boring to watch....so much so that I almost turned it off. But, I gave it a chance and watched it all in one day as a binge....wasted my time. It is dreadful and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The storyline is weak and the setting looks like it's in the 1990's with old cars but I read it's meant to be modern day...really? It was just dull and not inviting, not interesting and a stupid ending...I hope they aren't thinking of series 2....it was left hanging and I think they are....

Good but not great
20 February 2024
I have grown up listening to Bob Marley from the early beginnings to the very last song he wrote, he was a genius. His songs had meaning, purpose and a message. I can see why the movie was made, but it lacked a lot of Bobs music. Whilst I appreciate there was a story to tell, his biopic, it was confusing as it starts when he is an adult and jumps back and forwards to when he was a child and teenager.... The message from Bob is through his music, and personally for me, I would have just liked to hear more of his songs in the movie. That said, the acting was absolutely brilliant, you can't fault that.... Bob and Rita's performance was outstanding....we lost a legend and I love his music. Peace and one love everyone.

A great series that does not disappoint
19 January 2024
I watch a load of tv series and movies and have left a lot of reviews over many years

This series caught me from the start and I was hooked right to the very end...the acting was very good and I really like Michelle Keegan, never watched her before and don't know why, as she is brilliant, such a talented actress, very believable and the part suited her personality.

The storyline was good and I really enjoyed every single episode. It was great to see Joanna Lumley and as ever, she gives a great performance. What is very clear from the series is that Michelle Keegan has a lot of acting ability and will no doubt progress to the bigger screens in future. Well done everyone on this programme. I think it is underrated on IMDB as there are so many twist and turns in the storyline that I was actually gobsmacked by the ending.

Good show had me gripped at the start but.....too much individual talking!!
10 December 2023
Enjoyed this show from the first episode and binged watched the whole series in two nights. However, there was too much talking from the individual characters and it made the series way too long. I appreciate we like to know a bit about people, but we only need to hear it once not throughout each episode

Personally, I don't think the person who won was worthy, as it wasn't because they were clever, it's just luck as most of the challenges were a game of chance and not skill.

Most disappointing for me personally, was they didn't have Tug of War challenge. Whilst it's not season 2 as it's a reality show, the concept of Tug of War was brilliant and ruthless, and would have made it more exciting to watch.

Overall, I enjoyed it up to episode 7 and then I fast forward all the individuals talking as it wasn't necessary, most of these people got eliminated, so what's the point of hearing their life stories? I think they try to bring the human element in but it's waste of our time and the producer's money....

Quite a few new challenges were introduced and this was fun but, Tug of War was a great game and they should have included it, in my humble opinion. Would I watch another series? Only if they brought back Tug Of War!!!

Nothing original....best thing is Alfred Enoch!!
1 December 2023
I watched this hoping it would be good and the first couple of episodes were OK. It starts off fine but then loses its way with some unconvincing acting by everyone except Alfred Enoch. Why he agreed to make this series is beyond me as he is a superb actor of great strength (take a look at his work in USA) Alfred Enoch simmers under the shock behaviour of his wayward wife and I am surprised they were even together as they seemed so ill matched Make your own mind up but if I was given a choice I would have given this a miss! There are plenty of great shows and this just misses the mark as it's predictable and nothing new.....

Would have scored it a 10 but....
28 November 2023
This series was very good but I think it dragged on a little too long. It would have been better if it was about 4 episodes. For me, the strongest characters were Samuel, Janet, Guy and The Tailor. It was also great to see Craig Fairbrass again as he is absolutely brilliant as an actor and I always wondered why he wasn't on mainstream tv more often. A great series with lots of twists and turns....i can see why it scored highly and would have given it a 10 but for the duration...by the end of episode 5, I guessed the ending by. However, worth watching and making up your own mind. A dark and compelling story that has some comedic moments!!

Both series are sensational!!
14 November 2023
Brilliant acting, truly believable characters and an absolutely both series that left me wanting more. The storylines were excellently executed and I had great emotional awareness, how hard it can be doing time. Hard hitting and upsetting in some scenes.

I binge watched both series and was hooked from the first episodes of each!

Amazing insight, into life behind bars and the acting was nothing short of award winning performances by all the actors. It was nice to see not so well known actors taking on big roles too One thing for sure, I wouldn't like to be where they were and if anything the series should be viewed as a deterrent!!!

A slow burn, it was a bit long for 7 episodes
4 November 2023
Firstly, from watching a lot of tv series, this was a slow burn and I think it was one episode too long - it probably would have worked better if it was just 6 episodes

Whilst I appreciate it is a true story, most of the dialogue was heavily scripted for the male characters and the emphasis was all on the police, with very little from female characters, even those who survived the attacks. It was 1970's but could have been 1870's.... I was shocked how all the women (including female police officers) were stereotyped and treated so appallingly!!

The casting was stellar, with such fine actors - especially Daniel Mays who was excellent in his portrayal of one of the victim's husbands, what a powerful performance!

The screenplay, costumes, cars and sets were exceptional and I am glad I watched the series.

Powerful reminder of Windrush....a sensational first series
1 November 2023
Absolutely loved this series and hope they make season 2. This was a powerful, moving and in several scenes, very upsetting to watch how these lovely people were racially and physically abused....it was so sad to watch and I am ashamed that a lot of people in this country were so discriminatory The actors were all marvellous, the storylines well scripted and the costumes simply fantastic I am so glad I watched this series as it educated me how the Windrush generation were treated Sir Lenny Henry created and wrote this and am so impressed as it was so well made - really well done everyone indeed!!

Savile the vile monster!!!
11 October 2023
I watched this to understand why Jimmy Savile did what he did and to understand how he got away with it for almost 6 decades

To be clear, I never really understood what he did and so it was an education. Personally for me, it gave a better understanding of what Savile was like and he is vile monster!!

After watching it made me hate him. The man was vile, disgusting, disrespectful and he should have been stopped immediately when he was first investigated in 1958

Due to no one doing anything, for years and subsequent decades afterwards he caused so much pain and suffering due to the abuse he inflicted on his victims. Savile thought he was doing no wrong and was a little man with big ego as well as a liar - shame on him!

Savile should have been sent to prison and served a whole life sentence with no parole.

Steve Coogan was absolutely outstanding in playing Savile and it was an incredible performance. The acting and performance throughout this mini series was exceptional and for that reason I scored it highly.

An outstanding movie of justice
5 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is incumbent of lawyers to not just talk about the truth, but to actually seek it, to find it, to live it. There are no words better that sum up this outstanding movie.

An an all star cast and although made in 1996 is well worth watching by anyone. It is a movie to not be forgotten as justice prevails.

This film is hard to watch and I can't believe the actors who portray their characters did them so well.

Watch it all and remember that we are human beings and no-one deserves what happens to them. This is the story of a father who gets revenge for his 10 year old daughter. I cried during that scene, it is shocking....

Ignore the haters...a great series that's well executed
2 October 2023
I write a lot of reviews as I love TV, especially dramas and the BBC have done it again, made a brilliant one. I read all the reviews and wonder what some of the 'haters' have been watching.

It's a hard hitting series and I really liked all the characters as individuals. The directing is clever as filming includes the food and it's delivery, this makes the series a bit different than other kitchen drama shows - I quite liked that aspect.

Andy (Stephen Graham) is as always, an outstanding actor and I really think that Carly (Vinette Robinson) and Emily (Hannah Walters) are two of the very best actors in their roles and they really made series believable for me.

The series is fast paced and in some scenes quite upsetting so be prepared....it's a high pressure environment and it is the boiling point!

Well done.....great series and well worth watching.

Slow burner but worth the watch....I was hooked!
25 September 2023
Firstly this series is quite long and therefore a slow burner. It has a lot of twists and turns and at first I was confused as I couldn't work out which 'world' I was watching in.... I like Fringe Science and this was exactly that.

First 3 episodes you may be confused but then it all makes sense as every tiny detail you thought about is explained slowly and gradually. Very clever indeed!!

One thing that is particularly good is the acting, attention to detail and the story....what a roller coaster of emotions!!

I love the complexity of the characters and the shocking revelations. You really need to watch this series.

It has very good clear and coherent English subtitles and I personally would have preferred it to be audio dubbed as I am not great trying to read subtitles and watch the series at the same time!

Give it a nudge...it all makes sense and comes together beautifully. Well done!!! A Highly Recommended first series.

So dark, broody and boring I had to turn it off after 2 episodes!!
4 September 2023
I watch a a lot of tV shows and really like Ruth as an actress. Unfortunately for me, this series was a complete failure. The storyline, is too dark, broody and at some times quite painful to watch as it was slow and quite dull....and therefore boring!! The storyline too, took long to get going and it was difficult to understand the context. It's a shame as I think this could have been a great show.

I do however, think Ruth's accent was quite good but not great (and she is not American - I always thought she was!) A really great actress, just think this role was not right for her, perhaps a local Irish person could have played the role better.

Great show and really enjoyed both seasons
4 September 2023
Highly recommend this series. I watched the first series and it was over too quickly with just 3 episodes. The fourth series is 4 episodes and I watched it still wanting more episodes....it's that good. The acting is brilliant, storyline believable and can't wait for series 3. I really think we make some of the best British television shows and this is one of them that I would suggest to anyone to watch Great to see a show well made, well acted and well scripted...from start to finish it had me hooked and I really enjoyed it...I watch a lot of tv shows and this is one of the best. Well done to everyone involved in making this show such a huge success for me.

Danny Dyer needs to be a more diverse actor
17 August 2023
I watched this show hoping that I would see a different side to Danny Dyer as an actor. Sadly I was disappointed, it was just watching Mick Carter from Eastenders in Australia!!!

Honestly, I am unsure why he always plays the same character and doesn't develop his acting to suit the script. His cockney accent is so over the top that it sounds so exaggerated that it makes me cringe now to hear open his mouth. I am sure Danny can get better scripts, if not, come back to Eastenders!!

The storyline is quite predictable and apart from the house which is amazing, sadly, I would give this show a miss.

Ross Kemp is the only good thing about this
7 July 2023
Ross Kemp is wasted in this series as he is a great actor and a very believable in any role. The storyline was predictable and spoilt by all the other actors in particular Gerry, Hannah and Amber - they were so weak in their performances that it made me cringe every time they spoke

Dolly was a very good actress and I liked her a lot

It's great to see Ross Kemp back as an actor - he deserves far better programmes to be in than this though. I don't think he should stick to documentaries either...Ross Kemp has been missed and I would watch him in anything

Welcome back to mainstream acting Ross!

Absolutely brilliant and can't wait for season 2!!
26 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the first season and am glad they are making a second one. If it's a good as the first we are in for a real treat

This aeries was hard hitting and very gritty. As a southerner I personally found it a little hard to follow the dialogue as the Scottish accents are very strong. That said...I put subtitles on and then followed it more easily!!

Dougray Scott deserves a BAFTA for his harrowing and haunting performance of a Detective who battles his own demons.

Outstanding acting by everyone in the series andJohn Simms was excellent in his portrayal of a serial killer - he was so manipulative, edgy and very scary. I can't say when I last saw a really good portrayal of a serial killer coming to light apart from the movie Seven where the acting was similar...on par with creepy and really good acting.

Well done on this season. It was fantastic!!

'Uh Huh'....'OK, Right and Yeah'
23 May 2023
I love this show and have scored it high accordingly. The brashness of how the siblings speak to each other is amazingly well articulated and portrayed really well. Yes they are super rich and incredibly privileged but I do t think they are spoilt. Life for them is tough and they fight to get where they want to be in Waystar. Brilliant acting.... One of the things I honestly did not like in the first couple of seasons was like the annoying zooming in and out of the camera - it was really bad and is much better as the seasons progress thankfully The script has to be applauded.....outstanding performances by everyone. My favourite is Kieran who is absolutely fantastic and quick witted. Shiv is great too but the amount of times she says 'Uh Huh' , 'Ok...trailing off,' and 'Right' and 'Yeah' in any scene is incredibly insane! I also think she is fab as an actress but she is over the top and is definitely passive aggressive...if that's her just acting well we are in for a shock as she can act her socks off superbly

I am so sad there will not be another season but it's probably best it ends on a high!!

Brilliant - I have watched all seasons and love them all
12 May 2023
I thoroughly recommend watching the entire series....it is so entertaining as the acting and storylines are really good. I write a lot of reviews and have been a huge fan of Jo Joyner since Eastenders who is such a great actor. Mark Benton is absolutely fantastic in his role too and really funny. I also love Patrick Walshe McBride as a Thespian as he often goes in disguise which is hilarious- there is so much value in watching the series...don't give it a miss....watch it and enjoy!! I can't wait for another series...come on let's have a season 5 please!! Well done everyone on the series....it's one of my favourite shows.

10 episodes and was 5 episodes too long....
8 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I binge watched this entire series in two days and it was way too long....the storyline was drawn out that it was painfully protracted. Apart from Daniel Mays who plays Marcus Warda nd Laurence Fox as David who were both brilliant and believable in the role, the rest of the casts acting was dire and at best mediocre....there was too much back and forth from past to present history that it was quite predictable. I guessed the ending before I knew what happened and it wasn't original at all.

The Calafat's son Oriol, having 'feelings of attraction' towards his Mum, personally for me was unnecessary. To me, it was a little too implausible and made a mockery of the series...it just didn't add any value to the series...Boxer's accent in English was all over the place and he sounded more English than Spanish when he spoke

Glad the series was cancelled as I wouldn't watch another season.

Very good apart from the zooming in and out of the camera!!!
12 April 2023
I really enjoyed this series and it kept me on the edge of my seat so much that I binge watched the entire series in a weekend. Stellar acting by Martin Freeman, Siobhan Finneran and Imelda Staunton as expected. For me, I found it so irritating there was several jittery camera close ups that were unnecessary. They really were done in such an abrupt way that it made the filming occasionally look a bit amateur

None the less - as it's based on a true story, it was so sad to see and hear how the lives of Sian, Becky and their families suffered so much. A harrowing ordeal that was portrayed with great empathy by all the actors

Worth watching....

Exceptional and very well worth watching!!
28 March 2023
All the actors in this series are exceptional - especially Yeom Hye-ran who plays Mrs Kang. The domestic abuse she suffered in the series was portrayed so harrowing well that I cringed with fear for her. The first 8 episodes had me on the edge of my seat and I binge watched the final 8 episodes in one day when it was released in March....fantastic twists and turns - at first I was a little confused as it jumps back and forth years to past and present. Then, when you think you don't get what is going on, it hits you with clear explanations that all makes sense....it is really well scripted, superbly written and a pleasure to watch dubbed in English. A truly great example of bullying that is terrible for anyone to endure and 'The Glory' of getting sweet revenge years later. Well done!!

Worth watching but it's not brilliant....
21 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Binge watched this series and must admit that by episode 6 I was glad they shifted the storyline to centre around a Detectives perspective. The first five episodes were self explanatory and you don't need a brain to understand what it's going to happen....'haters' were being killed off by a super fan! However the manner in which they were, was comical and worth watching. The detective pieced it all together and that was the best part for me. The lead actress in the role of Dre (Dominique Fishback) was absolutely incredible and I found her demeanour fascinating - totally unfazed, straight faced with a seriously unattached and demented personality....what a great actress!! Enjoyed majority of the series although some scenes were either too much dialogue, too slow and therefore a bit boring in my opinion. For that reason, I didn't give it a higher score. Well done to the director, cast and crew!
