A disgrace to the SATC franchise!
13 March 2016
The only thing good about this movie were the beautiful costumes/outfits. Otherwise, I am still trying to figure out why this movie was even made. I watched it once and I refuse to watch it again because in my mind, I like to pretend it never happened. I prefer to think of SATC finally ending with the 1st movie. This was like a bad dream. While watching this, I felt that everything we grew to love about these women was a lie. This movie was a waste of time and money. If the writers and creators thought it was good enough to satisfy the fans constant request demanding more, they were wrong. If this mess was made to make fans stop begging for more, I think it worked!

A good way to satisfy SATC fans!
12 March 2016
I have probably seen this movie more times than I can count. I have it on DVD and I still watch it when it is on T.V. I watched all of the SATC episodes as they aired, just as a true fan would. When the series ended, I felt there could have been so much more and this movie finally provided it. On occasion, my girlfriends and I still gather with snacks and wine to watch this. The best thing about SATC is that they understand what a normal woman goes through. This movie will make you laugh, cry and feel all other kinds of emotions. The soundtrack is great and the outfits, as always, are amazing. You can tell that the great Patricia Field designed these ladies outfits to reflect how much they have grown. My only critique on this film is Jennifer Hudson. I feel her part in this movie was not a good fit. Her acting was blah and over done. She tried too hard and it backfired. Obviously she went on to win an Oscar because she is a good actress, but in this movie, she wasn't. Maybe she received training after this film, but they missed the mark with her here. Other than that, it's a great movie that provides the missing dose of SATC fans were waiting for.

OK movie, OK plot, OK acting...just OK.
1 March 2016
Let me start by saying I adore the late Aaliyah. For her first role, she did a pretty good job. She played the part well and this part was made for her. However, I enjoyed the soundtrack more than the movie itself. Not saying it was a horrible movie, it was just OK. I wish the fight scenes were more authentic. You could tell they were choreographed. When I watch a movie like this, I want it to look like people are really fighting each other. I also felt that Jet Li and Aaliyah lacked in the chemistry department. Sure, they look good together as friends and/or partners in crime, but nothing more and I mean nothing. Anything beyond that seemed forced. I actually felt the entire cast lacked in chemistry. There were a couple of twists that were unexpected and the plot was OK, but nothing to really knock your socks off. It is entertaining if nothing else is on TV, or if you just want to watch the beautiful Aaliyah in action. For me, it is a bit nostalgic for that reason. Also, I was still a teenager when this came out and this was the movie to watch at that time. Again, not the worst movie, but not the best. I will admit that I have probably watched this at least 5 times. Sometimes, I just can't say no because although it is not perfect, it is still entertaining.

A horror movie made the right way
1 March 2016
I consider myself a horror movie connoisseur and this film is definitely in my top 10. I have watched a lot of scary movies, both old and new. It takes a lot for me to get scared. Most of the newer horror films completely miss the mark. This one did not. Everything about this film was great. From the acting, to the camera work, the retro feel, the make up, just great. I watched this in theaters with my husband and two teenage boys. Let's just say, when the movie ended, all of us pretty much walked hand in hand. The boys wanted to sleep with the light on, they were terrified. It kept us on the edge of our seats. It didn't take long for stuff to start happening. No one likes a slow horror film. It wasn't too long either. It was edited perfectly, with just the right amount to keep you satisfied. Also, a rare find, the storyline was good. This movie keeps you in suspense and keeps you jumping. So, if you want a good horror film where you will actually be scared, this is the one to see. Just make sure you don't watch it alone.

Younger (2015–2021)

Fun for all ages
5 February 2016
So, I have heard this show being compared to Sex and the City numerous times. I wouldn't necessarily go there. Sure, it's created by Darren Star and the actors are beautifully dressed by the great Patricia Fields. And sure, they live in New York, but those are the only things they have in common with SATC. Is that a bad thing? Not in this case. Younger is fun and addicting. The cast is relatable and interesting to watch. Sutton Foster is perfect. Her acting is superb. The rest of the main cast does a great job at supporting her. The chemistry between "Liza" and "Josh" is wonderful to watch. These days I find myself catching a new show and they get to the point too quickly. I like how this show doesn't do that. And not in the sense that it is dragging on, but that there are so many possibilities and you cannot help but get excited to see what happens next. On another review, I saw someone say it was refreshing. That is the perfect word for this show! My only two gripes are that I feel a couple of characters don't belong and they lack chemistry with the rest of the cast. I also wish the series was a full hour. 30 minutes is just a tease for my emotions. So, there you have it. Forget the book club ladies. Grab your wine and gather with your girls to watch this. You will not be disappointed. Especially with all of the hotness on the show.

Teachers (2016–2019)

Obnoxious
23 January 2016
I watched the first 2 episodes and I am done. I cannot take anymore. This show is not funny at all. As a Mom, I wanted to jump through the TV and smack these "teachers." Yes, I know, it's just a TV show...but it shouldn't be. After watching Younger, this completely kills my vibe. What a waste of time. I feel like TV land is trying too hard by putting this show on the air. It's like watching a bunch of desperate women having a midlife crisis literally in front of their students. If this was real life, these women would be locked in rooms with padded walls. Someone was clearly intoxicated when they gave the greenlight for this hideous show!!!
