Deja Vu (2006)
9/10
An absolute thriller...
22 November 2006
I'll start by saying that I was reluctant to even see this movie but after some insistence by family, I sat and watched in pure enjoyment.

Articles, reviews, trailers, TV spots, DO NOT do this film justice. Denzel Washington pulls out another great performance as well as an aged Val Kilmer. While some will point out that the plot is hard to swallow, it doesn't matter because it's wrapped up in sheer entertainment. You feel for these characters. There are no holes to be found in either the plot or it's twists. It's believable at the same time unbelievable. If you can get past the middle 20 minutes or so while they explain what the team can do, you're in for a great ride.

I can't, in three paragraphs, paint a picture like Deja Vu. Of the many films Mr.Washington has put out over the last 4 years or so, this is by far his best if not one of the best of the year.

Highly recommended for the open-minded.

Wasn't my first choice...but a nice surprise...
24 September 2006
I was expecting a WWI version of Pearl Harbor. What I got was and edge-of-your-seat, cheer-out-loud, cinematic adventure (little Dane Cook for you) I didn't have a huge interest in seeing the film initially but after some insistence by family members I caved and watched in absolute delight.

This film is not heavy on the dialog, but the dogfight sequences are breath-taking at the very least. The love story is believable and doesn't overdo-it on the Kissie-face...

Finally Note....It never ceases to amaze me that decent films like this and many other continue to get dozens of votes in the '1' bracket. I seriously doubt that whoever did so, didn't see the film. Get a life.

Give it a chance...

I'm giving this a 10 because it was SO MUCH BETTER than I thought it would be. I didn't think I could get past Lucas Black's heavy accent. He toned it down to a believable one that didn't get in the way of the story.

This film moves quickly and doesn't stray too long on dialog and kissy-face. (Was there any?) The folks that gave this movie a 1 out of 10 obviously didn't see and don't like the franchise and feel that they can bash a movie in 10 lines or more and feel better about it. Those people should just go watch South Park and stop whining.

This movie is entertainment in the purest form. I will see it again in the theaters soon.
