X-Men: Dark Phoenix

People need to chill. This was a solid movie

I really liked this movie. This was by far the best of the '1st Class' xmen. Maybe even 2nd best of the whole series behind Logan.
The story was tight. The acting was top notch for a comicbook movie. Sophie Turner lost her accent a couple of times but that's not a huge fault. She was better than many critics gave her credit for. A couple of surprisingly good character arcs for a movie this long with this much action, and pretty reasonable character motivation, which quite frankly some of the other movies have lacked.. Special Effects were pretty damned good and the Hans Zimmer soundtrack was killer. The bad guys in this were pretty great too. Not a lot was really shown or overly explained about them. That is why they worked so well. A bit of mystery was good when we really didn't need to know too much because the real story was about Jean.
No doubt the hard core comic fans will be upset but it's hard to fit the dark phoenix story into one movie. No, if you take this movie on it's merits as just another in the series of 9 movies then it more than holds it's own and surprisingly surpasses most of the other films in the series.
