Noggin the Nog (1959)
Childhood memories...

Simply the best children's animation entertainment ever - forget Disney and those modern kung-fu-in-outer-space atrocities!
Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin's creations were the stuff of legend: Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss, The Clangers and Noggin the Nogg Surreal, dangerous, touching and bizarrely real to children (of all ages) they provided entertainment whilst feeding the imagination and educating the sense of narrative.
The set designs were fabulous - despite being made largely in the producers' garden sheds and kitchen tables - the stories engaging and Oliver Postgate's narration simply IS the voice of my childhood!
Don't deny your children the pleasure, terror and sheer happiness that comes from these masterpieces
