Global Baba (2016)
A griping tale of Deceit, Corruption and Blind Faith.
This is a movie that every one should watch. Though the subject of the film is not new or anything that we haven't seen but it is the acting and execution that takes it to a whole new level.
Global Baba is a biting recreation of the world of god men, perfectly well-timed considering the goings-on around us these days. How easy is it to perform miracles and build cults overnight, how the babas are emerging as the alternate power centres. These are the babas who are so cash rich that they could even offer loans to Swiss banks. Instead of teaching scriptures they ensure a short cut to heaven to their beleaguered followers. Of late there have been several Hindi films dealing with god men, superstition and blind faith. Global Baba takes the narrative a step forward to look at the more sinister side of it—the deadly mix of crime, politics and religion and how it is ruining the country. In the midst of it, the media also gets coopted and becomes a conduit needlessly, also at times voluntarily. India has been facing these issue since ages.
They ease with which these so called fake babas convince the general public, even the well educated people is just so disturbing. The movie beautifully portrays blind faith. Yes it is visibly rough in its story-telling, technique and texture. There might be a lack of cinematic sophistication and craft and far too many issues—land encroachment, tribal rights— grappling for space topped with a rather preachy speech from the logical, practical Bhola Pandit (Sanjay Mishra). However, the chaos on screen is an apt reflection of the anarchy that is the reality. Despite the shrillness and breathlessness of action it deals with a significant issue in all seriousness. So, I recommend everyone to see this movie. You'll not regret as there are hardly any dull moments in this one.
A Flying Jatt (2016)
You've got to be a genius to make a movie this bad.
A misfire of inanities. This is a failure of epic proportions. You've got to be a genius to make a movie this bad. How does this crap even get made? What I really don't get is all the positive feedback. I love a good superhero movie. Not this. Lousy sound, worse editing, pathetic characters. I wish I had had my brain "Headered" before watching this. This is a type of movie that just don't know the way it's heading. It tries to be funny, emotional and spiritual at the same time, failing in all three.
Script makes no sense at all. A mother who encourage her son on tie a turban (religious tradition), herself drinks alcohol, which is strictly forbidden in Sikhism. I mean 5 year old with a pencil & paper could have wrote a better script than this trash. VFX was most unrealistic load of crap that one could see in there life time. Considering the budget on this thing, it could have been a lot better. The movie was boring, and the acting was pretty lame. Tiger shroff's acting was so awe-inspiringly wooden that it is basically a fire risk. I'm not even sure it's supposed to be a comedy.
A Tip - to anyone looking for a decent Superheo movie. Stay clear of this one. I know i will in future. I think you can better spend time doing nothing or can keep on staring at a wall for 2 hours than to watch this ridiculous movie. Don't waste your time and money on this one. It's simply NOT WORTH it.
Mohenjo Daro (2016)
A total disappointment.
Movie that taught me not to trust the reviews. I was skeptical about the reviews guys. I have to admit that I went with very low expectation to watch this movie. But after seeing good reviews, I did't expected the movie to be this bad. This movie was even worst than i expected. There are hardly any memorable moments in this one. The performances of lead cast were promising but the movie as a whole seemed like a joke. Comparing it to movies like LAAGAN is the insult of historic genre. The dialogue are very poor and most of the time acting is unnatural. VFX is also sub par and seems unreal. A lot better can be done with this budget.
I am not comparing it to the Hollywood 'cause there is nothing worth comparing in this movie. This is just a type of movie that takes the audience for granted. The movie is unnecessarily long and doesn't offer anything new to the audience. Believe me a movie lot better than this could be made in 100 crores. There are so many loop holes in the story that the end result is a clumsy mess. The movie had so much potential but it was wasted. The movie might carter to special type of audience. But personally I would NOT RECOMMEND any one to waste their money on this movie. Instead go and watch something like Rustum which is at least better than this one.
Nil Battey Sannata (2015)
Movie to fall in love with
This movie is such a masterpiece. It proves that reality can keep the viewer griped. Nil battey sannata tells the simple story of mother and her daughter. The characters are so well defined and real that viewer really find them believable.
The acting of leading cast is remarkable and truly deserves an applause. This film keeps you engaged till the end. The portrayal of mother-daughter relationship is done with great realism. I did not find my attention wandering off even for a single moment while i was watching this film as there were hardly any dull moments in the movie.
These kind of movies really deserve a lot more media attention than those mindless action flicks like kick or dabangg etc. The acting is seriously Oscar winning level.
Don't trust my words just go an see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Paan Singh Tomar (2012)
Sheer Brilliance - An Epic Film
This is one the rare films in Bollywood today that dare to show the real picture of corrupt political and judicial system in India. The common man has no choice but to take arms just to save his dignity. Period. The director has done full justice to this biopic which brings us to an important question that Are we really safe? The corrupt officials in police and judicial system always abuse the system and the innocent have to pay the price and eventually justice is denied to the victims and they are the one who are made to appear guilty.
Must watch for every Indian. One of the rare cinematic gems to come out in past few year. Irrfan as usual steals the show with his stellar and effortless performance and pleasure to watch on screen. The ease with which he performs his role is what makes it hard to take our eyes away from him. Everyone has done great acting and audience is emotionally attached to the protagonist and other characters as all of them are depicted with epic reality.
This is my first review. So, i am sorry if there are any mistakes. Must watch for everyone. Dreadful plight of country with such potential. This movie makes us question are thoughts and for just that you should watch it and it won't disappoint you.
