Band of Brothers: The Breaking Point (2001)
Outstanding episode
This might be the best episode of the first seven. It shows the emotional toll on Easy Company, bravery, leadership and loss.
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
Way too slow
Probably the slowest Back Mirror episode there is. Waited 60 minutes for something to happen but nothing does I liked the actors but really boring
Elysium (2013)
Don't believe the review trolls
Elysium is a gripping scifi movie. There are some plot holes but what scifi movie doesn't have those? Damon as Max and Sharto Copley as Kruger are excellent. The plot isn't deep but the action never slows down. Is this America in 30 years, where the environment is trashed and the rich control health care? Those seem to be today's headlines every day. Yes it's fiction but a more possible fiction than many other scifi movies.
Black Mirror: Metalhead (2017)
This episode is a perfect example of dark AI weaponry
This episode is definitely different than the others but it's great. If you didn't like it you don't understand Artificial intelligence and the dangers from it. Debates are going on right now about the ethics of using AI robotics in war against people. As another reviewer mentioned, Google Boston Dynamics robots on YouTube. This could happen 100%
The Hateful Eight (2015)
Good but needs editing big time
Let me first say that I'm a huge Tarantino fan. I pretty much love the plots, intensity, actors and extreme violence in all of his movies. The Hateful Eight had some good plot twists but overall it was a bit disappointing. First of all it's way, way, too long, 3 hrs, 7 minutes. If they cut out an hour of the movie (maybe 90 minutes even), and turned into a fast thriller I would have bumped the rating up to an 8. There are definitely some scenes and conversations that could have been cut and it wouldn't have been a big deal. The second problem is that 95% of the movie takes place in the cabin. There is some brief but spectacular cinematography of Wyoming (nee Colorado). I definitely wanted to see more, I was going stir crazy in that cabin. How about throwing in a few flashback scenes of the Domergue gang in action or making it into a town somewhere? Overall if you're a Tarantino fan it's worth watching the movie just for the great actors, violence and plot twists, but the first 90 minutes are pretty slow.
