Bloodhounds (2023– )

A drama with soul

I don't remember when was the last time that I rooted so much for the 2 "heroes" of this Korean serie; their bound is beyond strong, truthfully and everlasting. The chemistry is off the charts. They make such an exceptional team. The script is developing a thorough and complex character definition ( for both heroes and villains). It's the evolution that takes place in these 8 episodes, that makes this show so satisfying to watch. We have enough action and outstanding fighting scenes, some plot twists ( like most of the Korean dramas), moving and sensitive subjects.

This is a series that you will binge watch in 1 or 2 days.

Xi zhuang bao tu (2024)

Popcorn revenge movie

Pretty decent action / revenge flick Of course, no action movie would be complete without a healthy dose of adrenaline, and this film delivers it during the fighting scenes; which are very good choreographed, with wide shots, so you don't miss any of punches and the kicks.

There are moments of genuine heart and humanity that somehow elevate the film a little bit; but not to the point that it gets too emotional. .Whether it's a tender moment between two characters or a poignant revelation that changes everything, these emotional beats add some depth and resonance to the story. We have: the hero, the though cop, the silly cop, few ridiculous thugs, a (sometimes annoying) child ; all this in a popcorn movie. Do not expect too much. If you desire depth and rawness I would recommend : Death Sentence, Ballerina, I Saw The Devil.

Party Down (2009– )

More towards drama, then comedy

"Party Down" it's a meditation on the pursuit of happiness and fulfillment in an industry defined by ambition and uncertainty. Through its flawed yet relatable characters, the show offers insights into the human experience, reminding us of the complexities and contradictions that define our lives. In its exploration of love, loss, and the quest for meaning.

It's more towards drama, then comedy. Probably, I was expecting lots of laughs, and I didn't get that.

The only funny and corky character is Roman (Martin Starr) ;who always tries too much and never succeeds.

For big laughs, I recommend: Friends, Married With Children, Seinfeld, King Of Queens.

House of Ninjas (2024– )

Ninja fans ~ this is the one!

Want to say it from the start : I'm not in any way related to anyone from the series , nor do I have friends that work at the series.

^^^^^^^ If you enjoy action / ninja movies/tv shows, this one is for you. Simple put it : just watch it and don't let yourself influenced by bad reviews. We have :a great written story ( extremely easy to follow) with depth, enjoyable characters ( the grandmother doesn't have too many lines, but when she does, she a hoot ), action and many plot twists. There's love, betrayal, love again and betrayal again. It's not a slow burn serie (which some reviews say).

If you are into ninja films like the 2 "Ninja" ( Scott Adkins), Ninja Assassins or the classic ones from back in the days, you will definitely love this one. Really hope for a second season.

Bad casting ~ annoying characters~ horrendous script

The script is just bad ; the writing is so off and fake . I will go as far as saying is beyond fake. The characters behaved in a very strange manner and the way they talk..... is extremely annoyingly. It's like they struggle to say the lines. I think it's a mixture of atrocious, lazy dreadful writing and defective actor casting. There's no chemistry whatsoever. I did not feel anything for any of the characters. Now, I understand I am not supposed to feel something towards the bad guys, but there's not even one charismatic character.(including the bride)

The fight scenes / choreography is beyond amateurism. (fighting in a wedding dress is just idiotic)

Extremely forgettable movie.

Like I said, don't waste your time ; and if you really want to watch a black comedy I would suggest "Very Bad Things "

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)

Total letdown

I will keep it simple : if you enjoyed the first 2 ones, don't bother with Reborn. Everything is bad, the dialogue, the acting (so infantile and flat) , the boring and annoying characters ,but the atrocity of all atrocities are the special effects. Holly peepers!! Haven't seen so many bad effects since Birdemic.

Is like they are daring us to watch it and then say "oh well! It was kind of ok" IT WAS NOT.

The "team of professionals" who created, this movie were 100% not in their right minds. Actually the guilty ones were the ones who invested in this movie. Just watch or rewatch the first two films.

It's more than an action serise; it's about the human spirit, it's about willing hearts that go to extreme to prove the truth, it's about the corrupts and the filth of the politics, it's about a few that can make a difference...... And it's sooo much more. Has only 16 episodes. You have to watch it!!!!!

What is up with the cast in season 3??? The acting is..... how can I say this delicately "Birdemic and The Room bad". Do not waste your time with s3. Either watch the first 2 seasons or watch the full length movies.

*waste of time / please watch something else Whoever says they read the Punisher comics, they are lying. Cooome ooon! Punisher doing little jokes and talking like a wise guy. This is not Punisher. Jon Bernthal is extremely miscast. If you are in the mood for a revenge movie just watch "I Saw The Devil" (10/10)

I'll keep it simple : give this show a shot. Steve Carell and Malkovich, both funny. Steve being the goofy general and Malkovich, the "serious" scientist. The caracter Erin (Steve's daughter) extremely annoying. Typical teenager brat

You (2018–2024)

Nice socio fix

It's not Dexter, but it has that "nice killer" vibe. The writing is very good. The actor who plays the main character is doing a great job. I found myself kinda rooting for the anti hero. It has its romantic moments, its funny moments and its WTF moments. .... And get ready for some twists.

I have seen lots of good movies and animes, filled with suspense and tension, but " Gambling Apocalypse" is on a whole different level. The nail bitting moments are intense and very well written. The script is A+. Never cheered for someone, so hard, in a movie before.

Strange unsettle feeling

I have watched a loot of horrors, thrillers movies and tv shows, but this is the only one which gave me an uneasy, restless and tense feeling.... in a bad way. I really don't know how to explain it....Extremely bizzare.... I am not a skirmish person(. I can eat ,and at the same time watch Brain Dead),but whenever I was watching an episode I was having this anguished reaction. Like a crushing tension, in the back of my head. I push it through season 1 and half of season 2. Both seasons are erratic and bizzare, even by horror standards. In the end I decided to stop watching, by the middle of the 2nd season. I mean, why would I watch something that literally was giving me a headache.

Fantozzi contro tutti (1980)

Good Old school comedy

I started watching "Fantozzi" series, from 1990, on cable, on Italia 1. For me and others like me( early 40s), this type of comedy is funny. ( I am from Romania ; we lived under comunism regime for decades). There are some situations where I laughed so hard. I remember I was watching the movie, on tv, and the next day, me and some of my friends were re-enacting parts of the movie. Those were the days...... But, unfortunately, the new generation, does not get this type of humor. Is sad, but most of them don't even konw what a land line telephone is.

Into the Dark (2018–2021)

Good writing

I wanted to write this review , cause I recently watched Shudder Creepshow(so amateurish made). "Into The Dark" is so much better. The show is 1h20'' , which is enough for some character development, scares and thrills. Opposite to Creepshow , the acting is good. Hopefully we will have more than 2 season. Give it a try!

Extraordinary And Atypical boring

After seeing the movie I understand the incident with that guy that was on the phone in the theater during a screening. The film was excruciating boring; felt like was directed by someone else.

Where is their action he brought in Kill Bill or Inglorious or Django... where is the witty and smart dialog from Pulp, Reservoir, Hateful.

There's NONE!! Just do yourself a favor and re-watch some of his old movies.

Exceptional, remarkable and impressive. The only thing that needed was, maybe, 4 more hours and more deep insight about the movies . This documentary is a must for any horror fan/nerd.

Swamp Thing (2019)

I am on my second episode. Well : the story builds up ,sssslooooly. A lot of talking and talking and more talking and then we get to see Swamp Thing, just for a few minutes, at the end of ep 1 and 2. Already it's been announced that the show is canceled. Probably I am going to watch the whole season; just because I am curious.

The Punisher (2017–2019)

If you're a Punisher fan, not for you

I will keep it very brief. Major letdown.....How could they mess up so bad?! They probably wanted a new approach on the Marvel anti hero, but missed by far. The best Punisher run in comics is the Max one , from Garth Ennis . That's the rendition I want to watch.

The intrigue was sooooooooooo booring. Geeezz! The action is at the most 1-2/10. The dialogue long and not interesting, and yeah ..... in some episodes we see Punisher telling jokes. Yes ! That's right! The Punisher is telling dirty jokes. What a garbage!!! Just watch the last 2 episodes. That's where we get some explosions, shootings and hand to hand combat . That's the reason I gave it a 2 , for the last 2 episodes.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Welcome back, Chucky!

It's been 9 years since the last Child's Play(Seed Of Chucky). Compared to the last 3 Child's Play, this one is a blast.

I liked how the story tides itself to the rest of the franchise. The characters are pretty good developed, brutal graphic killings with a spice of giggles, gloomy atmosphere and just the right amount of tension.

In my opinion it should have had a bit more action and more killings. Hopefully we will get another sequel in the near future.

You don't have to be a Chucky fan to enjoy this movie.

Oh yeah! Watch after the credits roll.
