Fear the Walking Dead: Iron Tiger (2023)
Why Bring Back Madison?
Out of all the characters they could have brought back, why Madison. I was so relieved when she was "killed" off earlier in the series. She is definitely the 'Angela' of this series. You can write a great character but poor casting choice can destroy that, such as the aforementioned Angela of the original series. This whole bringing Charlie back and the Madison interaction is pretty lame. I'm not sure if it's the bad acting or bad writing. Victor is really the only character that is worth watching anymore and even he is annoying with his predictable lying all the time. I am finishing this series because I'm determined to complete it. So much potential. The story line of this episode is predictable: Go risk your life because I'm mad, nevermind, I changed my mind, oh no, it's too late, we must go rescue her.

Do better
Great concept but the acting is terrible. The lines and dialogue are tedious. The interaction between the characters makes the story timeline feel like it's actual time. In the first or second episode the parents go shopping. I felt like I was going shopping with them and not in a good way. Like, is this going to take 30 mins? The dad is supposed to be this mild mannered BA but he just comes off as pretentious and weak. The actors playing the parents are not pulling off the BA-by-night - responsible-parent-by-day thing. The whole show is weak. And of course you have 20 something's playing teenagers. This way we can pretend that teenagers have lots of grownup sex while navigating emotional immaturity in highschool. Watching this show turned into a joke with me and my spouse. Then we just had to stop when the parents went on a road trip and we felt like we were driving for hours too.
Fear the Walking Dead: Blue Jay (2023)
All these people should be dead
This episode is so predictable. There is now way experienced fighters/post apocalyptic survivors would get into the dilemmas that these characters get into. I know it's a show about zombies but plot lines are very unbelievable. The decisions that they make are nonsensical. No one would choose "saving" experienced adults over operating on a kid whose appendix "might burst at any moment." It feels like the writers have a formula they think works and just reuse it every episode. I think everyone on the show from actors to the person that empties the trash must be tired of doing this show. I have watched the whole series hopeful that it would get better but it's just gotten worse so far. Got to finish though.
Fear the Walking Dead: Remember What They Took from You (2023)
Struggling
FTWD's writing and acting hasn't always been great but they were just phoning it in with this episode. Morgan is supposed to he this awesome fighter yet gets disarmed so easily. It is painful to watch. Madison is just going to take out two guys by tripping them up with a sledge hammer? But that tends to be a theme with this show; awesome fighters who somehow get themselves into situations where they are suddenly helpless. This episode was one of the worst. Also, I was so happy when Madison "died." She's always getting into stupid situations by being the "tough mom." I am not pleased they brought her back.
SurrealEstate (2021)
Almost but Terrible Execution
It's like the whole cast and crew were playing on their phones while they were writing, filming, and acting this show. The lines fall flat. Acting is student film quality. It's like they filmed people they gathered off the street while they ran lines of material they're not familiar with. What in the world is this nonsense?! It's almost so bad it's funny but it's quite awkward and painful at times. It's like watching Goosebumps with the odd curse word here and there. The concept has potential but unless the whole cast takes some acting classes before season 2 I don't see this lasting long. Anything marked SyFy should be taken as a warning.
Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (2016)
Awful
Teen/post teen drama. Bad acting and predictable storylines.
Aftermath (2016)
Predictable
The show has an interesting premise but the acting is not great and the episode plots are predictable. Also Anne Heche's character trying to be military tough is annoying and unbelievable. I hate it when female actors think being a tough woman is acting like a tough guy. Another premise I find unbelievable is the military jargon and interaction with other military personnel. If you are trying to present a tough military character don't pick the Air Force. It's not believable. I know first hand that tough military doesn't describe most jobs in the Air Force. I watched 8 episodes and it didn't get any better. This is why I usually steer clear of most Canadian shows unless they team up with another country to create a series.
The 100 (2014)
Show is Okay
This show would be so much better without the main character Clarke. She's a stupid character. She's not tough or special, she's dumb. I can't completely blame it on the actress because I have never seen her in anything else but she's not that great either. They also killed off Wells too soon and they should never have gotten rid of Lincoln. Just when I think I'm getting too annoyed to continue watching they hook me in for the next episode. The different concepts around the people interaction are definitely interesting for Sci-fi fans. Unfortunately, a lot of good sci-fi story concepts are ruined by teenage drama. The writers definitely wear out the back and forth loyalty between the different groups of people. They don't do enough to justify people trading sides or extreme actions.
