Nice try. Almost was good
8 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is the story of a writer who goes to a retreat for writers block, run strictly by AI. Everything goes well until the robot watching her glitches. For pretty much the entire movie. We are wondering whether this is real or if it's something done by the retreat to get her writers block cured. The whole time. I thought it was intentionally done until the very end. When she realized she trapped, she tries a few things to get out. Her lack of logic and strictly going off. Emotions for many of these decisions was off putting. There was one sure way out, but Instead of focusing on finishing the story, she tries all these little things to get out. Hey wasn't that this movie was bad, It's just that it went on too long. The reward at the end was not as rewarding as hoped for, although it wasn't terrible.

My biggest problem was. Why would she there in the first place if She knew she wasn't an actual writer. How could there be a place like this? That didn't need any humans checking in. What happened to make the world go crazy with the virus. Wouldn't the people running the resort check in when they lost contact With the resort? Why does she intentionally antagonize rita so much, especially After it hurt her one night? How does she have an endless supply of cigarettes? I'm surprised her battery works after all that time there, Especially with her turning her alarm on all the time. When the door finally opened, Why didn't she at least walk outside before Reminiscing and allowing the door to close behind her? I half expected the door to close before she walked out.

Anyway, not a terrible movie, but not a great one, either. Keep your occupied and it's a little slow, but tbe acting is good enough and the plot good enough. Not bad.

It's OK, but why all the hype?
2 April 2024
Sometimes a movie comes along that gets a lot of good reviews and hype, but isn't really worthy of it. People want to seem sophisticated and so they also praise the movie, even though they may not really like it. I feel like all of the good reviews and hype compelled people to act like they really enjoyed this and think it was some masterpiece, similar to happened with the Lighthouse. That movie was well acted but horrible and had no point. This movie was well acted and at least had a plot. What we didn't get for sitting thru an extremely long movie was any satisfying conclusion. I kept expecting a twist or an explanation to what happened. We don't really get it. If you like long dialogues between people that contemplate reality and meaning of life stuff, maybe you will like this. The film felt preachy and arrogant, and if you didn't like it, you were too dumb to comprehend all it's meanings, so of course most people act like they "get it". I mean, it wasn't a bad movie, but it didn't have to be this long and it didn't have to be so hard to sit through. I realize some will like it, but it just wasn't for me. Maybe asking for movies like this to explain what really happened is too much to ask for, after sitting through all of that, but I wanted to know the truth at least, and not just her version of it. Meh.

Entertaining but highly illogical
1 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
So At least I got to watch this for free. It is not the worst movie I've ever seen. But it is one of the worst with dumb decisions by main characters. These guys are idiotic. I've never seen a movie where people were trapped, That had so many different ways of getting out. Even the worst choice that can make, Splitting up and running in three different directions, would have been better than what they did. Why Is it in every movie? We don't want the characters to split up, but they do, Put in the one we want them to, they don't? There are so many horrible decisions and stupid ones that make no sense, Like letting some of the water out. Of course, the security guard just yells and doesn't listen.

I will say that this movie could have been saved with a good ending. That tied everything together, but it did not. We are to believe this guy was just randomly hanging out and A. T m at two in the morning, just waiting for people to go inside? OK. I tried to be clever or lazy. I don't know, but at least the movie was semi entertaining and decently acted.

Into the Dark: Flesh & Blood (2018)
Season 1, Episode 2

Had such potential but the script let us all down
31 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This one started out with some pretty good potential. The plot draws you in, you get a little back story and become interested and think you are in for a good movie with a probable twist at the end. But you get no twists. Instead you get a movie that frustrates you with her dumb decisions and execution of them to a degree I almost turned it off. They make it so obvious it is the father, that you assume there will be some surprise at the end proving he isn't. Then you get the stupid ending, In which suddenly her phobia is healed. Really?

Even with all that I still actually kind of enjoyed watching this. It was engaging to a degree. Where it really falls short is the extremely dumb main character and when you actually start to dig in and ask questions.. things like how did she recognize the necklace in a quick picture flashed on the news? What teenager sits around even watching the late night local news for real? The only time she even watches TV the whole episode is the thirty second clip of the news that she happens to catch. Let's wait to explore the attic and dad's room right before he gets home. Yes makes sense. Even though he leaves you alone for long stretches, let's just do it when there is a good chance you get caught. Then, let's ignore the hole in the floor and step thru the ceiling. Her dad gives her sooooo many chances to back off and live another day. The smart thing would be to accept her dad's version, even if she didn't believe him. It would get him to back off and allow her a chance later to prove her accusations. But no, she continues to press her dad and force him to deal with her. You never put the killer in a situation where he has to kill you, especially when he doesn't want to. It makes no sense what she does. What was she even hoping to accomplish? She can't even go on the porch. She can't take care of herself. She sits at home and does nothing but mope around and get on her laptop. What did she think would happen if she turned her dad in? She uses zero logic and just goes on emotions. What did she think her dad would do when confronted? Just confess and turn himself in? Is she really that stupid to think that? The thought that he might try and silence her never goes through her mind.

There was one scene never explained as well they could have used as a twist. When the dad says that she fought with her mom that night and she had visions of confronting her mom about cheating on her dad.. Then they never talk about this again? Why? That same gave the only doubt throughout the whole episode that it might not be the dad, yet they don't do anything more with this. She's straight up, gets her therapist killed with her poor planning. Doesn't show any regret. Her dad even says she got her killed. How did the dad not taste the drugged tea.

The week before, she had a house in a dad who took care of her. Now she has no house, Has no dad, Has no income, Has no way to take care of herself, Is the daughter of a soon to be notorious serial killer, which will mark her as a pariah to society, yet smiles because she can leave the house without passing out. Yes, she's gonna have a great life ahead of her. If she had just taken more than thirty seconds to think about the situation, She could have had an exit strategy that didn't involve her dad getting killed, her therapist getting killed, her house burning down etc. But no, she had to be impulsive and show no control over her emotional outbursts.

This is an extra long review because wanted to like it more. It could have been special, but instead, it's just OK, not a bad time waster. But just another movie where they make the characters do dumb things to advance the plot.

Got some plot holes, but I really enjoyed it
28 March 2024
Okay. So there are some pacing issues and A complete lack of back story that makes it hard to figure out what's going on. There are a couple of plot holes that can be picked apart. If you can get past that, then you will enjoy this. The episode held me in the entire time, And there's enough Unpredictable stuff, going on to keep you guessing. This isn't the deepest episode, but on some levels it actually is, with the commentary on social media. This one took a little bit to get into, But once you get into it, I didn't want to turn it off. Overall, Just an enjoyable episode to watch. Not all of into the darkness episodes are for me, so This was a pleasant surprise.

Imagine The Lighthouse, but with an actual ending
27 March 2024
I really wasn't sure what to expect going into this. I have heard such mixed reviews that I really wasn't sure what I would be watching. It started off with some promise, and that quickly turned into what in the heck am I watching. Your emotions will run a lot of different ways while watching this. Someone else said it, but it's very true, does the ending justify watching it for that long to get to it. Imagine watching the Lighthouse, But with an actual ending that ties everything together. That movie didn't have it and it was very frustrating. This one has a pretty cool twist ending, but good god did it really need to take an hour and a half to get to it? This would have been a good hour-long episode of a show. Now that i've sat through it, I'm glad I did but and really didn't need to be that long. Usually movies like this, I like to rewatch to catch what I missed The first run through, but I have no desire to do that with this one. It's really not that bad if you can get past the middle to the end, but that meandering section keeps this from getting rated higher. If you are into this series, give it a try but just know, it's not the best of the bunch but definitely not the worst.

Another Feminist into the dark episode...
26 March 2024
Here we go again, another episode that either forces a topic that doesn't belong in a horror movie, or is just outright against certain things. This one goes after men and christianity. Of course, there will be high ratings by people who don't like those two things. A lot of these episodes are very woke. My main problem with them, is when they are forced in a movie like Crawlers, a movie about an alien invasion. Not the movie for it. This one doesn't force it, the whole movie is about it. It's over the top, with extreme characters and situations that would never rrakky happen.

Let's take the politics out and then just examine the movie. The plot is b movie at best, The execution is meh. The camera work isn't bad, some of the acting isn't bad, some is. Jo was good, the main character not so much. The ending was semi predictable.

I think it gets a lot of positive reviews because there are certain groups who love Movies that make fun of christians, and it gets a lot of negative reviews for the same reasons. The best episodes are the ones that don't involve politics or being woke or even being too conservative. I like a movie that doesn't try and preach. This one definitely does. Just tell us the story without trying to give us your political beliefs. It feels like that's more important than the movie. When that happens, it's never a good thing for the movie. Not sure why so many episodes in this series try and preach, rather than tell the story. It feels like the directors can't help themselves. I like a few of these episodes, but this wasn't one of my favorites. Obviously some people do like it and good for them. If you don't lean left, you probably won't like it though.

Into the Dark: Pilgrim (2019)
Season 2, Episode 2

You are rooting for the pilgrims to kill the main character
26 March 2024
So overall. I kind of like this episode, But they made the main character so annoying and pretentious, that you literally pull for her to die. Whenever a movie has the audience rooting against the main character, I feel like they've done something wrong. She's a brat, Who doesn't appreciate anything she has. It doesn't really give too much of a backstory as to how this family came about.

The pilgrims are creepy enough and well acted. Doesn't really explain where they come from or If they are supernatural or not. There are tons of plot holes.. They're multiple chances to go to the neighbors. Or call the police. I'm trying to keep this spoiler free. But you will see what I mean. It's just not the most realistic movie. But I don't think it was meant to be. Outside of hating the main character, I kind of enjoyed it even if it wasn't the best movie.

If you like Black Mirror you will like this
25 March 2024
I'm not the first person on here to say it. But this was just like an episode of black mirror. Set in the slight future with cool technology, It tells a story of a geneticist trying to fix her son and his murderous ways. What i also liked about this one as well, was there was no forced message put in like in other episodes. Previous episodes brought up serious topics but topics that really don't belong in a horror movie, and felt forced. This one just sticks to the actual movie script, and doesn't try and give us a political lesson.

As for the actual movie, There are parts that are predictable, but parts that are not. The acting is good, The pacing a bit slow at times, But it's entertaining and keeps you engaged. I like this episode more than others Of this series. I would rank it somewhere in the middle of black mirror, not at the top or not at the bottom. I know it's odd comparing one series to another. But since somebody alreadyou are, just throwing it in there.

Not bad.. not great
25 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Like so many of this series this wasn't horrible, but it also wasn't great. Could have been done in a lot less time. It does a good job of keeping you guessing whether The guy is crazy or the president. There are some plot holes.. Why do they go to such elaborate means to treat him, yet never just take him outside or show him the news? He gets an awful lot of personal attention for just being a regular crazy. Why does the secretary of state continually call him the president? Why is there a guy in a suit, Always watching him if he isn't the president. Why Do they try and wipe his memory? Do the staff never take a day off? It's always the same people there. Just seems like there are easier ways to treat him than what they do. Not sure they would go to such elaborate means for a run of the mill politician, But also not sure they would send him to such a crazy hospital, If he was just a politician who lost his memory. But the movie kept me watching and entertained a little bit. It wasn't horrible and keeps you guessing at least.

Single mom movie, not horror movie
25 March 2024
I thought this was supposed to be a scary movie or close to it. About 90% of this movie., it's just about a single mom struggling and showing everything she will do to protect him. It makes no sense how she can keep affording to move yet has no money. The mom does a good enough job with her role, the kid is more annoying. He doesn't listen to his mom, even though he knows he is dangerous. My main problem is nothing really happens till the end, and even then it's over quite quickly. Most of the movie is just about the mom doing day to day stuff, showing how much she loves her son. Single moms will love this movie, but for the rest of us, it's boring. It's not scary, showing the creature at the end is a joke, and boring. It starts off as a good premise and something unique, which I'll give it credit for. That's why I gave it three stars, At least it's different. But the plot could have been a lot better. This felt like more of an homage to the single mom than an actual horror movie. But after watching many episodes of this series, I should not be shocked, as most seem more concerned with adding in a message than making a good movie.

Entertaining if you take out the me too parts
25 March 2024
I actually enjoyed watching this. The story was good enough, the pacing was good, the actors were good, was the plot, while over the top, was fun. There are 2 main characters and one of them. I really liked in the other one I didn't. The conspiracy theorist Shauna was funny and intelligent, while Misty was more concerned about talking about sexual assaults and the consequences of it. While that's a serious topic. I don't know if it really belongs in a movie like this. It felt forced, Like the director wanted to make a movie, And add in some politics. This was supposed to be a fun campy movie, that keeps you entertained, not a movie about being no one believing women who claim sa. Just felt out of place.

My only other main to concerns were the number of times people yelled "Chloe!" And why Misty was so obsessed with finding her, and the end. It was way too easy, and the idiotic decisions made while there. I don't wanna have to mark this as having spoilers, so I won't go into it, but if you watch it, you'll know what i'm talking about. But it does seriously get annoying hearing Chloe yelled and being cared about so much, when she isn't a good person and they all have friends to worry about losing.

Overall, I liked the movie and enjoyed it though. Can't take it too serious though but it entertained well enough.

Scooby-Doo meets the Breakfast Club
22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Movie has some potential here. Start off like The Breakfast Club with everybody showing up for detention on Saturday. The main problem I have with this is the terrible decisions the characters make. The first rule of a horror movie is to stick together. These guys keep wandering off one at a time. In one scene, Literally, four people go in four different directions. I get you have to come up with reasons to separate people so they can get murdered, But that scene was over the top. Hey, there's a bloody trail, where somebody obviously has dragged a dead body.. let's scream out names in case the killer is close by so the killer can hear. Then let's split up one more time. Was but horrible, but The bad kids didn't really seem too bad, they looked like good kids trying to play bad kids. It can waste sometime if you need it to and you won't get too angry, but it's not the best.

Into the Dark: They Come Knocking (2019)
Season 1, Episode 9
3/10
Had such potential
22 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Starts out very good. Comes across as an actual good plot, good set up, and gives some background so you care about the characters. Things start to get a little creepy, and we see the first encounter. It's scary and chilling, and leaves you wanting more. Well done so far. Then..the bad decisions start. Hey, let's leave my 2 kids alone after a night if fighting off a home invasion. What in the hell do the guy in the trailer have to do with anything? Why not look for more bullets? What's with the stack of water bottles outside the trailer that looked like it had been there for 5 years? Maybe i'm slow, But I couldn't put anything together from that scene. One thing we do know is that we're pretty safe as long as we stay in the trailer.. So let's not stay in the trailer. Make sure you have the little kid Lock herself in the room you can't get into but has a window that somebody can break into. Let's make her annoying and not listen. Is the mom good or bad? Oh look there's a trailer in the middle of a creepy park that you can't see inside.. I'm just gonna walk inside it, Nothing bad could happen. Who in the hell are these kids that look like? They have a sack cloth on them? Could they not afford more than two dollars for the costume? What do they have to do with it anyway? Why is the annoying little kid running around playing Hide And seek with the parents, right after she was shown murdered? Does she not remember any of this? Oh my sister just got kidnapped, Let me grab my mom's ashes and run with them while searching for her against demonic kids. I mean, they're still more things I could point out. You don't have to have complete closure. But you have to explain at least what in the world is going on. Was this all hallucinations? Why do walkie talkies only work partial?

Such a promising start, Maybe i'm being harsh on it because it had so much potential and did such a good job, the first half. If it felt like it was trying to be the movie Step Mom by showing the mom in bed talking to her kids over and over. If you start this you'll get invested, but by the end you'll be angry.

No Exit (I) (2022)
5/10
Had many things going for it but many things against it
18 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is a quick little movie that held my attention to the whole time. It starts out as a who done it, But then evolves into an action movie. The characters are pretty good, Although I was not into the main character. Darby, as much as everybody else was on here. She makes terrible decisions at the beginning and continues with some bad ones throughout. She makes up some of it with some smart ones, but, it's hard to overlook the bad ones. My main problem with this was the plot and the unrealistic scenarios. As many have said on here, The blizzard was just ridiculously small to shut down the roads. It was cold but not too cold for people running out without jackets. Of course, we have no cell phone service there.. Can't make a movie where there is cell phone service these days. Of course, later they magically get cell phone service. Movies with inconsistent cell phone service are annoying to me. At the end it was the plot twist of what they were doing with the kidnapped girl that really kept this a lower score for me. Instead of ransoming the girl for a heck of a lot of money, They wanted to kidnap a small child and traffic her? If all they needed was a kid, Why did they pick one that was so sick and constantly needed medicine? Makes zero sense. Why did they pick a kid they have to have some elaborate plan to kidnap? There are less wealthy kids that easily could have been targets and easier to get. The wife of Ed had to be a maid and a nurse? How did she convince her husband to be at this certain location in the middle of a blizzard? She fell for this scam and never met the people and just took the word of people she met online? Just a way too ludicrous plot.

Into the Dark: Down (2019)
Season 1, Episode 5

Starts out well enough but too many bad choices
18 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
We get the two men characters meeting in an elevator that gets stuck. The interaction it's pretty good, And they remain pretty calm early on. I doubt that if I got stuck in an elevator with a beautiful woman that she would decide to have sex to pass the time, so that part didn't seem realistic.

Then the bad decisions start happening, which made it really annoying. She could have just gotten off the elevator when he stopped it, But no, she had to threaten him while she was still trapped. Then she has another opportunity, And you would have thought she learned her lesson from the first time. But no, She decides to flip him off when she gets out of the elevator but Has not escaped yet. This one really Bothered me. The first one you could say was emotional and in the heat of the moment.. She still had to climb and escape from the elevator shaft. The thought never occurred to her that she might need him?? Ridiculous.

I did like the bad guy in a way. They sometimes made the guy good and you almost liked him in certain scenes, but then made him crazy in the others. When you make somebody out just completely evil, It's not always the most realistic scenario. The truth is usually in the middle. She was no angel in this, and simply made some bad choices like getting them trapped for real.

I guess the guy never watched zombie land and never heard of the double tap. Using that once in a show is pushing it, But faking being unconscious twice in a movie is just ridiculous. He did it to her and then she did to him later. You would have thought he would have checked more than just to look at her, Especially after he pulled the same move before!! I Don't like his plan at the end.. Setting the dumpster on fire would Attract fire department and police.. Which is exactly what he did not want to do. Why not just dump her in the dumpster and cover her?

This movie was entertaining enough for me to watch and not get too mad at it, but when you thought about it after, So much of it didn't make sense. Or didn't seem realistic. Not bad to waste an hour and a half, But nothing that will keep you remembering it long after. Had they gotten rid of the bad decisions, It could be a little more memorable.

Not bad...till the end
13 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The first part of this movie wasn't terrible. The only thing annoying was the kid not listening to his father, Knocking coffee on a woman, and nearly falling off the train. It's like they tried to make him cute. But they made him super annoying. The plot wasn't terrible but really didn't go into a lot of detail why it was happening. About three fourths through, The movie goes off the rails. I don't know how you take a carriage off the train and be on the wrong side and not realize it. It doesn't really explain how the old man fell, And how he was able to jump off the train in time, while it was exploding. He couldn't jump before because of his knee, and then he magically has the power to run the full length of the train before the explosion. I'm not sure why movies like this make everyone bicker and yell at each other constantly. People do irrational things and act over the top. Even with all of the negatives, I watched till the end because I was invested. It's not all bad, But a promising movie was ruined by some arnold schwarzenegger ending that came out of nowhere. Add the scene Where the train actually stops and everyone gets mad. At the dad for trying to get his kid off.. And of course, the kid does not listen and runs off. Wow he's so cute. I'm not sure why hollywood thinks kids disobeying their parents and not following rules is now the cute thing to do. But if you catch it for free, This movie will entertain even with all of the negatives. If you are like me and pour through the free movies, You can still give this one a spin. It's not terrible.

Conspiracy (2008)
5/10
You could love it or hate it
12 March 2024
There are two things to discuss with this movie.. The movie and the politics of the movie. First the movie. It's not bad. Val Kilmer is not at his best. He seemed over weight for the part, the character he portrays sometimes seems very smart, and sometimes very moody. He does not seem like a nice guy till the end. It could be because he is not happy in his life, until the end. The plot is o k, but a little absurd, but it keeps you engaged. The acting isn't bad, but it's not great either. The casting is odd, as the bad guy isn't exactly someone I would think is a bad ass, although he does well with it. It's a standard script, with a twist at the end, or 2. It's not bad but not memorable. A perfect 5 rating.

Then there is the politics. Half of the viewers will love this and half hate it. Liberals will love it, as it shows that American white men are evil and trying to kill a peaceful minority simply trying to work hard, and who break no rules, other than trying to make their life better for their family. Obviously, non liberals will not like it for the exact same message the movie sends. It makes out anyone trying to protect the border is bad. So your political viewpoint can influence how you view this. So another reason for a 5. Half will like this simply bc of the politics and Half will not. The plot is over the top with the evil corporation to the evil border guards, I don't think its political message can be taken very serious. I was not a fan of the politics, but at the same time, It was just so extreme that I couldn't take it seriously, which made me not really care about the politics that much.

So you may like it you may not, But it's not a horrible movie. It's nothing that you will remember long after you watch either. Kills 2 hours decently enough if needed.

Really good
12 March 2024
I happen to love the type of movies where people wake up in the room and have no memory of how they got there. I don't think there's a term for them, but i purposely seek them out. This one did not disappoint. Usually these type of movies I find are low budget, And while this one may not be big budget, It's certainly doesn't feel low budget. The acting is good, the plot good enough, and the movie is shot well. It keeps you guessing with all of the memories everyone has, Especially with not all of them being correct. I like to check out the reviews of a movie before I watch them, And if you happen to stumble across mine, Just know, this one is definitely worth a watch. I also enjoyed the fact that you care about the characters, And they don't do too much stupid stuff to advance the plot, outside of the phone incident. These days there are many free movies offered on some apps and people come here to check out reviews before watching. Give this one a shot for sure, you will not regret it.

Surprisingly good

If you are like me, I will scroll through the free movies and then come to the reviews and see whether they are worth watching. I don't go by the score alone, I will check out the reviews as well. This one had a decent score and reviews, so I watched it. It did not disappoint. It was very entertaining and pretty well acted, although maybe a bit over the top at times. You will recognize most actors byou their face, even if you can't remember their names. The script draws you in and you will want to watch it to the end to see what happens. It's entertaining and keeps you guessing. The negatives include a lot of blood, so not foelr the squeamish or kids. I also didn't like how inept they made the police officer, as I doubt any police officer would act like that, and not sure what the point of 2 of the characters was. (Trying to keep this spoiler free)After the first five minutes, they barely have any lines. It's almost like they won a contest to be in a movie. The twist, was good, but not too hard to figure out if you thought logically. When I thought about the big question about half way thru, it could really only be one person.

So in summary, If you come across this movie and you are debating watching it, Give it a watch. You won't regret it, in my opinion. It's much better than many of the other free movies out there.

Hard to finish
10 March 2024
Gets a star for a decent idea and a star for trying. As others have said, The budget on this one wasn't very big. I can get past that if the plot and the acting or decent enough. When one of these types of movies has so many plot holes, It's just hard to finish. The crew they send on this ultra daring mission is baffling. When anything "exciting" happens, they all begin screaming at each other, and it's hard to follow what is going on. Doesn't do a good job of setting up the plot, or explaining what's going on. I mean it's a free movie so it's not like I had to pay to watch it, So that's a bonus. But too many things that just don't make sense, and bad decisions make this hard to even watch.

The Rig (2023– )

It's not great but I still liked it
5 February 2024
So first the bad stuff. The characters do stupid stuff. Don't split up, Stay insight of each other... So the first thing they do is split up and then get out of each other sight. Some characters are extreme exaggerations with no impulse control. Many are clichéd. You don't really know what's going on most of the time and it really doesn't explain it. It's hard to understand some of the British accents and understand what they're saying. It didn't look like it was shot on an oil rig for some scenes.

The good stuff. I like all the actors. While the plot was kind of tough to overall understand, I just really enjoyed watching it. It sucked me in and I want to see season 2 now. There are plenty of things end scenes that will drive you crazy, but overall once you get into it you will stay into it.

Really not that bad
3 February 2024
Okay so this isn't the best movie ever but it's not as bad as many of the reviews have it pegged. I was able to get into it and enjoy most of it. It goes along on a nice pace and doesn't drag very much. Some of the acting as good some of the acting is bad but overall it's okay. The plot has you guessing, But of course you question some of the stupid decisions the characters make. Trying not to give away too much but when a game master in a movie tells you not to do something, you don't do it. When they show you the consequences of not complying, you don't continue to not follow instructions. Not sure why characters keep doing dumb decisions in movies and writers keep writing it this way. It doesn't give away the twist ending either. When you watch this type of movie, generally you want a movie that keeps your attention the whole time and this one did. Parts of it are lame for sure, but Just know it's not horrible.

Great first half, cheesy second half
3 February 2024
The first part of this movie was actually really good. It built up suspense and we got to know the characters. While on the plane everything was a nice psychological thriller. Nothing too crazy except you keep wondering why she doesn't comply. They play a cat and mouse game that keeps you interested.

Others have given it more detail but needless to say I really enjoyed the first half. Then the plane lands. I don't know what happened to the movie I was watching. So many cliches. She gets no cell service, At a major airport? She's about to run out of battery even though she hasn't used her phone the whole trip almost? She runs past numerous policemen who could have helped her while a terrorist chases her. She can't drive without going all over the highway. The killer of course toys with her. You have the Karen couple who complains non-stop, even after an attempt on the politician staying there. Rachel McAdams turns into Rambo and outsmarts and is more physical than the terrorist. Even after being thrown down a flight of stairs she can still function well enough. I get that some movies are over the top on purpose but everything after it lands defies logic and just isn't the same movie we were watching earlier. The best part of the movie is the interaction between the two main characters. Still gets a six from me because of the great first half, but I didn't want a cheesy action flick the second half.

One of my favorite episodes
3 February 2024
I have seen some other reviews that do a very thorough job of giving synopsis of the episode, So I won't go into too much detail about the episode's plot. There are some plot holes if you watch the shortened version, that I am sure are addressed in the longer version. I remember a couple times wondering what was going on with a certain student of his, And why he was acting the way he did. But what I like about this episode is the interaction between the students and Quincy, And how once again he has to fight city hall to prove he is correct. Eventually you would think people would start believing him when he is always correct. What I really liked was that this was CSI before CSI was a thing. I always find it fascinating to watch '70s shows and looking in the background at what life was like back then as well. I know when I get into a Quincy binge, this is one of the episodes I always like to watch. Overall it's just one of my favorites.
