Badla (2019)
Bollywood really needed this one....
Wow, that's what we call engaging the viewers in the film right from the introduction of characters to the climax where the bar is being raised at every second to a level that not many movies are made to touch. The way each and every character is being questioned from time to time by the characters themselves and a parallel analysis that the viewers are doing while playing the game of 'Who's the murderer?' in their conscious minds while under the influence of perfectly brewed thriller is something that can kick in the bloodstream of a dead man to wake up in the coffin and knock heavily from the inside until the climax unfolds. It's not just a movie, it's what I'll call art. Hat's off to Ghosh sir. Got to learn a lot from such amazing artists.
Chalard games goeng (2017)
Never watched a movie as engrossing as this before.
Wow, that was something we can call a masterpiece. In a way, the efforts of the makers to involve in the film seem to be successful from every point of view. Be it the concept, plot, characters or the 'adrenaline shots' of the tension being created. It has definitely set a benchmark in the genre. If filmmaking is all about engaging the audience, then its a tough competition to the geniuses out there.
Broken But Beautiful (2018)
Perhaps the best web series about love and relationships that I've ever watched.
Well, never mind the Bollywood movies being released these days(especially Thugs of Hindostan). The quality of web series in the country is booming like anything. The thing that forces me to write a review about a series(for the first time in my life on IMDb) that too, at 3:47 in the morning lies in its concept. Love and relationships have always been a hot topic in our lives. Most of us would admit that the way we deal with it might have been that of a novice. Believe me, when you'll get up after watching the 11th episode, you'll be like, has anybody ever made a better show in this genre? Every episode kept me on the edge. Well, let me tell you that getting this feedback from the audience is easy if the series is Bose, Sacred Games or Mirzapur(seems like 'web series ke acche din aa gaye'). The complete psychology of love, heartbreaks, the pain behind it, the ways to mend it, all is so brilliantly clubbed together in the form of a superbly written script that I'd like to talk to the writer and director of the show at this very moment. Superb script, direction and acting. Hat's off man. Great.
