The Pepsi-Cola Playhouse: The House Nobody Wanted (1953)
Is he, or isn't he?
A newlywed couple buys a house of their own. The problem? The housed was owned by another couple before them. A 40 something year old lady with money, and her younger, 27 yr old new hubby. He strangles her, and looks for the money she has hidden. He flees the house, and there's an all point bulletin out on him. The new couple who own the house have a nosy neighbor whom the wife has befriended. She tells her the killer may come back to find it. He is described as young and handsome, like her hubby. Is he, or isn't he. Interesting little episode.
Bewitched: A Majority of Two (1968)
Offended?
The only thing I find slightly ridiculous is the poor acting skills of Richard Haydn playing an Asian. Doesn't come close to sounding legit. And he's usually a fantastic actor. As for the storyline, pretty much a bore. Just not the same without Darrin. And if your offended, don't watch.
The Millionaire (1955)
A ton of money
A multi millionaire decides to give a million dollar check to strangers, the only string attached is they can't tell anyone how the got that money, except for their spouses. Each week, we see how it effects their lives. A total of 207 episodes were made, and although we never find out how much money he has, he gave away $207 million. Interesting show, that makes you wonder how you'd react to this situation.
Cheers: If Ever I Would Leave You (1985)
Nick being Nick
Carl's ex husband, Nick Tortelli, shows up at Cheers. His wife has left him, and he wants Carla back. He seems to really want her back. Meanwhile, Norm asks Sam about Coach (who's been away from Cheers for awhile). As he explains, the look on Ted Dansons face, and the sound of his voice, you can tell he was broken up about Nick Colasantos death. He would appear in 2 more episodes, filmed before his death.
Frasier: Miracle on Third or Fourth Street (1993)
Christmas Day
Frasier plans on celebrating Christmas with his son Fredrick. Joyfully looking forward to this, he gets a call from Lilith, saying she's taking Freddy to Europe instead. Frasier then agrees to fill in for Bulldog at the station. He shows up wearing a torn sweater with blue jeans (never explained), and listens to many depressing callers. Nice ending, and definitely a classic episode.
Zane Grey Theatre: Honor Bright (1961)
Honor Bright
I thought this might be a dull episode, but I was thankfully wrong. I agree with the others that this is the best of Zane Grey. It was a good series, but this one was the best. It showed great dramatic performances from real life father and daughter, Danny and Marlo Thomas, you know, she's That Girl. I rarely post reviews, but that's how good this was. Enjoy!
Wagon Train: The Lita Foladaire Story (1960)
Not very interesting.
Maj. Adams finds a woman badly injured. He brings her into town, when he finds out she is the wife of a friend of Adams, the Captain in his Calvary unit. Her husband is away, so the major decides to look for the killer. He talks to family members and friends, and then they go into several boring flashbacks that don't involve any of the main cast. After awhile, it just doesn't matter.
