Finch (2021)
Hanks using his political stance again in his films 5/5 Dont run out to rent it.
To know Tom Hanks and watch this film you can see that as its about the climate and saving it or "What we should have done" its got a massive political message embedded in the film.
I have no issue saving the earth and even if it means costing us our race, the planet should always be first but 'Leave the politics out of your films Tom!'.
The film never gets off the ground tbh, we have a robot that hanks makes and a dog as well as hanks in it.
The message is always clear all the way through and its a simple one...but i'll leave that to you to find it.
The couple errors I found were:
A vehicle that never needs fuel or if its ran on solar it never dies?
The dog and when it looks at the robot the eye contact is way off and even when its looking at hanks the dogs eyes are looking either too high or just not in direct sight?
IF you want an action film, This is NOT for you because there is none, its a sloooooow story about a man who lives on his own and wants to go to the golden gate bridge...the story is very dire and not a lot more than that.
Monsters of Man (2020)
Too much crying and not enough realism, BUT deffo worth a watch.
The film would deffo be interesting to some Sci-fi buffs, However it is one of them films where there is wayyyyy too much crying from people on it? Almost every time you see the group there are one or more people crying or screaming rather than being quiet and trying to figure out how to get away from where they are? I mean I would say that around 85% of the time you see the group someone is crying and it gets a bit boring after a while...
Ths CGI is a comfortable 8/10, the plot is a 6/10 a kinda "Seen it all before" type of story, The acting is really good thou! the only weakness I found was with Boller's realism (Jose Rosete) as he seemed to be giving out an aggressive attitude that didn't fit the character,
The two IT guys acted great and realistic who took most of the pressure in the film as they where the main two people if you ask me.
Overall I did skip a lot of parts of the 2:11 minute film more so where the camera was on the group of people and yet again someone was crying...
I think if they reduced the volume of crying it would cut the film down to about an hour an half, Honestly there really is more crying on this than any other film I have seen and it really ruined it for me.
I would NOT give the film a low score because a good deal of effort was clearly put into it but thats not without weaknesses and plot holes, So a generous 6/10 for me! it lost 3 points due to the "Crying Tsunami" and lost another point for the plot which could of been slightly changed and made a lot of difference.
It is worth the watch IF you can handle the crying...
Papi Chulo (2018)
Loved it and felt sucked in but due to personal relevant reasons, such a lovely film.
I loved this film because I can really relate to it on a personal level.
My wife is from South America and I have been a lifelong sufferer of what is known as CPTSD, I have suffered traumas as a child but also in the last 15 years had 14 people died including 3 best friends, aunties, uncles and my father. Sometimes you have to ask how people live through these traumas.
So for me this film and the main actor who's name in the film is Sean who is also suffering from PTSD due to losing someone he loved I can feel his pain and he was crying out for someone to be just company to him who he could talk to,
The film was in my opinion no masterpiece BUT it wasn't far off, I think the negative reviews on here are from people who can't profoundly relate to Sean's pain and his situation.
Some people would of expected more action or just a different film, It was just a really put together well film that has an uncanny amount of love in it.
The actors both Sean and Ernesto plaid a fantastic role with outstanding skills and both my wife and I didn't get bored for a single second, I would love to see a second version of this film but without ruining their bond that both Ernesto and Sean built on very unusual circumstances.
Overall the film for me gets a 9/10. It was a film I would deffo watch again.
Brexit: The Uncivil War (2019)
ITS AMAZING, ITs truthfull and it shows you behind the scenes.
I wont write a long review as I am near the end of the film-docu. but its been an eyeopener for me! I am an Avid BREXITEER. But one who has made his mind up with my wife is is from another country outside the EU.
We had to deal with the EU some years ago when my wife had to apply for a visa to come and stay here in England, The hoops the EU legislations made her jump through were shocking! Criminal background checks for both of us and it cost use around 3000 Euros and took 2.5 years to finalise, YET we are seeing people land on our beaches or be invited in by the left with open arms who we know nothing about? My wife has degrees in teaching and specialises in teaching kids with Aspergers, ADHD ect but we still had to go through all the rigma, How is this right?
For me the Film-Docu shows how flawed the eu and its machine is, how one sided the left and eu are.
IF you want a great insight into the truth you MUST watch this!
The Shallows (2016)
i thought it was really good BUT the effects let it down
I watched this without knowing about the film so i was apprehensive to say the least, i enjoyed it the idea was new the acting was great by all of the actors, the location was perfect and the shark was realistic, however what did let it down for me was the blood effects they where either cgi or cheap fake blood? it didn't look like real blood to me in fact when she was bleeding in the water the redness from the blood was a pretty desperate attempt to convince people, such a shame cause had they of spent more time and money on the effects it would of got a 9/10 for me, its still a really good film and yes i would watch it again.
