The Least of These: The Graham Staines Story (2019)
Hard Truths that need to be told
I have given this a good rating only because the Graham Staines story desperately needed to be told, and this is the only film trying to tell it. It is important to remember three things: 1) Whenever Christians are attacked by Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists or Communists in Third World countries, the first thing the authorities do is arrest the Christian victims and refuse to release them until they drop all charges against their attackers. Gladys Staines' rush to "forgive" these criminals may have been in order to spare Indian Christians, who have lived in India for 2000 years, from arrest and further attacks.
2) Christians make a terrible mistake in rushing to forgive murder, & assault without any sign of repentance from the criminal, because as Jesus taught us clearly in Luke 17:3 "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and IF HE REPENT, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I REPENT; thou shalt forgive him."
3) The oddly-chosen Indian director of this film, whose previous film was about the Kama Sutra sex manual, seemingly tried to "justify" this horrific crime, by distracting attention away from the true motive for the attack: the devout Christian father and his two young sons were offered as a ritual human fire sacrifice to Kali, the Moon Goddess of Death, "Mother Goddess of All India", who is also worshipped using the Sanskrit name "Allah". That is why they were burnt alive. Human sacrifice of children to Kali is still a big problem in India today, though little known in the West.
Thor (2011)
Magnificent
Well done to Kenneth Branagh for this superb work of cinematic art! The casting, script, music & photography capture the sweeping sense of grandeur of these ancient Norse legends. Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Odin is just magnificent in all the films, as is Chris Hemsworth's Thor. Tom Hiddleston was born to play Loki, and the actors playing Freya, Lady Sif & the Warriors Three were perfect for their roles.
Back on earth, Clark Gregg's "Phil Coulson" always manages to sparkle in even the briefest appearances. The only thing that lowered the tone was the part with Jane Foster, her un-amusing friends, and the awkward "romance" that strained all credulity. They proved to be even more embarrassing in the Thor sequel "The Dark World", so it was a relief when they were omitted from Thor Ragnarok.
The ending scene with Odin and Thor showed the quiet warmth and deep affection between father and son that was truly beautiful to behold.
The Shack (2017)
Satanic, Anti-Christian Blasphemy
This film is shocking, satanic BLASPHEMY against God, against Christ, against the Holy Spirit, against the Christian New Testament, and against any Christians foolish enough to be deceived by its smooth, honey-tongued deception. Shame on all associated with making this anti-Christian filth, typical of these End Times.
Son of God (2014)
Diogo Morgado was superb as Jesus
Diogo Morgado was superb as Jesus, humbly trying to carry out God's will. His divine light and compassion kept shining through, drawing the people to Him. The whole story was told in a simple, clear manner that was easy to understand. The music and photography were beautiful as well. The only quibble is the Marxist Politically Correct insertion of an African "wise man" and an African carrying Christ's cross for Him. There is absolutely zero evidence for either of these. Zero. First, the man who carried the cross was Simon from Cyrene, a city populated by Jews and majority Greeks, until the Jews revolted and massacred all the Greeks. Simon is a Greek & Hebrew name. He was not African.
Secondly, the "African Balthazar" myth was invented in the 8th century AD by the English monk Bede. His bizarre proclamation was ignored until it suddenly popped up again centuries later. So 800 years after the birth of Christ, one English monk decided to add a bit of "extra diversity" to the New Testament, and this complete fabrication was solidified in the popular mind about 700 years later. Can we stop feebly going along with this fraud, and depict the Three Kings "FROM THE EAST" as the Gospel of Matthew says? In the 6th century, they were depicted as Persian, which makes more sense, doesn't it?
Risen (2016)
Splendid and Inspiring
This film is splendid and inspiring, beautifully performed by the whole cast, and well-supported by the music, photography & script. I loved the way it depicted the joy of the Apostles, because that's what Christ's message was all about: the Joy of Redemption for all our sins. Only two things were wrong with it, in my view: too much focus on exhuming the bodies, and poor casting choices for Jesus & Mary Magdalene, pushing the Marxist Politically Correct Propaganda that Jesus was a dark Sephardic Jew dressed in black, who looked more like the Muslim Mahdi, and pushing the old Catholic propaganda that the Magdalene was an infamous prostitute, which is all wrong. The Magdalene was a runaway sex slave, kidnapped and enslaved since childhood like "The Levite's Concubine", who escaped back to her family and Jesus for protection. And Jesus had light hair like His Father in heaven, in whom Jesus said "THERE IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL".
As gifted Jewish actor Joseph Fiennes walked away into the desert at the end, I saw in him ALL the Jews walking away from God's offer of redemption, rejecting His Beloved Son. I wish they could hear Jesus calling out to them.
Little Boy (2015)
Anti-American Propaganda
I watched this hoping it would be a warm, nostalgic depiction of 1940s America, only to find it was subtle Anti-American Propaganda, even Anti-Christian. Almost every American of European origin was depicted in a negative light, and Christianity depicted as having no answers, while the "heroes" were Third World immigrants, Japanese samurai and magicians pushing the occult message to children that they have "special magical powers", and don't need God. The other message to children is that it is OK to go into a strange man's home with him alone, and to cheat in a fight, by whacking your opponent with a metal lunchbox in the face, or shooting them with a poisoned dart. I hope people will wake up to the subversive propaganda often presented in movies.
The Young Messiah (2016)
Magnificent
This film is absolutely MAGNIFICENT. Every single one of the cast was superb in their roles, the photography, script, music--- all of it, just magnificent.
