The Jewel of the Nile (1985)
Very outdated
Completely unbearable electro 80 music add a nice cherry of outdated charm to a nice cake of nonsensical and quite uninteresting scenario.
Quite outdated too, like in romancing the stone, are the ethnic clichés you can have here by the dozen.
Quite okayish, provided you have some large amounts of beer, pizza and buddies to laugh at this very guilty pleasuring movie.
El reino (2018)
Interesting but...
Great story, great acting.
The tension builds up, to a good finale.
But WHY the constant trembling, for no spontaneous reason? Felt nauseous all along the movie, and so i will differ on the realisation, which i'm forced to consider bad : I'm not paying a seat to be sick.
Nochnoy dozor (2004)
A giant clip
The main topic could have been interesting. Yes, it was the thousand-ly-seen fight between good and evil, but in Russia, and alongside with normal human, this would have been interesting, like the "World of Darkness" the role-players know. But... this is more a clip than an actual film. The action scenes made me sick, and the "documentary" interest about Russia is lost in this ill-going rhythm, too fast, or too slow. Kind of a "Matrix" without the million-dollar effects and with bullet-time sequences uninteresting enough to fall asleep.
A real deception. 5/10 for the topic and the hope the two sequels will be better...
San ging chaat goo si (2004)
Honest!
Scenario : some incoherence, and easily predictable end, but the whole thing works out... the flash back, in the beginning, is welcome. Some 'clowning' by JC, but more acceptable than those in his latest buddy movies...
Filmo : fights are shot very honestly IMO. Blasts everywhere, and that's cool.
Act : Serious. Not to get back on the duo Chan-Young... It's bizarre to see JC drunk to sickness, but I think it's welcome. Tse, does a lot to be seen... too much ^^'
OST : I already forgot it! Will not be on my top ones.
Overall : this film is an enjoyable entertainment. Not actually one of the better movies I've ever seen, but you can have the film you paid for, which is the principal, doesn't it?
