Nightmare (1981)
Well how did I miss this flipper???
There's few more knowledgable than myself on the films that were banned throughout the 70s and 80s (mostly completely unjustifiably so), and even in recent times I've the studied the "video nasties" list vehemently! And yet somehow this cracker slipped through my net!!??
For an early 80s gorefest it's actually pretty damn good! Excellent direction, decent script and EVEN more than acceptable acting!! Not to mention the very cute Danny Ronan who seemingly never featured in anything else ever since! With her incredible ass, feet and very unique face. Unique as in not the stereotypical "good looking" broad that I simply cannot stand, but literally a face that cannot ever be replicated.
The gore was mixed. Some of it fairly realistic, other parts blatantly plastic af, but at least the blood wasn't luminous orange like most terribly done 70-80s jobs!
If it had had some unforgettable sound track like say Halloween and maybe been a bit less sick, it doubtlessly would've been a mainstream classic far superior to the John Carpenter jobbie!
Still can't believe I've only just found this!
The Six Million Dollar Man: Operation Firefly (1974)
Simply awfully hilarious
Everyone else's description here of pure and utter EMBARRASSMENT is precisely correct. That alligator was so awful I was actually wiping the tears of hysterics off my cheeks. It then got even worse as the silly bint just throws herself in the water then along comes Steve, who simply MUST have felt he'd hit an all time low in his career performing this scene that's more befitting of something off CBEEBIES.
I'm going thru every ep having been born in '77 yet strangely barely recall a single episode. Was pleasantly surprised when seeing some random episode from series 3 for the first time but having then gone straight back to the start, already every episode seems samey af. Definitely advise watching drunk with mates.
The Gallows Pole (2023)
LMAO
Bringing modern day slang to period guff really erm...doesn't work. But on the other hand I'm also the type to watch 3 minutes or more of popular period guff and cringe at the pretentious way they all talk poetically like ye olde englysh style- so maybe I'm just a huge hypocrite. Obviously there's a middle ground but that certainly isn't achieved here. Meadows is clearly very Tarantinoesque in trying to bring almost tedious reality to stuff and while I do really like that type of thing, they just keep repeating it from one film to the next and it does get samey.
Oh and the fact he still had to bring a female side shaved head into the 18th century was hilarious!
Mostly disappointed I couldn't find any nude pics of Sophie McShera online tbh.
Maladolescenza (1977)
Cried with laughter throughout
Jesus I think I've done myself a hernia 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭 This is one of the weirdest and most terribly translated to English films I've ever seen - and lemme tell ya I've seen some twisted sheit in my time!! Honestly I was almost hyperventilating you've got to watch this but make sure you've had a drink or 9 to get the maximum effect 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭😭🤣🤣😭
The dubbing randomly switches back and forth between German and Italian (at least in the version I watched). As for the serious part, I'm not sure how old these brats are meant to be but as usual in real life the actors are about 36 🤣😭🤣🤣 dear dear I've gotta catch my breath back. Enjoy. Post it!!
