Jumanji Ripoff
3 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously... I love this show but sometimes you can tell when they just blatantly stole from somewhere else. They did it with Sleepy Hollow in one. This one is Jumanji. Seriously... that's it. There's nothing else to say. Guy gets stuck in a tree and they play jumanji to get out.

The worst TV show ever made
4 March 2020
Do I even need to explain what's wrong with this show? Pointing out identity politics points isn't a joke and it's not funny even if it were a joke. She was terrible on YouTube and always very racist and sexist against white men. It's disgusting that this horribly unfunny woman got on TV at all. It's really a testament to how woke culture can't put anything good out.

I Love It, but I don't know why...
9 February 2020
This movie is inferior to the original for sure. It takes the original concept and turns into a sci-fi oddity... the original was the groundwork for movies like SAW and other trapped in a room movies. This one is just really surreal and wierd. The cubes all looking the same gives this very dreamy, uneasy, strange quality that the other two Cube movies lack. It's hard to explain if it's a good movie or a bad movie. I'd say Cube 1 was like a blockbuster level, this is and the sequel/prequel Cube Zero are more like Direct to DVD or really good SciFy channel movies.

I know a lot of people don't like this movie and it's mainly because gore just isn't here and the concept is mind boggling insane and really hard to understand but if you shut your brain off for a cheesy sci fi escape room movie you'll like it.

A MASTERPIECE!
9 February 2020
This right here. This movie. Is not a 10/10. It's a 20/10. This is the original trapped in a place with booby traps movie before SAW came out. I can't even begin to explain how much I love this movie and while the sequels were not as great as this one they still hold up very well too with their own faults. If you haven't seen Cube don't even wait. Go right now and watch it. It is the GODFATHER of all trapped in a place, solving a deadly puzzle movies.

The Anti-Saw of Trapped in a Room movies
9 February 2020
Some people may draw parallels to SAW or Cube here. Not true at all. Beyond the movie taking place in 1 room for the majority where they have to solve a puzzle it's completely opposite of SAW and Cube. No gore, no booby traps, none of that stuff. It's literally people sitting in a room trying to figure out a puzzle and things go off the rails from there to get a job. It has a lot of twists and turns, it's very smart and fun to watch. I honestly can't even remember the answer and that's a great thing about this movie. The answer really doesn't matter it's about the ride of trying to figure it out with them. Think about why people watch game shows... it's to play along with the person on the show! You do that with this movie and it's a ton of fun!

Interesting Concept, Bad Execution
9 February 2020
So... if you've seen movies like Truth Or Die which i'd say is WORSE than this and I live for the trapped in a room "game" movies like SAW and Cube. This one... it just is OK. It's not a movie I'd reach for. It's not one I'd think "oh I remember this part coming up" or "That twist" it is just kind of a blur to me between this and Truth or Die. This one is gory but not in a SAW way. I don't want to spoil it, but it just is OK. It's average at best for this kind of movie.

My main problem is the execution where it's just a guy walking around a table saying the same thing to everyone. The "Would you Rather" question is used over and over for different people. I won't give away what happens but let's say if we were at a table with person A B C and D. I say Person A would you rather slap person B or slam your head on the table. You slap person A then I moved to person C. I ask person C. "Would you rather slap person A or slam your head against the table" it's really repetitive... not much variety.

Circle (II) (2015)

I wish I could give this a 10...
9 February 2020
I really like the concept and I review movies in this "Trapped in 1 place" genre hoping maybe it would pick up the popularity and people would make more low budget ones like this. This one... is great but it's just something wrong about it.

My biggest problem with this movie isn't the acting... it's the number of people in "the game" it's too damn many. In SAW, Cube, House of 9, Breathing Room and other movies like this there are maybe 10 people in a trap total. This movie has like 50 in a circle. The problem is in the other movies there is a lot more mystery, suspense, and each character is unique with a personality and a story that slowly unravels over the movie. This one is just like "here's 2 lines" bang you're dead until the end.

It's good, but it could have been much better if they body count was lower.

Nine Dead (2009)

It could be a 10 but one let down ruins it.
9 February 2020
I love the trapped in a room genre and wish it was done more. The budget is low, and this is one of the few "SAW Ripoffs" I can honestly say yeah... it took alot from the first SAW movie. Does that make it bad? No. It's a good mystery/thriller that leaves you guessing the entire movie and the actors are good. The only reason I gave it a 1 star is Melissa Joan Hart... wow.

I get it. They needed a Star for the movie. It's not that she's a bad actress in her own sort of teenage shows like Clarissa or Sabrina. She just doesn't work for horror. She tried so hard but it just always felt like it was MJH in this... so 1 star off for that. Definitely watch it though if you like SAW or Circle.

House of 9 (2005)

I love this movie, but it could be a little better.
9 February 2020
I gave it 10/10 not saying it's the godfather or a perfect movie but for what it is... it's great. It's another one of those "Trapped in place X" play a game and find out how to get out movies. It kind of blends a lot of the other movies you've seen where the typical formula is like battle royale or the belko experiment where you got 10 people in a house and only 1 can leave. I know other movies have done this and I don't care. I never see movies as "ripoffs" i see them as more of another take on a kind of story I enjoy. If we all complained about everything ripping everything off then Star Wars ripped off Star Trek and Star Trek ripped off Flash Gordon. It's called a GENRE.

Anyway. Acting is good, story is okay, a bit slower than most of the other movies but I would have loved to see a sequel just to see how it played out a second time.

I love this movie...
9 February 2020
I know people claim this is just another saw rip off. It's really not. It reminds me more of the movie "The Unknown" or Reservoir Dogs. People get so upset when they see something and thing "this is a rip off of xyz." If that was the case then Saw is a ripoff of Seven, Cube, and Cape Fear. People need to chill.

This is another one of those trapped in a room puzzle movies with a twist at the end. If you like those movies you'll like this. I wish they made more of these low budget ones. IF you want a real saw ripoff go watch "Are You Scared" which even as blatant of an ACTUAL RIPOFF that is... it was still fun.

Meh

Warning: Spoilers
I love the trapped in place X movies where you get to see whats causing all the stuff like cube, exam, saw, nine dead, would you rather, hostel, and all the other crazy whodunit/escape movies. This one.... is bland as the room it's filmed in. The premise is just stretched to thin, it boils down to "Government is EVIL GUYS!" and that's about it. Really not much killing... like at all. No creativity just a random guy comes in and offs em with a pistol... that's it. No real commentary on anything or mystery they make it evident from the start CIA is evil. That's all this is "Gov't Bad, we shoot ppl for answering stupid questions wrong with no mystery or suspense" It's boring, and nick canon is in it which just screws it up even more.
