Shaq (2022)
Top documentary covering an underrated sports story
Shaq's story represents a lot about what is right in the American dream. The documentary depicts what happens when you're raised in a solid household with adult figures. Shaw teaches us to listen, be humble, try your best and the. Achieve. A lot of young athletes should watch this! It's well made.
Additionally it's just a cool story, his younger years aren't as covered in mass media as they should be. I also think people forget how good he was before the championships and how much he impacted pop culture.
There will never be another athlete and entertainer line Shaq! Take an afternoon and watch.
The Terminal List (2022)
Over the top version of the book
**Spoilers
The show did not live up to the book.
Between changing the plot/timeline, the completely unnecessary flashbacks from the tumor (too often), and a weak screenplay with far too much music, the show just does not capture the book well enough.
It's watchable but I am disappointed. Messing this up was silly.
Sala samobójców. Hejter (2020)
Outstanding
Modern, relevant, dark, brilliant. This is a must see.
La grande bellezza (2013)
One of the best films of the last 4 decades.
This film is a masterpiece. It is a combination of art, beauty, history and personal struggle. This should have been nominated for best picture as well.
Toni Servillo gives a performance for the ages but the real star here is Paolo Sorrentino. The screenplay, soundtrack and overall direction capture Rome like no movie since the golden era of cinema in Italy.
There are many lessons that can be learned from this film that can change your outlook on life. Highly recommended.
