Could be better
17 May 2024
It's the same thing every week. They take two people that want to be artists and help them. The only problem for me is that that you don't actually learn anything about the making of art and it's very much a lot of hugging and crying.

I would like them to spend a little time on the process so that you can feel like you know more about what's involved and then maybe you will spend that much for the whatever that they're selling.

But I think it's getting to be like Britain's got talent where everyone is crying about their anxiety issues and how they got through whatever because of art and I don't really care about that.

Just needs more information and I'd like to see someone that didn't make any money once they tried it lol.

Why does everyone love Jean Smart
6 May 2024
I mean let's face it. She's not that great. I remember in, was it designing women or whatever? My mom used to watch it and she was always the worst one. She just seems like somehow she got lucky enough to play the ditch or the sassy one and everyone says she's great like Meryl Streep. To this day, I'm not sure why she is so much better than all the other actresses because she isn't and she's usually the same character, but for some reason we have to say that we love her. Every time she makes a dumb joke with a Southern accent. We have to say that she is a credit to women everywhere. It also reminds me of how everyone has to say that they love the Beatles whether they even know anything about the Beatles or not. You just have to say Jean smart is an amazing actress and then you have to watch her. It's really not funny and it's actually pretty sad.

Road House (2024)

I'll never know
24 March 2024
I'll never know if this movie is horrible but the trailer was painful. The point is, Road House is a classic hangover movie. It's not great but Swayze was great so it worked. Same with dirty dancing: it worked because Patrick Swayze was a way better actor than we ever realized.

Jake is a recognized "great actor"and so for that reason alone he isn't right for the role. It's as hard to imagine Jake in this movie as it is to imagine Jake actually being a bouncer. All you can think is, "what is he doing here?". And that's before you watch it.

Point Break is another movie that really only works because of the casting of the actors. That shouldn't have been remade either. I don't think Gen X is watching these remakes and why would kids today care? Who is this for?

Why not make a similar movie to Roadhouse about an aging bouncer? That would be an interesting movie. That could win awards.

How many more times do we have to watch Hollywood ruin anything that made a dollar before 1995?

If only
19 March 2024
If only Olivia Coleman weren't in this. Basically, this should be the story of an inner city vicar who is not really sure if he's making a difference. So if Olivia Coleman's character didn't exist, everything would be fine.

He could lust after the beautiful principal of the school, he could question his vocation and he could get a chance to openly discuss religion in a modern sitcom and that might be really helpful.

But it's hard to understand how these two people would even meet, let alone have sex or get married. They don't seem to know each other and they don't seem to have anything in common. It's like they just added her in as an afterthought.

So she is dressing up like a prostitute in the local convenience store to enhance their sex life and he's questioning the nature of existence. Just doesn't make any sense.

You would think that someone in his situation who decided to marry would be really in love and pretty certain about what they want to do with their life. I almost think she forgets what his job is.

Anyway, they have wonderful actors and they are all wasted with an absurd plot line.

Too staged
10 February 2024
I think it used to be more honest and fun but now it's just a commercial for whatever they are selling. I stopped watching after Margot. Robbie was interviewed for her movie where she was Harley Quinn. They didn't really seem to care anything about her and just asked her things like, "would your character eat this?" Whereas the men seem to get a better deal and get to talk more and make themselves seem interesting. It's definitely a staged and I hate that you have to say so many words to post a review. Here I go. Let me just say it again. I think it's fake like between two ferns only it's not supposed to be.

Nope
8 February 2024
There are so many things wrong with this. I don't know where to begin. Mostly it's just not believable even though it's basically true. That's a problem. You find yourself checking your phone. I know imdb wants me to say more words and all that, but really it's pretty simple: this isn't fun to watch, and it should be. I saw season one and have a great memory but I can't remember two things about season one. I have no idea and I don't really care. All I know is that they were the first to do something blah blah blah and they became their own mafia. I don't know how that's boring, but somehow it is.

Terrible
26 October 2023
I don't get the good reviews. Everyone is annoying and the Chinese character seems racist to me. I'm not sure exactly what they're trying to accomplish but I didn't crack a smile once.

I know we're all supposed to love Olivia Coleman but I feel like she's distracting a lot of the time and in this she just seemed insane. I think it's trying to be extra British by being dark but none of the characters seem to deserve any particular attention.

I really hate having to write a lot of words just a post a review to say that I didn't think it was funny at all. It was like the Jeeves books if everyone was poor and irritating.

I love them but...
22 September 2023
I'm in Philly. I'm from here. Go birds. I have 3 underdog t shirts and I like the podcast with the brothers. But following the eagles, underdog and New Heights podcast on Instagram plus the advertising on Prime for the documentary plus watching the eagles and going to the home opener, I feel all Kelced out, if you know what I mean.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I had to turn it off after 20 minutes because it's really hard to watch someone talk about how great they are and then other people say yeah he's really great and then they tell you he's a really great dad and a really great guy and a really great business man and you're like enough already.

Plus, we already know that he came back because the season started two weeks ago. So there's really no drama and Kelse every year acts like he might not come back and then he does.

Now I'm starting to worry that he's just an incredible ego maniac because why would you need a documentary about yourself before you even retire? And furthermore, I am not sad at all for Jason Kelse or his brother because they have both lived the lives you can only dream of and that they've always wanted.

Eventually you have to stop playing sports professionally. Now Travis and Jason are putting it out there that Travis might be dating Taylor Swift and I'm like what do two guys that have $40 million each really need to do all this for?

I can't believe I feel this way but I do.

Go birds.

No!
10 July 2023
This is not only gross and I don't really care about stuff like that but we don't need to see over long shots of a woman who's been dead for 6 months underwater; it's really bad. Do they call it death porn? If not they should. But really it's just a really dumb show.

There's nothing that I can say except we already as viewers have to accept that four people work in the entire police office no matter what show it is. We we also have to accept that all these people are full on geniuses and they never go home and all that and they know stuff and blah blah blah and whatever. As a fan of the police procedural, especially the British police procedurals, I don't understand how this made the cut.

Someday there's going to be a police procedural that uses what we as viewers already know. Things like if the person doesn't answer the door the second you knock then they did something wrong. Lol

But these people have cell phones and they know someone is in danger and instead of calling other police they call the person in danger. Then the person endangered doesn't answer the phone. Oh come on. This was never good enough. You'd have to be pretty brain dead to think the show should have ever been green lighted.

I know it's groundbreaking but...
23 May 2023
I was in high school when it came out, a long with NYPD blue. HSB is the better if the two by far, but I can see why I didn't watch it then. It's a lot of talking. A LOT of talking. It's more about dating than it is about police work.

It doesn't solve crimes and that's fine. The characters are all terrible, selfish people and that's fine. They problem is that it's the same thing every week.

It doesn't really matter what's going on bc it's watching day in the life kinda thing so they don't have to explain it, go back to plot points and that's ok too.

The problem is that you can never really care bc it's always the same. Who cares if they get together, break up, catch the guy, get sober, get drunk,bc it's just all going on and on and on.

It's also disturbing that a guy in his fifties was engaged to a high school girl. It was wrong then too. Why does the ex wife come running into the precinct every day? Not from a logic perspective but what about plot development?

Why does the smallest police officer of all time growl? Every episode? It was lazy then and it's lazy now.

It's weird how it's both great and terrible. Good for falling asleep because it doesn't matter.

Not Morse
15 April 2023
Watch one episode of endeavor and then watch one episode of Morse and you'll understand why endeavor never should have been made. At first I thought it was cool to find out how he got his limp. That sort of thing almost like how columbo got his trench coat, but you don't really need to know those things to love it.

Mostly Morse was a way of making fun of higher education and British upper classes in general, and it was always an excuse to watch the great John Thaw.

But what you notice when you watch Morse is that it's fun! I know nothing can be fun today with all its political correctness but Morse wasn't a complete jerk. He could be funny. He was interested in helping people. He was difficult and he drank too much but he was a good guy and that's how he lasted.

Endeavor wouldn't have lasted 5 seconds because he's too busy being a jerk to every single person around him, never cracking a smile and they really avoid the alcoholism almost completely. Endeavor thinks the entire police force is lucky that he's there because they are incompetent.

Not to mention, of course that this level of ethnic diversity was quite frankly impossible and probably still is. And not everyone was in love with Morse the way Shawn Evans needs them to be in endeavor. You don't even have to read the credits to know that Sean Evans is directing because every other shot is him perfectly dressed, standing in the perfect lighting and looking at everyone else like they are completely insane.

There's no reason why we should like endeavor, but it's a shame because Shawn Evans and Roger Allen were so good in ashes to ashes and they're such good actors.

This is a piece of garbage that never should have been made. It's for stupid people that think this is how smart people talk.

Season 5 is horrible
14 April 2023
I agree with a lot of people that said the show really went downhill. I don't think you can really use the speed of the dialogue as a way to measure how intelligent it is. They talk fast but anyone can do that. The point is they have to have something to say. His Girl Friday this is not.

I thought that this was quite obviously the story of Joan Rivers told from two different angles, one being the young John Rivers and then her archrival being the older very wealthy Joan Rivers that lived in a gold mansion.

I thought that was pretty clever, but I recently tried to rewatch this show to be ready for season 5 and I realized I could barely get through season 1. Joel doesn't belong in this show at all. It's extremely annoying.

Something changed and now we have just a lot of words in a short time frame and that's not interesting. And I really really don't care about the happiness of the children.

It's like this is going to be a greatest hits where every character says their catchphrases and moves along. I only made it 5 minutes into season 5.

I thought it was good but...
29 October 2022
I really loved the first episode. But after episode 3, I feel like it's not as complicated as they're making it out to be. The telling is complex but it's like a good enough idea that they could be more straightforward with it.

I was looking forward to the next episode but I feel like nothing really happened. And I'm starting to not really care.

The girl always figures everything out and so that's not interesting. Also I guess they're going for a Mamet type cadence but I'm not sure it works.

I would also like to say that I don't think I should have to write 600 words to critique at sure that's average at best.

Change the word limit to 200 max, IMDB!

Zzzzzzzzzzz
5 September 2022
It's hard to understand why they had a whole episode about will they or won't they buy the team but we know they do so why not get not into the history of the team and why they were wronged in the past. Too much of rob and Ryan. I wish they would just kiss and get it over with.

I almost didn't watch this because it's about two rich guys buying a sports team. They thought we would be interested in watching them own something. You can imagine what's in this if you just think about what the documentary would be about. And then, they'll say it.

Zzzzzzzzz.

How many more words do I have to say to publish this stupid review??

They're upset about the wrong thing
2 September 2022
If this were set in the time when Barnes and Noble was killing independent bookstores, it would have made me cry. That was truly sad. But at this point in time, the remaining sellers seem upset that technology means no longer cutting down trees to make books they can sell for thousands of dollars. I don't care about that. Technology changes things and that's life. I have asthma and couldn't read many books over the years bc they mold etc and so ebooks are a godsend. Plus, you can't print millions of copies of books without damaging the ecosystem so it's like being sad there aren't 8 track tapes anymore.

I have no idea if this is good...
31 August 2022
Because all I could think of was "hey that's Mrs Maisel" and "why are all theses people talking so much.". I have a theory that any movie or TV show that starts with a whole lot of exposition either written like Star wars or these long setups are the indicator that you don't need to bother. They're not supposed to explain it. They're supposed to show it to you. I was wondering I don't care if this guy gets hired to this project or not. Why should I? I don't even really know what's going on except what I read before I started watching it. Apparently it's full of anachronisms but I'll never know.

I love it but
22 August 2022
It's the same thing over and over. That isn't bad but I know what they do, what they are going to say and then, really, it either is or it isn't. Basically it's the same methodology over and over again and I wish they varied it a little bit so that you can't kind of read the newspaper and follow along and then pay attention for the last 5 minutes. I feel like there's a lot more they could talk about and I love Fiona.

No idea what's going on
7 August 2022
At the beginning I loved it but by episode 5 it was a completely different show with way too many needless scenes and plots. It's a shame bc I like the actors and they could have had a great show if they kept it simple.

When they hit obvious plot points, we get it and yet they keep explaining it to you. I love the main plot of farmers trying to sue pesticide companies but I don't care about the love story. It's just not needed. Could be great if they cut all but the political thriller aspect.

Don't watch season 1
29 July 2022
This show gets better as it goes along, which is unusual. Of course the main character knows everything and we're all in awe of her. Yawn.

This isn't the best show but I love all the actors. I wish it was less about the cases, which they always win so who cares, but more with each actor. They have great actors coming through and they don't get used enough.

19 July 2022
Usually, I love it hate something. It's watchable and I love Nicola Walker. I really only turned it on bc of Anthony Head. Sadly, he's only in it for 5 minutes. But I think Walker is miscast. It's hard to imagine men fighting over her when she doesn't seem to care about anything. She's too bland. And she's too good for that as an actor.

You'd have to be from another planet to find new information in this. I gave up after half an hour of the Trump kids talking about their awesome dad. That's no way to start a documentary about anyone.
