CrimeTime: Freefall (2024)
Too bad Luke MacFarlane Wasted His Talent
I tried, I really did. I really tried to watch the whole movie. I wanted to like it because I like the movies Luke MacFarlane is in, but everyone else in this movie were exaggerations of anything believable. I know Hallmark movies are predictable and usually sappy, but I don't care. They are a great escape. And after some of the really good Christmas movies this past year, I was really looking forward to this movie, because, like I said, I like the movies starring MacFarlane. I usually watch an entire movie once I start. I just couldn't watch this one. I don't think I got halfway through it. Terrible, terrible movie.
A Biltmore Christmas (2023)
Magical
While not much about Christmas, other than filming a Christmas movie, I really enjoyed the premise and the well-thought-out script. It is a good romantic story.
Kristopher Polaha and Bethany Joy Lenz are perfect. They are among my favorite actors on Hallmark.
Time-travel stories don't always succeed because there is something that doesn't fit; some stupid detail that gets overlooked. But this one hits all the marks.
Hallmark has really outdone themselves this year. Their scripts are mostly very predictable, and I'm not saying that still isn't the case, but the stories are a lot more creative.
Watching it again. Favorite number: 17 1/2. I love it.
Under the Christmas Sky (2023)
Underwhelmed under the Christmas Sky
Every time the actors sat on the couch they had their feet on it with their shoes on. I wanted the mother to yell, "Get your damn feet off my couch!"
I appreciate trying to include a biracial family, but the casting was terrible. They didn't look like a family, they looked like someone said just grab random people off the street.
Kat should have gotten her eyesight corrected and gone to the space station.
The minor characters-Kat's brother and his love interest had more of a romance going than the main characters.
All-in-all, this one was really a waste of time, especially since there have been some really good movies this year.
