Football Focus (2001)
What has happened to this once great programme?
Well due to recently now having Saturdays free from working I chose to tune in to Football Focus earlier today as I always used to in the past. In the name of sweet Jesus what on earth has happened? Please tell me that todays attempt was either some sort of an experiment or a joke. Do you HONESTLY expect a Football Fan to tune into that ill-informed nonsense. How are the mighty fallen.
I genuinely despair for the BBC, I honestly do. We had "Top Gear" replaced with cringe-inducing drivel and "A Question Of Sport" has now scraped it's way through the bottom of the barrel and is currently burrowing its way down towards the earths core closely followed by Countryfile. Why can't you just LEAVE THINGS ALONE when you have a hit show on your hands. I am beginning to wonder if it's worth paying the licence fee just to watch "Match of the Day" which has managed to retain most of it's previous entertainment value.
Hope Gap (2019)
Seriously Impressive acting.
Annette Bening is just awesome in this beautifully made and presented film. A wonderful script and some incredible acting by all main characters gives this heart-wrenching tale an alarming plausibility. This effortless credibility and the situations encountered will strike a chord of personal experience with many viewers I'm sure. If this is the case then the film will draw in the viewer and play ping-pong with their emotions. As a viewer it is actually possible to understand two extremely opposing views and yet remain uncannily neutral, not an easy thing to do, much easier for all concerned if you are just dealing with heroes and villains. Overall, an excellent film.
Bridgerton (2020)
Implausible in the extreme
Seriously? Poor script, poor acting, implausible characters, clumsy plots. This shambles could be used as an example of "What not to do" for aspiring screen writers, actors and casting directors. This is "dumbing down" in the extreme. Avoid.
