Awesome

Another Ciro Guerra's masterpiece. Fascinating movie. After "The wind Journeys" Guerra shows again his talent with an incredible history about the Amazonas jungle back in the early 1900s. The beauty and uniqueness of the scenes is mind blowing. The sound takes you deep inside the jungle. The story is a thriller that makes you live the most strange adventures that you could ever imagine in the jungle. It is based on two diaries written by a German and American travelers. All actors have an incredible command of the indigenous dialect. Additionally, the native indigenous actors seem to be truly professionals. Enjoyed every single minute. A must see.

It's not the same drug dealing story
8 October 2005
Some times I heard negative comments about this movie. People who dislike it, argue that we have already seen lots of histories like this one before. And it might be true, but it is exactly what gives me a point of reference to judge this production objectively.

Many things have been said about drug trafficking, but I have never seen a closest approach to the essence and the beginning of the problem. An extraordinary representation of Medellín in the 80's, whit every little detail. Once more, Gaviria leads whit natural actors, obtaining great results on the interpretation of this complicated roles that in my opinion can not really be played by professional or foreign actors, as we could see what recently happened whit Unax Ugalde in Rosario Tijeras.

If you think you know every thing about drug dealing, or if you are Colombian and think that it is a distant problem, or you think it is not your problem, why don't you take a look at this really interesting movie, and by the way give a little support to Víctor Gaviria, that after almost three years whit many budget problems, could finish in great way whit this film.

My favorite Colombian movie!
4 October 2005
Despite the recent great productions made by or whit Colombians, I just want to let the readers know, that it might not became your favorite Colombian movie, but you will undoubtedly like it!!

As all the other films from Sergio Cabrera, its a mixture of drama, suspense and action.

It is also an extraordinary post of the unbelievable secret tales that Bogotá can hide. You will love Martina García's character, and you will never lose the interest of resolving the knot by yourself.

Remember always to support Colombian productions! (Not too much budget, but lot of talent and amazing stories).
