Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
It.... Exists.
Out of all the movies i've ever watched, this was certainly one of them. To start off, I never watched the original series. I probably caught an episode or two when it was on, but was never really a fan. However, i was a huge fan of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I used to own it on VHS, and watched it quite often. I don't want to constantly compare the two, but for two movies about a real human and a formerly famous cartoon character solving a mystery, one certainly does it a whole lot better. The jokes are stale, constantly poking fun at how lazy and repetitive Hollywood has become, only to use those same exact lazy and repetitive ideas themselves. Much like other films in the recent string of reboots and sequels (Ghostbusters 3, Space Jam 2, etc.) the movie is far more concerned with showing off popular and nostalgic properties than telling a decent story. In short, not terrible, but i would definitely recommend skipping out on this dull adventure.
The Quest (2022)
Bland reality game show stuffed in bland fantasy story
This show, while not terrible, suffers from a far worse fate: it's boring. The actors are decent, if not in cliched predictable roles, while the contestants all have the combined charisma and personality of a damp dish rag. The challenges are super dull, as there are no eliminations or prizes, the outcomes clearly dictated by the plot, thus robbing them of any interest. The storyline itself is just a standard fantasy story that raises no interest. Everything is rushed and its just actors spouting exposition and herding the contestants to their next challenge. I will say there was one joke i found very funny though: the cliffhanger at the end that means they think they're getting a second season. Would recommend staying far away from this bland mush.
Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors (2018)
Okay for young kids
This movie may be good for keeping a little kid quiet for an hour and a half, but that's it. The animation is awkward, the characters are underdeveloped, bland, and in the case of Squirrel Girl, extremely annoying. The villain is nothing that you haven't seen a million times before, and the films moral of "being true to/ trusting yourself" is just hammered in with no subtlety whatsoever, especially in the last ten minutes. It teases a possible sequel at the end, but I hope that never happens. It's not the worst, and I think if you have young kids they'll enjoy it, but for older Marvel fans, this is one to stay far away from.
