Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
Average
Here is the end of vol2 and it's average to me. It's like some kind of those action movies where you have a linear plot and there is a peak where all the characters find themselves in a difficult situation and then something flashes and everything turns in their favor (here, specifically, not everything that makes this somewhat better content than such movies) . Unlike the first vol that forced me to binge, now I could hardly force myself to watch the second episode because the first one did not hype me up for the second one, and again the duration of the episode was repulsive to me. If I split the last episode into three episodes of 50 minutes each, the first part would be as boring as the second until near the end when something starts to happen outside of the expected course of events. That pleasure lasts about 25 minutes with slow mo scenes that should seem epic and sneaking in the corridors that should probably add chills to the atmosphere. About 30 minutes before the end, that part passes and you wonder what the hell they are going to do for the next 30 minutes. In the 4 hours of content, the only thing that was unexpected for me was that Max died and it was a little juice for me until El put her hand on her, from which I immediately knew that she would survive (I don't believe that they left her alive to kill her in the next season) . I'm hoping for some the evil within vibe in the next season, even if it eats up a huge budget. I think the whole thing could have been cut down to 2 or 2.5 hours and split into normal length episodes but that's the least of the issues. Maybe the duration of the episodes was their way to hide the parts where nothing happened, so that instead of having 2 bad episodes and one good one, they made one average episode of 2 and a half hours. All in all, the second part is somewhere around 6.5 for me, while the first part is around 9.5, so the average for this season is around 8.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: Papa (2022)
Not great not terrible
Vol 1 was more dynamic. This one is just average. I hated the cut between vols, i forgot some stuff that happened in a first one and was not hyoed when i started the episode the way i would be if it was released at may. Its just like some average action movie, should have been shorter too.
La casa de papel (2017)
Season 2 is where rating fell from 10 to 4...
First season was great. It was a perfect mix of action and a little spanish drama. It was realistic. Police forces having their tactics that cought robbers of guard and they suffered loss and consequences. Unexpected releationships, hostages escape plans. It was lalal very New and unique to me and i watched it in 2 days. Then season 2 started which was slightly weaker then the first one. I Just started loosing interest more and more. Until the part where they finally escape, Season 2 episodes 6.it was a different show. Raquel turning sides and helping robbers gets out without consequences to finally meet her love again in a most cliche moment in a "phone charger" scene. Trained professionals feeling like a little kids with water Guns Just hiding behind shields, Without any tactic. Same cops not shooting robbers while lasers are clearly on them. Them shooting wall in a 1.5m height while robbers are crawling. Whole Scene with Tokio's and Rio's shootout with a cops is disaster. Like cops were told to not kill anyone at all cost. Tokio sliding and shooting better then 3 cops standing still behind covers made me sick. Even secretary uses a gun like she was borned with it in hands.
I like seeing characters progression in tv shows but here they dont progress, they flip personalities
The more i watched the more i was against main characters. It became spanish soap show like every other. Sci-fi spanish fast and furious spin-off.
Pointless.
Knives Out (2019)
Atmospheric family murder mystery turns to Mind blowing roller-coaster
Has a great pace. It has everything classic detective movie has. The unique atmosphere, characters and story are the things keeping you engaged. Really interesting stuff to watch. Not a moment feels empty. It just feels nice to eyes.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
🤔
It's like a puzzle. U get random pieces all the time. Buy the end of the movie you think you solved it. You see the whole picture and think everything fits perfectly. Then they show you the real picture which was on the other side all the time. You were busy solving one side and never checked the other. Masterpiece!
Its entertaining and nice to keep you watching until the end. In the end you get a feeling you watched a good movie, then they show you it's better than that.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Colorful and relaxing
It's fun, colourful, little less gore full then expected, but there is plenty of that. Story is there (u dont watch it for story , nothing too good) , but its entertaining and relaxing. Visual effects are so smooth and very well done .
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Its like watching a documentary without a narration half of time and the other half you are on a edge of a sit.
Its like watching a documentary without a narration half of time and the other half you are on a edge of a sit. Begging felt like thy wanted to show as a begging of the attack and it became interesting... Then they cut it and the second part was like watching documentary without narration or music or anything to keep you entertained. Just people walking around post apocalyptic world. First half stretched and empty, second overflowed with predictable yet somewhat fun action. It gives Stranger things vibe with kids being heroes. Ending was somehow cut too.
Mystic River (2003)
The ending
The think about ending is that they "were" friends. That makes you think they will have empathy for one another. And the cop will seek justice for fallen friend. Then the ending will be a "good cop" solves the case and put his other old friend in jail. What cought me off guard is that he never arrested him for what he did, but then it will be more ordinary ending then this one. Maybe he was to afraid that his family would be the next to get "500$ a month". Things were good for him and his family was reunited. Buy the scene in the car when he was talking to his wife he already forgot about his innocent friend who was murdered the night before. Dave is a good guy who suffered a lot when he was younger and he never let go on that, unlike his friends. The first scene is same as the rest of the movie. The worst one get away with a murder, the second one following let a murder go and the third one ( the one that was afraid of his father, afraid to write his name on a street and to get in the car is the one dying). The other two adapted to live in the cruel world and the third one wanted to make things right, and died becouse of this. The thing is that you are not expected to find yourself in all those characters becouse they are all different. The main character is a "king". He is executing justice his way and is getting what he wants the way he wants. The cop is survivor. He do what he must to survive ( he followed his friend in what he was doing so he is not much different from him, he just choose the other side of a law but he is not the good character here.
Murderer getting away with a murder, good guy getting killed first and a cop turning head of crime is actually more expected and true to life ending then the other one. This could not end well it ends bad or worse.
Katla: From Under the Glacier (2021)
Some good moments
There are couple of moments that are good and it is mysterious. But its empty in between.
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Puts in 7 episodes more then some shows in years
Great cast. Everything seems in place with this one. Story is interesting and engaging yet phase its slow enough to let you think about it and enjoy the atmosphere and great acting. It's not predictable. It will surprise you over and over again. It's a drama with believable characters and plot. It focuses on that and it's not trying to be nothing else.
Edit: First part i wrote after watching first maybe second episode. Now i watched the whole thing. The truth is this show delivered in 7 episodes what some of the greatest shows took a few seasons. Its full of content. Every scene is a pure gold and has a reason to exist. You will have love-hate relationships with all the characters showing you the true nature of humans. This show is not scared to put in front a life as it really is. Its talking about the things that are being thrown under the carpet all the time. It teaches you to appreciate people. To take it easy on them because you don't know what they are going through. It is scary sad at some moments and got me to tears many times. You spend 7 hours watching the show and it feels like you spent a year with characters in the Easttown. It keeps throwing cliffhangers at the end of the episodes to keep you coming back to it and gives you a reward at the end. Must watch for triler and crime fans. Cast is so well chosen. Everyone did a great job on a show. Every character looks different and is a different person. They are like parts of a puzzle and are part of a bigger picture. You won't forget about it in a long time.
The Boys (2019)
Unrealistically realistic!
If you ever wondered what it would be like to have a real superheroes like the ones we see in the movie. This show is an answer. Only unrealistic thing in this tv show is superhero powers. Those heroes you see here are not fighting for justice but for personal reasons. It is a sci-fi show that represents a REALITY as it really is.
It's like super hero tv show for adults.
Shadow and Bone: A Searing Burst of Light (2021)
Sped up a little
It has some cliché moments and weird lines. I think they sped up this episode to get you as much into story as possible and missed some opportunities to give us more back stories of a characters. I just think its too much content for one episode.
It didnt make me watch second episode immediately but i will surely give it a go. It's entertaining and good chill tv show. Also there are no many fantasy shows like this so if you are a fan check it out.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Added a missing peace
Better then original. I somehow remembered that i watched original in the middle of this one. Great way of storytelling and back story of characters. It's entertaining from begging to the end. You will not notice that its 4 hours long. Hreat one for someone that didn't watch much of the dc movies.
The Thing (1982)
One of those you wish lasts forever
It went under the radar and was hated when it got out, but thankfully is very accessible now for viewers to enjoy. It is visible that its 40 years old now but special effects are impressive to this day. Its realistic not like today's horrors where characters do thinks they would never do in such situations. It have a plot. Its opening slowly as it should and its entertaining and unpredictable till the end.
The Game (1997)
It became better and better as it progress
For you thinking should you watch it: Definitely. It starts up a little slow and predictable but as it progress it became better and better. Great thriller! You will wonder whats going on to the very end. Its a game of doubt.
I recommend watching "Open your eyes" before this(because i saw a review there saying go watch "The game" for a whole experience) 😊. And if you like this type of movies "Gone girl" is a blast.
Life Itself (2018)
And once again critics are wrong!!!
Interesting story, unique way of storytelling, memorable characters.
Durante la tormenta (2018)
Masterpiece!
Mindblowing from the beggining to the end. One of the best i have seen in the while. Its a shame it did not get more attention.
