Mistresses (I) (2013–2016)

Love this series never a dull moment!

I watched the entire series (4 seasons) in just a week. Initially I started because I am a huge Lost fan and love Sun! (Yunyin Kim) Mistresses really surprised me, not my usual taste but very entertaining.

I can really only fault the ending, it felt like the show just ended mid episode with very little resolve and a million unanswered questions! Very unsatisfying! I did thoroughly enjoy it from start to finish so I won't take any points off for ending suddenly, however, they should definitely make another season. Most drama series I find pretty boring and predictable but Mistresses is far from predictable and never gets boring! A worthwhile watch. Highly recommend!

Heartbreak High (2022–2025)

Trash with zero substance

This is so embarrassing, I was a big fan of the original Heartbreak High but is just utter trash. If it genuinely does reflect how teenagers are today, I feel deeply saddened, but does the plot actually contain anything more than the slutty sex lives of teenagers?

Even the relationships between these teens have zero substance. After watching several episodes I still don't really know anything about most of these characters, which in my opinion is poor writing and makes it really hard to care about any of them.

Boring boring boring.. I don't feel I'm being judgemental as I actually still enjoy a lot of younger adult or teenage viewing series.

My So-Called Life (1994–1995)

Love it, cute and genuine teen drama

This is a really cute and fun television series. It feels really true to teenage life and takes me back. Refreshing to watch, engaging and genuine stories.

I'm loving 90's drama even more than ever because the story lines don't revolve around social media, mobile phones and technology and aren't trashy or too adult-like as most of the American teen shows you see nowadays are. I wish they had made more episodes.

I have given an extra and final tenth star for the amazing Claire Danes and Jared Leto being absolute babes! Great cast overall, and quality acting.

I really hope more of these old school nineteen nineties gems pop up on Disney plus, Netflix, Stan etc!

Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022)

Had Potential

As a huge Dexter fan this was just so so disappointing, I started out really enjoying this despite being a bit more low key than the original series. Overall, I think the new series had great potential but the ending just ruined it entirely with no room for a come back.

Maid (2021)

Brilliant

Not only was the subject matter important but Maid is very well written and not at all predictable. The characters are realistic and not overdramatised for entertainment which is so common in American Tv and film! Really impressed.
