Rick and Morty: Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender (2017)
Not horrible, but not as good as it could be.
Rick and Morty has yet to come out with a downright bad episode, but after watching this, I remember being a little bummed out. My first problem with the episode is the way it was written. Watching this episode felt like watching a sequel to n episode that never came out. It almost seemed to tell us that we were supposed to know who these new characters were. My second problem was the character development. Rick was out of character, and most of the drama in the episode was based around characters we didn't know, or care about.
Sausage Party (2016)
Not what it could be
After watching a movie, the first thing I think to myself us "Why was this movie made? What were the writers trying to get across to the viewer?" Honestly, the only reason for this movie to exist that I can think of is to push the boundaries of what we precise as decent. Personally, I'm not a big fan of movies that only exist to be raunchy (as you may be able to tell), but this movie is different. The way they try to sexualize food, and build sexual tension between food items hits every nerve in the human body that evokes disgust.
Now, that's one reason to dislike this movie, but that's not why I dislike it. The reason I dislike it, is because it takes itself too seriously. The minute they tried getting preachy, or incorporating social commentary, I couldn't stand it. Imagine someone walks up to you, Jacks off in your face, and makes a bunch of crappy jokes about rape, and then suddenly tries to talk politics with you, and expects to be taken seriously. That's how it felt watching this movie. As an audience member, I felt insulted that this was the mental standard I was being held to.
In conclusion, if I were to use one word to describe this movie, it would be 'pretentious'. It was clearly made by a bunch of rich people with no talent who just wanted to push boundaries, and spark controversy. All in all, I would rate 2/10.
Rick and Morty: Anatomy Park (2013)
One of their best episodes
Anatomy Park is one if my favorite episodes of Rick and Morty. This episode follows Morty as he is shrunk, and sent into the body of an old man to help Rick save him. I think the reason this episode stood out was because the plot had everything needed to make up a good story; conflict, betrayal, a funny B-plot, an interesting scenery, unique characters, and a badass climax.
In conclusion, this episode is probably one of the best episodes of Rick and Morty to date, and I would strongly recommend it.
Archer (2009)
Always fun to watch
Archer is an action l based show that follows a man by the name of Sterling Archer, his cynical mother, and his co workers, Lana, Pam, Cyril, Sheryl, Ray, and Kreiger. They work for a company called ISIS, an American spy institution where Sterling is often sent in missions around the world.
This show is great at making you laugh out loud, and keeping you entertained. The characters are funny, and likable, the scenery is exciting, and the dialog is humorous. What makes this show better than most adult cartoons is that the writers actually focus on the plotlinrs, and jokes, rather than try to shove ranch down your throat for 25 mins just because they can.
In conclusion, Archer is a great show, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a good laugh, or looking for something to binge for the weekend.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
Great movie
Atlantis the lost empire is personally one of my favorite Disney movies, because of the way it sets itself apart from the other Disney movies. Most Disney movies are rather light hearted, and don't have too much heavy material. Though Atlantis the lost empire is appropriate for all ages, it still stands out as more 'edgy' than most other Disney productions, containing death scenes, intense battle sequences, and mild violence.
The characters are also pretty likable. The movie follows a young man by the name of Milo Thatch, voiced by Michael J. Fox, and his expedition to find the empire of Atlantis. He has a lot of personality, and his character is very well animated. He meets several other characters on his journey, and they devealope as the story goes on.
In conclusion, Atlantis, the list empire is a must-see, and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of animation, or adventure.
The Simpsons: Bart the General (1990)
A classic
Bart the general is by far one of the best episodes of the first season. This was the episode that introduced Nelson Muntz, and established him as the "bully". The story starts out when Bart accidentally gets on Nelsons bad side, so he asks his grandfather for help. What makes this episode special is the consistent plot, that always has you watching attentively, and you never feel like you are in stagnant water. The episode is made to represent WWII movies, and we direct references to the movie Patton. Overall, I would rate it 10/10, because I feel this movie perfectly represents what we love in The Simpsons.
