CHiPs (1977–1983)

reliving my past
6 November 2023
I just found all the seasons of CHiPs to watch again on streaming media. Used to watch this every evening as a kid. It's kind of like watching that show of the kids growing up in the 80's, it brings back a lot of memories. 55mph speed limits on the freeway, gas prices well under a buck (in Cali even).

As an adult like another reviewer said i love watching the scenery and seeing what's changed. I also get a kick out of seeing how low budget the show was. The ramps on the back of the cars anytime there's an accident. The high speed car chases i used to be glued to the edge of my seat on i now realize were at like 25mph or so.

Character cast seems to be limited also. A lady that car theif was brought back as a roller skate leader, and then used later as a female CHP officer, reforming criminals back then must have worked very well.

And then there's the actors and actresses i never realized were on the show and were big stars later, or big back then with guest appearances. Pretty cool to see these old geezers like me when they were young again.

ER (1994–2009)

Exceptional
15 June 2023
I watched ER when it first aired on TV in the 90s and now i'm reliving some of my favorite tv episodes watching it again almost 30 years later.

When i first watched it i liked Peter, i thought he was just misunderstood and a good guy. This time through i see how drastically wrong i was. Such an arrogant self centered waste of air, the stereotypical "I'm a surgeon i'm God"

Greene was and still is my favorite, the growth of this character was very well done by the writers. Adding Lucy Knight was a good touch, the show needed another hot blonde since Anna left and Susan before her.

I'd suggest binge watching this show, it's definitely worth it and was the start of all the successful hospital dramas. Note that said Successful, there were many before ER but it was the first major primetime hospital drama success.

Wentworth (2013–2021)
7/10
They should have ended at season 5
1 May 2023
I started watching Wentworth when it first came out but couldn't get into it. I recently came back to watch and I was hooked. They did a wonderful job with the characters. Pamela Rabe did an excellent job getting us to despise Joan and cheering Mr. Jackson at the end of season 5. That was a twist!

But then the writers went off in left field with season 6 and it was a struggle to continue watching. Was that when Fox took over? It's like they didn't care to expand on the characters anymore and were just dragging the show along for the money. I'm only 4 episodes into season 6 as I write this, and I'm not sure I'll make it through many more unless something happens to catch our attention again.

So sad to see such a good show start dying out with 3 more seasons to go.

A good watch on a rainy day
1 March 2023
I like reality tv. And this one is different than the other shows. It's an interesting twist. My only complaint is that it's too transparent. You know the winner of each season in the first 4 or 5 episodes. You'd think all the players would figure it out when one person is in the top 3 multiple times that they gotta go or they'll win. Which is what happens every season.

I keep watching to see if someone will wise up and take down the leader, make it a more cut throat season than the previous 5 goody goody lets be nice to everyone all the time. Although this last season had a bit of that in the anonymous games than the previous seasons.

I'll keep watching for that shark to really arrive.

Warning: Spoilers
I got bored with netflix and hulu and decided to get Discovery +, and there i find a show i used to watch every week. Ghost Adventures. So i start binge watching and anticipating one of my favorite episodes, the gutted house in Vegas where the brick was thrown.

Much to my dismay, this episode is not avialable on Discovery + I checked my other stream app for this and i can't find it anywhere.

Why did they pull this episode?!?!?

fake mostly but entertaining
23 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Okay so a few of the clips you have to scratch your head on and wonder they could be real paranormal stuff. But most of the clips this show has are obvioulsy fake. I mean the Grubb guy controlling the wind, anyone can stand on a hill beside a building on a windy day and do that, total fake.

Majority of the hauntings and moving objects are fake, they never show the full area, where someone is likely standing and pull in a sting making the object move. Like the chair in the guys apartment that moves after he pushes it. It doesn't show the full chair in the clip, there's obviously someone there helping.

But my favorite is the storm on the coast on the island that had the quake, lightening in the sky caused by the quake is aliens coming to get them lmao, man that one had us all laughing.

Other than all the fakes and random 1 or 2 possible really paranormal clips it's an entertaining show that gives you a laugh or 2.

Another great show drawn on too long and lost sight of it's roots

Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this on Netflix as a binge show. I fell in love with the original cast from the beginning. Stabler kept Benson in check, and Capt. Kragen kept them both in check. Then comes season 11 (i think it was) that ends with Stabler shooting the kid in their squad room. So no more stable to keep Benson on track. Then one of the best characters retires - Sgt. Munch. and the show needs a new Sgt. so who else but Benson gets it. Oh and then Kragen retires, and now they need a new leader, so obviously, this show is now The Olivia Benson show. It's stopped being about the SVU, it's now a drama about Benson. Her kidnapping, her torture, her adoption, etc.

They need to get back on track and involve the rest of the cast more, like they used to do. This 1 man (or woman rather) team of Olivia Benson and her wishy washy law enforcement is getting really old. I finally made it through season 20, I'm finding it very hard to make myself start watching Season 21
