Zero Character Development
13 December 2018
I've not read the books, but I feel as though they missed out huge chunks of the story. Their was absolutely no character development (apart from the main few) which consequently meant that any deaths or emotional monologues were completely wasted on the audience. Some parts were almost so cheesy it made us laugh. The film is visually epic, and there are many parts of it that are "beautiful" to watch, but spoiled by the poor story line which is a real shame considering there are some great actors thrown in there. I'm not sure that this would be any good if you weren't watching it in a cinema environment.

Sad, gripping re-telling.
18 October 2018
This is a long movie but is definitely worth the 2.5 hour sitting. The movie is gripping and fast-enough paced that you don't get bored. Perhaps because the real event is still fairly recent (within the last decade), but I found it was really profound and sad. Half of the movie is the event with the other half focussing on the aftermath of this on one particular kid's life. Netflix can churn out some bad films, but this was not one of them. I'd recommend for a gripping sit-down and watch kinda movie night.

Paul Bettany as Ted
7 February 2018
I initially thought this might just turn into a FBI vs. Serial Killer standard crime series, however, when we are properly introduced to Ted Kazinscky - it becomes truly gripping. Paul Bettany does an incredible job of playing the role of The Unabomber, Ted Kazincsky: dark, ominous, highly intelligent and manipulative. I was young when the real incidents happened in the 90's, but I felt the series was compelling whilst not straying too far from the truth about this story. I'd recommend a watch.

Thought it might not be my cup of tea.... But totally gripped!

I initially saw this advertised and thought *sigh*, another Breaking Bad - which I really struggled to get through, personally. However, I gave this a go. The episodes are hour-long and fairly fast-moving so it's ideal for if you have a short attention span! The story line is great and I found myself hooked in the first episode.

Initially, I found it a bit odd seeing Jason Bateman in a serious role, as I'd only ever seen him in comedy films! However, his character is fantastic and fits well with the role. His character is genius, sly and cunning but a good old family man. Dark and dramatic, but with a great pace and interesting events in each episode.

Bring on Season 2!
