The Arrival (1996)
Very well thought out story
I loved this movie. Whatever Charlie Sheen is in real life, he can act. I was hooked pretty much from the start. The storyline is interesting and kept my attention. A lot of tension all the way through. Almost every person he thought he could trust turns out to be an alien or someone helping them. Lindsay Crouse was really good as the only one he could really trust and of course, they killed her. The aliens' legs are creepy. Maybe the alien plot to change our environment is what's going on now. Kidding. I'm watching "The Arrival II". I wish Charlie was in it but he's killed off , "out of sight" by a "heart attack". If you like sci-fi, you will enjoy "The Arrival"
Billy Joel: A Matter of Trust (1986)
The Best Billy Joel video
My favorite of his videos ever since it came out. He looks like he is having a great time. The people dancing makes it a lot of fun to watch. I love Piano Man but this video just makes me happy.
Perry Mason: The Case of the Jilted Jockey (1958)
"These apartments are far from soundproof"
I like this episode. Just one thing that hasn't been mentioned. If the neighbor could usually hear everything that went on in the hall, why didn't he hear Tic when he hit the wall after he was thrown out of Starr's apartment? Looks like that would have been loud enough for the neighbor to have run to his door even before the first shot. Oh well.
The Twilight Zone: The Card/The Junction (1987)
How the "heck" do you want your eggs? The Junction
One of my absolute favorites. An accidental time travel trip that puts two men in the same place but 70+/- years apart. The actors are perfect for their characters. One is having marital problems. One was dating a twin and they switched places on the day he proposed. So he asked the wrong one to marry him and she said, "Yes". So she's the one he married. I really enjoyed the different background story lines. Everyone else reviewed the story and characters so I won't. I just love the episode. The letter that was kept in the church for 70 years to be delivered on a certain date but was delivered a day late saved Parker's life. The cave-in saved his marriage. I know I tend to ramble but I just love this episode. But I like most time travel stories,
The Outer Limits: Worlds Apart (1996)
Someone to Watch Over Me
One of my favorites of the newer OL. Hitchcoc already gave the details, so no reason to repeat them. This is a great episode, start to finish. Not slow or boring. All that water takes my breath away. I'm a little afraid of water. I like the different storylines. They didn't leave any loose ends not tied up. I love the scenes that were supposed to show the planet he landed on. She was right. He was already gone. He loved the adventure more than her. And, I got a new song for my collection.
Perry Mason: The Case of the Married Moonlighter (1958)
Just a thought
In this episode it has a lady wanting to marry a man she loathed. Then, after he was murdered, she quickly married her business partner, that she obviously didn't love. Why would a woman do that? She must have been pregnant. I can't think of any other reason. Yes, it happened back then but women didn't want everyone to know like they do now. It was shameful to be in that position. And her being a business owner would have made her want to hide it even more. I think her business partner was in love with her and took advantage of her situation to get her to marry him. Everyone else has reviewed the other parts of this episode so I won't. Just thinking about this unexplained storyline.
Perry Mason: The Case of the Sun Bather's Diary (1958)
If you love to hate Burger, this is a great episode.
I really like this episode. I get to be mad at Burger all the way through it. I don't understand how he could drag Perry to be questioned by a grand jury with an uninvestigated pack of lies. 1, Perry didn't see a murder. 2, Arlene was not his client at that time. 3, He did not lower and raise the shade as a signal or any other reason since he wasn't even there. And why was the testimony of the police detective so much more true than Perry's? I just get to want to strangle Burger from almost start to finish. Love it! And the ending was so good. I think Burger definitely should "eat it here"! Just a great episode except I don't like that the sweet little man was the victim.
The Outer Limits: I Hear You Calling (1996)
One of my favorites
I really like this one. Ally Sheedy is great as the driven reporter. She can't stop till she gets the whole story. Unfortunately, she should have listened to Michael Sarrazin's character and let this story go. I've liked Sarrazin since he played Frankenstein's monster and twisted Jane Seymore's head off. I love the ending of this episode where she finds out that the victims of the horrible virus don't die, just get transferred to another planet. This episode builds suspense right to the end. I was right with her in thinking they died. When he told her they were just going to another world, I was sooo relieved. Just a great episode. I watch it every chance I get.
The Ray Bradbury Theater: Great Wide World Over There (1992)
Probably my favorite Ray Bradbury Theater episode
Tyne Daly was so perfect. Just a sweet little story. I loved each character. Definitely one to watch again.
The Twilight Zone: The Incredible World of Horace Ford (1963)
It doesn't pay to try to forget things.
I don't get why so many hate this TZ episode so much. Horace does get on my nerves but I can understand what's going on with him. He has pushed a terrible childhood memory down by making up a happy childhood. It finally has to come out. He was childish but it got worse as his birthday got closer. When he went to Randolph St. The first time, he was shocked to see the boys he knew as a child. On the second night he was beginning to remember that he was involved in what the boys were talking about but he couldn't remember how. On the third trip, it all came back. It leaves you hoping that his behavior got a lot better as he faced up to the truth. Of course, it is the TZ so there is him becoming a little boy again and Herme bringing the watch home. There are loose ends that don't get tied up. And you would think his mom would have remembered Horace coming home all beat up but, oh well. I enjoy this episode maybe because many of us bury bad childhood memories but thankfully they don't affect us like they did Horace. Oh, and the little delinquents he thought so much of were probably all in prison at his age.
Murder, She Wrote: Keep the Home Fries Burning (1986)
A wrong view of nurses.
This is one of my favorite MSR episodes. Except for one scene. When Wilhelmina gives the nurse a tip. That bugs me to no end. Nurses do not take tips. Nurses are professionals who worked hard to get their license. We were not allowed to take tips of money anywhere I worked. We did receive an occasional gift or food for the floor but no money. Nurses are not waitresses who have to depend on tips. Nurses are paid well, although not enough for all they do, but people don't give doctors tips and they shouldn't tip nurses either.
One Step Beyond: The Voice (1960)
I remember this but couldn't remember what show it was on.
I remember just a little about this episode from when I was a little girl. I have wanted to see it again for many years but didn't remember what show it was on. It doesn't seem to be on Prime Video. It's missing from their episodes. Now that I know what to look for I'm going to try to find it. Coop-16 says it's not on video anywhere but I hope to find it.-------UPDATE---Found it on YouTube. Very good video. I very much enjoyed getting to see it again.
Perry Mason: The Case of the Sausalito Sunrise (1966)
Remake of the Case of the Moth-Eaten Mink.
Even though it's a remake of a previous show I always enjoy it. I wish CBS All Access had seasons 6 and 9. Plenty of action, some loose ends that don't get tied up but it's a great show.
