Scavengers Reign (2023)
Incredible
Visuals, audio design, music, the actual media aspect of it is absolutely incredible. The intro alone is breathtaking.
First animated series I've seen in a long time with such an engaging story. Many aspects, all intertwining, haven't seen the whole series yet (for obvious reasons) but am looking forward to what comes next.
Not to mention the incredible world building, so unique, in such a good way. The features in this fictional world are all so different and alien, and to such an extent that I haven't really seen in other works in quite a while.
Highly recommend this show to anyone who enjoys science fiction, worldbuilding, or even just animation as a whole.
Glass Onion (2022)
Disappointed
The mystery was resolved with new information and not an actual new thought process based on old information, that being said they did apply that process to other factors in the plot (just not the actual mystery).
There were some funny gimmicks and the acting was pretty good, but for a mystery/detective movie you'd expect better. It almost felt like the mystery was a subplot to some of the other things going on. The conclusion was decent but didn't keep me interested, it resolved the plot emotionally but when it came to actually proving the case (and there were ways of doing so) it wasn't ideal.
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy (2022)
Perfect
I am blessed to live in an artistic renaissance, this show along with a few others just prove to me this statement time and time again.
Acting, incredible. Music and sound design, incomparable. Plot and character development, next to none match.
I feel as though every new show I watch is better than the last.
Severance: Defiant Jazz (2022)
Absolutely Incredible
This episode has one of the greatest twists I've ever seen on a show that would surprise and amuse even the most astute observer.
Highly recommend this episode, probably the best one yet.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
A Classic
While this movie may not be much appreciated by first time viewers, each consecutive rewatching heightens its enjoyability and the viewers interaction with the humor.
The Batman (2022)
NOT FLASHY
If you're looking for explosions, fast paced antics, and pure adrenaline with a side of humor this movie is not for you.
Some people say this is a mystery film, but it is not. While a mystery is involved, this movie is for people looking for a "noir-esque" thriller focused on self discovery and understanding with a side of some badass visuals and fight choreography.
The Simpsons: That '90s Show (2008)
Untraditional View of the Family
Yes, the "older" fans or long-time fans hate it because the episode itself doesn't necessarily hold on to the past seasons.
But I think they're missing the point of this episode and episodes like it. The Simpsons was never meant to be a show with a linear timeline or even an overall plot.
It was made to display individual stories. Like a modern equivalent of the newspapers comic strip - using set characters to try to make a joke or story come across to the audience made to leave any and all consequences behind.
