The Holiday (2006)
10/10
Intriguing story of romance
2 February 2008
I don't know why this does not get a 10, while it is very hard to rate a movie since so different people are please by different aspects in a movie this was a truly creative romance story.

When I say creative I mean that it didn't take fancy lights or characters dressed up in costumes to make it what it was. Like a good book is meant to draw you to it, I mean, the writer's job is to tell the story and both have you stay truly interested as well as feel it the way the writer feels it.

This is why I liked "The Holiday", I feel it truly, from beginning to end, managed to both keep me glued to it as well as the ability to really feel what the writer was trying to portray. That is where I say by definition, I would think the writer really hit the mark, the mark of course being a 10.

OK, now about what I really felt, not only did I love the movie, the story line but this is not what I consider a one shot (another words, a movie I see once then i'm done). This movie is able to put me in a mood and for that, it is a movie I would watch again from time to time. I hope others enjoy it as much as I have but I strongly recommend, at least see it once, you'll probably want to see it again, even more than once.

great creative movie, spooky, but where did it go-i never see this on cable..
2 January 2008
I really liked this movie, it is one of those movies that really sneak up on you and spook you more as it goes along but why doesn't it ever come out on TV or USA or TBS or HBO.. To all with the power to put this back on TV, please get it back on.. I know a few people who would like this movie. Other movies like this i'd like to see on TV, basic cable or premium (ie:HBO) Also mysteriously spooky movies i'd like to see along with this one.. The Changeling, Ghost Story These are movies that, while they may not have had a great rating.. they were great in that they were all eerie & spooky, unlike Jaws, it didn't just come right out and bite you but it spooked you and I would love to see all these back on TV, all of them were about an 8 in rating.

It Happened One Christmas (1977 TV Movie)
10/10
Message to Marlo, The Producer, Universal, whomever has the rights to get this back on -- loved it -- on a scale of 1 to 5, a 6..lol.
30 December 2007
I don't know if it was because of the time in my life but this movie was so special in my heart. It's a wonderful life might as well been the remake of this. I love, love, loved this movie.. just one question --were did it go, it fell off the face of the earth, I think it came out again maybe 2 years after, then gone for good.

I would love to know why this movie isn't around anymore, never replayed on TV anymore, I don't know what kind of rating it got but if it was a poor rating, that was unjust! I stand behind the many comments you see here. What I would love to see in this order is, at best to at least...

At best: A faithful 1080p (1920x1080) release of this movie in HD with 5.1 sound as a blue-ray or HD-DVD release. I don't know that even the original master, even if it had this resolution has the color quality but if it could look great, it would be extra special.

That it starts to come up on, at least, a cable channel such as, maybe, TBS or USA or even just regular television during the pre-Christmas season or just about any time of the year.

At least: As a standard DVD release.

Please, please somehow bring this back.

Thanks

wasn't this show on creature feature years ago..
24 January 2006
my gosh.. to me that was the scariest series. I would love to see creature feature come to the scifi channel, the best movies but most off, the scariest intro, scenes when returning to and leaving from show for commercials, both in sound and imagery. I clearly remember it in black and white as that was the TV I most watched creature feature on.

This was the 2nd or 3rd scariest show, especially when the brain w/eyes comes zooming in. Its creepy looking enough as it is. That alone makes it worth watching this film. The best was house on haunted hill, 2nd was some movie that maybe someone could put up here but all I remember was a china closet slowly spookily moving across the room in sort of an attack fashion but this is definitely either 2nd or 3rd best.

A definite must see, scary in a creepy sort of way, 7.0

one of the most exciting fighter jet action movies i've seen..
5 December 2005
not too much top's the classic "top gun" or "independence day" when it comes to fighter jet excitement. Yes, the movie top to bottom is based on a truly fictional example of how anyone can pull off a rescue but it is cool because it breaks all traditional rules. The kid doing what he wants to do in a jet the way he wants to do it.

I can't really put my finger on just what I love about this movie but others I know that saw the movie feel the same way about it I do. I think its just basically a lot of fun but maybe a little too unrealistic for some to buy into.

Again, regardless, I loved it, people who I know saw it, loved it so its definitely worth seeing to make your own decisions about it. Put it this way, I thought that Top Gun was one of the best fighter pilot movies ever and I like this movie just as much if not more than Top Gun. Don't miss out, do see it, a truly inspirational movie.

one of the most romantic movies on a fantasy level i have seen in 25 yrs and great music..
16 November 2005
A few things come to mind with this movie right off.. 1. I love the energy level, the romance, the chemistry between ONJ & Michael Beck, the fantasy & the fight for them to be together. 2. I don't think I have ever seen Olivia more pretty than in this movie, even compared to Grease. 3. Olivig Newton John, Gene Kelly & Michael Beck do a great job of showing a beautiful appreciation, collaboration (for lack of better words) of mixing the energy of the big band 40's era with the high energy rock bands of the early 80's. 4. Great music from Olivia Newton John & ELO

Overall: A great family movie, especially for people of mixed generations who love romance and fantasy. Often terribly underrated though I don't know why, it is basically a fantasy-romance movie, hope this comment helps.
