Naseeb (1981)
Mega stats hit in the early 80's :)
This film is a gem. It has to certainly be an all time classic for people of my generation who grew up in the 70's and 80's. To those who live in England, it is of special significance as it was shown on Channel 4 a few times in the mid and late eighties.
It all starts when four friends Kader Khan,Amjad Khan,Pran and Jagdish)receive a winning lottery ticket and Jagdish wins. Out of sheer greed Kader Khan and Amjad Khan kill Jagdish and frame Pran. They throw Pran into a river and he is persumed dead. Kader Khan and Amjad Khan start a hotel with their winnings. Years later we find out that Pran is actually very much alive and returns to avenge his friend's murder, which results in a superb finale that takes place in a hotel.
& super songs sung by Mohammad Rafi,Kishore Kumar with great music by Laxmikant Pyarelal.one of the evergreen movie in the history of Bollywood..
Teesri Manzil (1966)
Murder mystery, thriller Night in the 60's & the great stylish villain Premnath in the 60's :)
Premnath wanted to be a hero like his Raj Kapoor. But couldn't really make it. This movie marks the second phase of his career. as a character actor and villain. The really shone this time. the villain.one of the great stylish villain in the 60's & 70's after glorious villain Ajit saab.
This movie is one of the landmarks in the history Hindi Cinema. For 158 minutes the audience is enthralled by a spellbound plot, music, dance, songs and suspense saga. The performance of Shammi Kapoor, Helen, both Prems, Iftikar & Rashid Khan is classic. Even during the 5 mt brief intermission, the cine-goer prefers to be glued to his seat lest the entry of Premnath the villain immediately after the intermission be missed.
Even 53 years down history, its music and songs are as hit as they were when the first gramophone records were released in 1965. I remember people queuing before the radios in shops and halt in the streets when the songs were played. Needless to say, not a single Wednesday program of Binaca Geetmala in 1966 thru 1968 was aired without a Shammi number either from Teesri Manzil, An Evening in Paris and Bhramachari.
This is a perfect example of Indian pop cinema from the 1960's reflecting the relentless encroachment of Western style music and beat generation dancing - however R. D. Burman composed some good tunes for this, perfectly showcasing the talents that were Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi. really great song sung by great Rafi saab.
Super direction by Vijay Anand as usual.great reddish & pink color camera used in the night of 60's..
Vishwanath (1978)
Great stylish Villain Premnath as *GNK*
Premnath wanted to be a hero like his BIL Raj Kapoor. But couldn't really make it. This movie marks the second phase of his career. as a character actor and villain. The really shone this time. the villain..
Subhash Ghai can and did.in Vishwanath a 1978 offering.Riding on the success of earlier Kalicharan Note Cricketers name as titles in both with the same team of Shatru-Reena Roy, this one is a dud ,a mindless crime and retribution movie with Shatrughan looking very good in the first half , but comes off very stereotyped and predictable with cheesy one-liners having a series of repeated showdowns with Premnath, the villain.
Rukhsat (1988)

super acting By Mithun is Awesome in few of The Emotional Scenes. Anuradha Patel & Marc Zuber Are Equally Good. Rest of The Cast is fine.
wonderful music By Kalyanji Anandji. "Deewana Main Hoon Tera" By Kishore Kumar is Best Track.

Inkaar (1977)
Superb Thriller of 70's Golden era :)
This is a superb Thriller of 70's Golden era :)very well directed, fast paced with only 3 songs to break the pace. It was ahead of it times and would make for a great remake. The acting by Vinod Khanna,Shriram Lagoo and Amjad Khan is noteworthy. The background score is really good & adds to the tension. The camera work is excellent job with reddish & green vintage camera.the stunts are pretty good.the romantic angle could have been done away with because it adds nothing to the story line and introduces a useless romantic number to slacken the pace of the movie. Vinod Khanna plays his macho image well while Amjad Khan is great in his negative role
A real thriller of 70's A must watch movie even in the year 2019 :)
Sarfarosh (1985)
Super pair Jeetendra Sridevi Kishore Kumar in the 80's :)
Finding a way to get away from the British captive; three prisoners Satyadev, Nyaya Sharma and Dharmadhikari decides to diverge information to the British about the where-about of the leader of freedom-fighter gang, Jwala Singh. To this extent Jwala is apprehended and is given long jail term; years later when he is released from jail he plans to take revenge on the three who has now established themselves well as India's most wanted criminals.
Leena comback film after 10 years. In 1970's she acted opposite Jeetendra in many films, she also acted in those days in Jeetendra home production Humjoli and incidentally her comeback was with Jeetendra and in Jeetu's home production. When Jeetendra went to sign her for the film, Kishore Kumar told Jeetendra okay just to make him happy. In reality he did not want Leena in the film or near Jeetendra. When she told him she had signed the contract and had to go, Kishore Kumar sulked like a child for 2 weeks. When she went to Madras to shoot for the film, he would call her every hour to see what she was doing and remind her to keep away from Jeetendra. Kishore Kumar even went as far as to threaten we would not do any playback singing for Jeetendra.
super song "chor chor" sung by Kishore Kumar for Jeetendra & Asha Bhos;e for Sridevi. wonderful music dun by Laxmikant payrelal.wonderful to watch this Era of 80's..
Don (1978)
(: Mega thrillers of the 70's -DON :)
This movie has to be one of the best thrillers of the 70's and it still packs a punch today. The reason is simple, you think you know the whole story then suddenly the plot twists leaving you all shaken up. The script by Salim Javed was absolutely superb. Amitabh excelled in a role he was born to play. Zeenat Aman provided good support as his love interest. Even Pran lent fantastic support. This film isn't the greatest to ever hit Bollywood, nor it is a path breaking film for the industry. Don is a genuine entertainer with an interesting story line for the 70"s era. They could have spent half the film showing the notorious don but instead the character dies soon, and later is replaced by a look-a-like. Which is where we get plenty of laughter and light moments. Towards the end when he is discovered by the police to be a fake Don, he is in a big soup. It is interesting how he manages to prove himself innocent, and how he find the father of the kids he was taking care of.
mega hit songs by Kishore Kumar & Asha Bhosle with the powerful music done by Kalyanji Anandji :)
one of the best movie I have ever seen in the vintage era 70's with greatest night view camera work used in this mega hit film Don :)
Bullet (1976)
The Best Thriller 70's
This was probably Dev Anands last sane movie. He went flat out into loud, vulgar 70s mode after Bullet. A real pity because Dev Anand was & is a great actor. Dev had long been the king of the thriller genre & Bullet adds a notable feather to his well decorated cap.
He plays CID officer Dharam Dev hot on the heels of DP ( Kabir Bedi). DP realising Devs on his case frames him on a drunken driving
On Devs release from jail he sets off on DPs chase with even more gusto only for DP to frame him on a Kidnapp/Murder charge.
Dev Anand was at his very best, calm & restrained. Bedi is suave & charming as the villain, probably his best bollywood role. Parveen Babi as Devs girlfriend looks gorgeous whilst Rakesh Roshan plays his part well.
This was amongst the best movies of the 70's & a must for bollywood 70's aficionados!
super song sung by Kishore Kumar for Dev Anand with glorious music made by RD Burman.Especially "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke Kishore Kumar,Asha Bhosle & off course great editing plus fantastic direction in night by Vijay Anand in the 70's golden Era of bollywood.
In my word golden jubilee picture in the 70's :)
Shareef Budmaash (1973)
Stylish villain AJIT in the great 70's Era
The Government of India has devised plans for a new kind of super aircraft. A gangster, Diwan, manages to procure this plan from corrupt military officials, and hides it in his safe along with other valuables. The police find out that the plans have been stolen by a "Diwan", and start a manhunt for all Diwans in Bombay. When they come across the Diwan, they ask him to show them his valuables, which he agrees to do so. To his shock, he finds that he has been burgled. The police conclude that the thief is none other than Diwan's trusted man, Ajit. They have him arrested, but he refuses to divulge any information. Diwan recruits a man called Rocky to spring Ajit from prison, as well as find out where he has stashed the valuables. Rocky, who keeps on denying that he is indeed Rocky, agrees to do so for a large sum of money as his fee, to which Diwan agrees. Rocky's plan is to seduce cabaret dancer, Seema, who is the lover of the Jailer, and hence gain entry to the jail. When this fails, Rocky gets himself arrested and jailed in the same prison as Ajit. Upon his entry in the prison, is where the truth surfaces that the man they call Rocky is not Rocky at all but an impostor, who has agreed to be Rocky just to get the large fee. The real Rocky, who calls himself Kanhaiyalal, agrees to help the false Rocky escape from prison, along with Ajit, so that they can find the plans and hand them in to Diwan, and collect their fee. But fate has other plans for the false Rocky, as he is caught by another master criminal and gangster, Ranjeet, and held until he tells him about the whereabouts of the plans as well as the valuables.
