The Wrong Woman (2013)
Painfully poor bad acting.
Save yourself some time & don't bother watching this film. The acting was incredibly bad & embarrassing to watch, in particular the male police officers & the husband. The acting abilities of this cast was like watching young children trying to act.
When she was arrested at home (with no Miranda rights being read to her) she just ignored her daughter, just left her in limbo unsupervised without even asking anyone to care for her.... didn't even acknowledge the daughter being left.
Forgotten Evil (2017)
Predictable & bad acting.
Where did they dig up these actors....
Probably the worst acting I've ever seen except from Mariah, she was okay.
Sometimes in April (2005)
Powerful, gripping & terribly tragic.
This film I have watched about 5 times. It's incredibly powerful, sad, tragic & moving. What is even more horrifying is the knowledge that this happened in real life & not that long ago. I cannot fathom how they could carry out these atrocious acts. It's barbaric & haunting, very sad & thought provoking.
The Light Between Oceans (2016)
Great movie with strong acting
Spoiler warnings:
I really enjoyed this movie & have since watched it five times. I've always enjoyed films made during the early 1900/post WW1 & this is a very good movie that doesn't disappoint.
Both Michael Fassbender & Alicia Vikander were very strong in their acting, but you can also see a great chemistry between them, which obviously helps strengthen their acting and the film.
Since watching & googling them both, I now know they are since married, obviously found great chemistry & it definitely shows in the movie.
Beautiful scenery, strong acting, gut wrenching miscarriages and still births only add the the very sad circumstances & shows just how much heartache, depression and devastion miscarriages & stillbirths cause. Unusual & difficult circumstances forces this couple to claim a infant baby that they found through unusual circumstances as their own, a baby who they rescued that doesn't belong to them, which again reiterates that desperate grieving parents would do unthinkable out of normal character things when grieving the loss of their own babies.
The movie shows the dilemma Fassbender went through whilst riddled with guilt over keeping this baby that didn't belong to them, yet wanting to help his grief stricken wife who he is so in love with, overcome her grief over another miscarriage by allowing her to keep this baby. The things we can do when we love someone.
They both loved, cherished & adored this baby girl who they raised. Yet his guilt & wanting the rightful mother to know her child was loved & safe made him leave notes & hints to let her know the baby was loved & cherished. Obviously it backfired because the police found out & traced it back to them.
The hardest part of this movie is when the true mother of the baby finally gets the baby back, who by now is about 3 or 4??
The child is suffering from missing the only parents she knew (Vikander & Fassbender) & the difficulties the child & real mother faced while trying to reinstate the child back into her true family.
Great scenery, great acting with a good script. Not a fast paced movie, but well worth watching.
I score this a 10/10 for so many reasons.
The Hazing Secret (2014)
Woeful & embarrassing acting.
This film was woeful at best.
The acting by all cast members was so bad, it was embarrassing to watch. I only kept watching to see how much worse it could get & it did.
So many plot holes, goof ups, continuity stuff-ups everywhere.
The therapist looked all of 15, but was probably around 23 & we were told he'd been counselling her for 5 years? Surely after 5 yrs of no progress you'd give up & go elsewhere?? Not to mention the fact he's obviously a "rich genius" because (A) He's got his own practice SO young & (B) he obviously trained very young, like in primary school.
With credible actors it could have worked, but with this cast & low budget it is best forgotten.
Ps, The best acting was probably the ending scene with Meghan & Bryan saying they still loved each other & Bryan looked like he had real tears flowing!
We Were Soldiers (2002)
Gripping from start to finish.
I loved this movie so much, that I watched it 5 times in 2 days.
I loved this movie for so many different reasons. It was gripping, real, emotionally hard from start to finish.
The first 30 minutes, you learn about the characters & their families.
You learn the true emotional struggles they & their families faced both before, during and after.
What I personally found hard was that you fall for some of the characters only to find many of them killed in battle. Obviously many babies were born to soldiers who never get to know them or watch them grow up.
My favourite scene would have to be, (without a doubt) the final farewell party where two of the soldiers mimed along to two songs. Greg Kinnear mimed the first song.
The second song -
"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" Song by Mel Carter was the most beautiful, sexy but one of the saddest, because the soldiers & their wives were all lovingly kissing, caressing & saying goodbye to each other prior to the Soldiers leaving for the battle. All of them knowing that this could be the last night & time they ever see each other again.
Sadly, for many it was... broke my heart!
HELP PLEASE!!
If anyone can help identify a particular soldier/actor for me, I'd be very grateful.
It was the soldier miming to THAT ROMANTIC song - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me".
Please tell me who this actor is?!!!
