Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs - Seeing Is Believing (2005)
Extreme Exellence
This report I saw very recently, and a while back. I just saw this report this weekend, Aug 19th. It seemed like a "remixed" and enhanced version of the one I saw a while ago. Anyway, It was really really great!! I considered myself a believer of UFO's, kinda like a blind believer who really wants to believe but is realistic and has never actually seen one for himself. So, after watching this special, it was like therapy! I realized that it just in fact may be this massive cultural subliminal mental layer of beyondness that people absolutely Need as part of the human experience, probably from the beginning of time to the End! Yup, this special ufo report was just that for me. I still want to believe and really do think that "they" are out there, but now, there's a new layer of psychology enfused in my mind that brings me that much closer to sanity. :) Thanks Pete.
Event Horizon (1997)
Good Movies
This movie is Beyond Great!! It's one of the best, if not The Best, dark sci-fi movies of all time!!!!!!! What's in the core?? The acting style still holds up to today's standards (2006), the directing and production is very creative. I feel like movies like this used a different creativity that was more abundant at the time. In this case 1997. It's only been 10 years, but the technology of now certainly has not enhanced the creativity of movies in my humble/angry opinion. What's wrong with Hollywood?? Example MI 3. This style has been done 10 billion times already!! And it's been done way better, with less technology!! WTF! I really think that the creativity is so low today, it's like at a light simmer, and i think it has to do with a mass over indulgence in S E X. How's that for darkness?!? It's like the current consciousness is saying "Who cares, I get laid anyway!" And women don't really care (stereo typically speaking) They just want "chick flicks" e.g. no effects, pure emotion e.g. just be natural and vomit all over the film! How did that make you feel? Somebody please wake me up when they start making good movies again! .....zzzzzzzz ........zzzzzzzzz........ zzzzzzzz........ zzzzzzzz..................
Bring back the Darkness Under a New Control :)
Rize (2005)
Inspiring
This movie definitely moved me. It was something that was so amazing to watch that I want to do it. I really believe it to be and great way for people to put their energy to positive and inspiring use.
I went to the theater not knowing what to expect. I sat down and began to see all kinds of previews for other black movies. I really thought it was going to be a really cool break dancing movie...but it really was....so much more. I was inspired. I really found it to be an awesome display of what the human body is capable of doing physically. I really did not know 'We' could move like that! It's so, energetic and spiritual. There definitely is something spiritual about the whole thing. You know, spirituality is an individual concept, and people collectively reach it together through group prayer or showing affection or keeping their word or many other ways that if you look deep enough and hard enough you can chose to interpret as spiritual. I saw spirituality in this form of worship. They are worshiping being Alive with Energy! Like it was stated in the movie, it really goes back to their African roots. It's definitely a tribal ritual that has evolved greatly.
We all can trace our roots to ancient tribes. We all still have primal instincts in us. We all can learn something from this film.
Sin City (2005)
Gloriously Wicked
Definitely the coolest movie of the year 2005. I saw the previews and I always wanted to see it, but never got around to it. (Sometimes the trailers don't do justice to the awesomeness) Finally I bought the DVD the other day, and I was completely amazed and satisfied with the purchase. I couldn't believe that It too this long for me to watch this movie. I really liked it too much! I was thinking it was going to be good....but not that Good!
Everything about it I liked. The story line, the acting, the way it was shot, the style, the effects....everything. Not really one thing was negative that I can see. Of course, it's not one of those change your life kinda movies like American Beauty or a timeless epic like Lord of the Rings, but.....who gives a $#!+ The Movie is Sick! All the chicks give it some extra greatness too. And Who knew Jessica Alba could move so incredibly beyond sexy. Wow!
You could tell that Quentin Tarantino had his influence in the movie. Whether it was directly or indirectly. You could tell that Rodriguez is a big fan of Tarantino's work. Just his whole style of how to shoot....and everything. I like also the fact that it was chosen to be in all black in white and only key elements were color. This was one of the best aspects of the entire film. I'm beyond glad that I bought the DVD, now, I'm going to tell my family and my girlfriends what i want for Christmas....The Box set!
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Beyond Magic
The Lord of The Rings trilogy, is the greatest trilogy of all time! Each individual movie brought something new and amazing. These movies are absolutely flawless!
This story, being about 50 years old i believe, is phenomenal. I remember being read the book the Hobbit when I was in fourth grade, I was a fan back then! J.r.r Tolken, obviously was a story telling genius, and this action packed, mystically aesthetic adventure, does great justice to the books. Brings fresh new vitality to the imagination.
I do have a slight complaint though....why didn't Gandolf use more magic? He could have easily thrown lightning bolts or fire balls at the Orc army as he rode down the hill (forgot which movie). Or many other times he could have gave Froto a quick levatation boost when necessary. Or did his morality as a Wizard disallow him to tip the scales? Was it because he views Humans and Hobbits almost as children, and wants them to learn and achieve on their own? The world may never know.
Memento (2000)
Reverse Genius
This movie at one point, really tripped me out! The editing sequence of the entire movie is absolutely original (as far as I have seen in my quarter of a century on this planet). Every time you see what you saw before and that's the way the scene ends, it surprises you and makes you question your own cognition. I loved it! Who needs lsd when you have Memento! That's how Lenny is, he's like on a permanent acid trip that he cannot get out of...at all.
Guy Peirce does a solid job at bringing intrigue to the film. You actually are interested for him to find John, you want to find out more, and why. I think this is the "toughest" role Guy has ever played.
Carrie Anne is so beautifully wicked! I love her just as much as Charlize Theron and Uma Therman! Awesome female actresses! Strong, intense, and seductive. Carrie Anne makes you want to give her a nice back hand, and then kiss her passionately.
Memento is definitely in my Top Ten movies of all time!
