Get stuck in.....

I love this movie. The characters are grim and there is a certain tragic feel for both Rita & Sue that their upbringing has set them on this path. Bob is spectacularly acted and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, yet you find you self drawn to him in a way that makes you question your own moral compass. The setting in northern 80's England is great, the real locations make this film so much better. Funny yes, cringing most definitely but one of my favourite British films. Watch it now.

The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

The flesh is starting to fall off the bones of the show

Season 9 is looming and I have been a fan from day 1. I was there when Rick awoke, I was ther when Carol became badass and I was there when Glenn was battered (still can't watch that episode). However, I beginning to loose interest in the story now. Surely it has to end at some point.. My worry is that it will just go on and on and become so dull and predictable. I would rather it end this season and be left with good memories of an amazing show than tuning out and watching something else. AMC, listen to your audience and do t drag it on. I've given 10 stars out of respect to my favourite genre.

I wonder if I am the first to review a movie as I'm watching it. I'm about 3/4 of the way through this abomination of comedy, this putrid scab of 80's movie making, this steaming pile of camel poo!. Honestly, I have sat through some bad movies but this is bad. No comedy, no likeable or relatable characters and no real plot. I've always found Bill Murray a bit hit and miss but I enjoy a good handful of his films but his character was pitiful at best. Chevy was Chevy doing the same thing he always does which is the same in every movie (although I like him in the vacation movies). I can't believe I wasted time on what's considered a classic but I'm sure these people consider weekend at bernies a classic as well. Oh, and my wife has asked me to add that this was worse than Eraserhead.....what...I love Eraserhead!.

I decided that as this was on Netflix I would give it a try. Holy moly!, it's so bad. I knew it would be and went in with a 'devil may care' attitude towards it. However, I can't help but make comparisons to the original. I mean seriously Ray Winston as Pappas, I couldn't tell if his accent was American or cockney. One reviewer said that Luke Bracet made Keanu Reeves look like Daniel Day Lewis.....never a more true word said. The plot was generic and although the action sequences were good it wasn't enough, and the 'firing gun in the air' was best done in Hot Fuzz. I could go on but I suggest watching the original as for watching this....well....ahem.......that would be a waste of time....lol. Oh yeah, it's amazing what tattoos you can create with a sharpie and a GCSE in art.

I don't know what's better, the movie or the song?

A timeless classic, they don't make them like this anymore, and other such sayings that make me sound old. But it's true. For me the 80's was a fantastic decade for film and 9 to 5 certainly ranks up there as a hilarious comedy with a clever plot and great characters , which makes the time fly. However, I do wonder if 9-5 will survive the test of time as I have a horrible feeling that eventually it will be re-made with the female Ghostbusters cast and with Dwayne Johnson Franklin J Hart.

I can just hear Statler and Waldorf really laying into this awful movie.

I really was looking forward to seeing this movie. I honestly thought that it had a good concept. Unfortunately, I did something stupid. I watched it. The story is an average run of the mill buddy cop movie and that's about as good as it gets. Melissa McCarthy was her normal 2 dimensional self and no different in the other dozen mediocre movies she's made. The story was dull, slow paced and honestly I didn't laugh once. The supporting cast were weak and it did not hold my interest after the first 10 minutes. I feel like a complete muppet for watching this.

AVOID

Warning: Spoilers
I loved EQ1 as it was a great story. Clear cut and believable enough. However, EQ2 was quite boring and predictable with a very unconvincing gang member about to commit a crime and a rogue agent who seemed to get killed very easily. EQ1 showed DW as an ordinary guy with a hidden past that helped those who were oppressed. The story escalated quite nicely yet in EQ2 it seemed that he now travels the world like a one man A team. I feel that Hollywood made a generic action film with this one and would watch it when it's out on DVD.

Good honest horror

I was lucky enough to catch the stage show in the West End a few years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the live performance. I have just seen the film version and have to say that it creeped me out...a lot. Good performances and great stories. I don't know if seeing the stage show may have helped those who felt that it was up to scratch but everyone is different, yet I still feel this is well worth a watch. Enjoy.
