Nice movie.
30 June 2019
I was a bit worried about watching this movie when I saw it was in Japanese/English, and I was right about that. Its about 50/50 Japanese/English. After searching and not finding any subs, I decided to give it a go anyhow. The movie is well made, with lots of images from Japanese nature. The acting looks good too, at least not too weird. The japanese dialogue is really hard to understand without subs but thats expected I guess. The movie gave me "flashbacks" to Bruce Lee and Rocky movies, I would not be surprised if the writers have watched all of those films. Tyler Wood and Yusuke Ogasawara are doing a nice job as the main caracters in the movie, and its their first movie for both of them. I would guess not their last :) The directors, Reza Ghassemi and Adam VillaSenor (they are also the writers) are doing a nice job putting the movie together. Part of the movie are in black/white, but it fits the movie good and helps make the "mafia" effect stronger.

I believe this movie could been a strong 8 or maybe even a 9 in my rating, but because its impossible to understand everything without subs, I have to set it as low as 7.

Very boring
15 January 2019
I looked at the reviews before watching this movie, mostly because I never heard of it before. I DO like Max Martini as a actor and was hoping the movie was good. But it ends out that I hate Max Martini as a writer/director. I rarely fast forward on movies, they mostly deserve to be watched, if I want to write a review that is. This time I was tempted more than one time. I cant see any other purpose of this movie than to bore the life out of the audience...

As a "documentary" the movie are less than good (we see it in the news at least weekly, nothing new), as a "adventure" or road movie its less than good (its enough bad road movies out there), as a "action" movie it needs way more action. The "drama" genre fits, but its the most boring drama I have seen in a long time.

Max Martini, please don't do this again, keep your ass in acting only in the future.

As for all off you making a account just to rate/review this movie as 10/10, please let me know what you are smoking to think this are a good movie..

Not that I think smoking stuff will make me change my mind, but it might help me forget that I ever watched it in the first place. It fits good in my list of movies "to never watch again"

Just another roadmovie??
10 January 2019
I was expecting 90 minutes of fun, but I was surprised, it felt way longer than 90 minutes. Basically this movie fits better in drama category, I smiled one time and didn't laugh at all. I'm not sure we can blame the actors, most of them are well experienced and should do better performances. The director/writer, Hannah Fidell, is the next in line, and my feeling is that she have seen lots of road movies and decided to "do it better myself". Well, I think you failed in that. Its common that these movies include, broken car ( at least one time in each movie), fighting in bars, strangers ending in bed together, change in plans (which ends up in a bad way). This movie have all of that, and all other things ever been in a road movie. The story is not "fun", it just makes the movie feel long and dumb (pun intended). I blame this on Hannah Fidell.

The only thing that saves this from a nice one star is that it actually have actors that CAN act, even if they get poor directions. But even the acting is not good enough to give it more than 2 thumbs up, sorry folks.

Really hard to know who to blame!
29 December 2018
This movie have a lot of elements that should be able to make it a good experience; A basically ok story A cute princess in Rebecca Dyson-Smith A good king in Mike Mitchell A evil prince in Jon-Paul Gates A couple of knights in Ross O'Hennessy and Ben Loyd-Holmes A couple of female warriors in Zara Phythian and Jemma Moore A lot of weird evil fantasy creatures A bunch of undead zombie creatures A couple of dragons to top it off.

BUT still its something that is really missing here, not sure if its to blame a weak director or the lack of good script. After just a short time watching you start to feel bored and wonder when the amazing special effects will show up, (the poster promises that there are more dragons than in the combined Hobbit films) In the poster it also claims that the same special effect crew as the one in the Harry Potter movies are hired, but the film makers must have forgot to promise them money for their job, because there are "a bit difference" in the effects and how they looks.... Well there are a couple of dragons, and they are "not too bad" for a low budget movie. But they are not "OMG SO AMAZING" by far. The creatures have average costumes/makeup, blue coveralls and ski mask for many of them.....

The acting is a chapter on its own, its not good, its not average, its really close to bad. This could be to blame on a weak director, but I'm not really sure thats the only reason. For my untrained eye it seems that the actors don't have any chemistry with each others, and are "acting on autopilot". Of the actors I think the best are Jon-Paul Gates, playing the "evil prince" he clearly is good at being evil, but its only limited how much screen time he gets (and he is maybe only looking good because the others are sooooo bad)

The movie ends in a weird way, and my Christmas indulged brain is worried that the ending insinuate a follow up in the future some time. This can only be better than tis movie (crossing fingers), but I still hope it takes a couple of years, at least :)

If you have other interesting things to do, like watch paint dry, please consider that before watching this movie

Best B-movie so far this year :)
24 October 2018
This is a movie for zombie lovers. And its set as "Horror" only, not multiple genres like "Horror, Action, Drama, Sci-Fi, Comedy and Romance", even if it could been put in those genres too. The plot are somewhat common, young good looking people trapped with zombies and a monster, they need to fight their way out. The director, Dominik Hauser, have goon a good job giving the movie momentum and twists. he uses mostly "fresh" actors and I like that. Its easier to be positively suprized whit amateurs :)

The monster is played by Conan Stevens, and he never disappoints, he is huge and scary :) Alina Carson is another of the actors making a good performance as Aneesha, cant wait to see here in another movie, hopefully a action one.

The costumes and makeup are really good, for a B-movie. Same with the location and sets, well done. There are not much CGI here, which make it ok that its not "Avenger" quality over it.

This movie slide right in on my "Watch again" list as the best B-movie so far in 2018 10 thumbs up :)

Clearly a 10 star movie, in crappiness!
18 October 2018
If you think this is a good movie because Nicolas Cage is in it, please rethink that asap. The acting/actors are crap, even Nicolas Cage is crap. The directions are crap. The costumes are crap. The plot are crap. The sound are crap. Basically if this was rating on crap I would give a 10 instantly. This movie is setting the stadard for how to measure crap, is it only partially crap or is it a full Mandy of crap.......

Is it really worht sitting 121 minutes and waiting for the 11 seconds with horror and action? Its hard to find any horrror and action that isent crap.

Im never going to watch this movie again, never EVER. One star is too much, but I have to, or I cant tell about the crap!

Ohhh its on my shame list too ofc :p

Truly a watchable movie!
17 October 2018
Claiming its a watchable movie requires that you watch it in the original language, spanish, its the only "good" option.

All movies, even cartoons, suffer when they are dubbed, dubbing utterly sucks and should be avoided if posible.

This movie is well written, there are some "blank" spots where you wonder why, especially in the beginning. But it isent as bad as I have seen in MANY B movies from USA.

I have watched it 2 times already, first the dubbed to english one, cant say I liked it much. Then in spanish with english subs, and WOW, its better instantly, the sound of the caracters speaking are really underestimated :p

And when the english subs and the english dubbing dont match you can wonder what they are thinking about.

The acting was good, considering they all most likely are "amateurs" The CGI and costumes was suprisingly good too, considering the budget for this movie most likely would match the catering budget to the last Avengers movie.

All in all a good movie, if you manage to watch it in spanish with subs instead of the movie with mediokre dubbing...

9 stars and its on my list of movies that can be watched again :)

Not entirely bad.
5 October 2018
As it is, this is a reasonable good attempt from director Charles Martin to enter the big screen. He is experienced with TV series, and that shows, he struggles to keep it up for the entire movie. He only gets saved by the Chinese actors whom does a good job, if you watch this movie because of Mr Bloom, be warned, he isn't doing his best job here.

The screenplay have some holes, not really big, but you will see them and think "why this?".

The car chase scenes are "fairly OK" , the fighting scenes are the same.

The movie are entertaining and there are not too many dull moments.

If Charles Martin had used a firmer hand on the directing, this movie could been amazing. But it ends up above average, so he cant complain :)

Ohhh and I don't want to comment on Mr Blooms gay look as a blonde...

7 stars, not a movie to forget to watch, but no reason to watch it more than two times.

Seriously??
25 September 2018
I really cant understand why anyone rate this movie as higher than 4. As a silent movie its really REALLY not worth watching. Clearly director Michel Hazanavicius forgot to watch a silent movie first, and any silent movie would helped him.

While watching this movie you have to guess what the plot are, if there are a plot, who knows.

The acting don't give anything away, and the rare boards with explaining text are more annoying than helping.

The actors does a marvelous job, really, they are really good, if there had been sound!

The plot, if there are any?, most likely works really good too, WITH SOUND!

The scenery, filming, costumes, directing, the music basically everything looks good, if it was SOUND!

With sound (speak instead of music), this would be closer to the score IMDb have (currently 7.9) I love black/withe movies and I like silent movies, but in this combo it really don't work. Feel free to try again, but then with actors from theaters or opera, they have body-language that fits silent movies way better.

Sorry to the actors, you guys does a marvelous job, but I cant rate this as anything else than a really REALLY crappy silent movie.

Serving out one star and a deserved spot on the shame list, the never watch this again list :!

Lake Placid: Legacy (2018 TV Movie)
1/10
Not bad.
10 September 2018
This movie I was looking forward to watch. I loved the first Lake Placid movie, and have seen all of them right before this one. I was expecting good CGI, fierce crocks and plenty of gore.

Ohhh boy was I happy I had watched the others first, at least they HAD crocks, and story and CGI and plenty of gore.

AND the movie is made in a part of the world where they at least can see crocks, South Africa has crocodiles, wild and in parks.

The CGI in the movie are most likely made on a Amiga or Commodore computer. And the CGI dude clearly is not from South Africa, or he is blind and never seen a crocodile.

SPOILER ALERT! This movie is not from Lake Placid and Black Lake, Lake Placid is mentioned one or two times in the movie, thats all.

Some of the acting can be described as good, if your not too picky Some of the action can be called action, if you are 5 years old. Some of the Sci-Fi can be called, ohhh wait a minute, the plot is about something that happened 25 years ago, not sure if we can call it Sci-Fi then.. The horror might have been called horror 25 years ago.

In the heading I said "Not bad", that's because it sounds better than "REALLY REALLY SUCKY MOVIE STAY AWAY" that I wanted to write after watching the first 40 mins.

I have to give the movie one star, I just have to, or I cant write review, but there should be a - in-front.

This is a really good candidate to my shame list "Movies to NEVER watch again"

Enjoyable
17 July 2018
I was a little worried after reading the other reviews of this film. Ofc its a "bad" movie, mostly all movies with same person as director, writer and producer are bad.

BUT Richard Harrison has made a funny story, he matching the actors to the story and the result is much better than I expected. And where did you find Chen Shilony? We surely want more of here..

There are lots of drama, some action and even "some really good" comedy. Its brittish comedy so actually most people thinks its crap, but I laughed more than one time.

And the really good thing is that there are no crappy CGI here to get annoyed about :)

All in all a well made B class movie.

Seven thumbs up

Worst film made EVER!
17 July 2018
Well not entirely that, we still have "Monster: The Prehistoric Project" from 2014. Michael Miller as Director/Writer/Producer is a good combination, if the goal is to make a boring and bad movie. The idea is rather good, its just badly written/directed/produced. This is Michael Miller's second attempt on a Sci-Fi movie, and please let it be the last :p The acting is not too bad, atleast the first couple of minutes. They (the actors) looks like they are picked up after their first week on acting school, where they never learned anything.

The CGI and the effects, I cant say they are good, or even close to good. If they was made on a Commodore 64 back in 1982 it would be amazing, today really not so amazing.

IMDb claims that the budget was AUD 50.000 (less than 40000 USD), if thats correct then the movie really are amazing and I would have to give it atleast 5 thumbs up. (would have explained lots about the movie) But I think this is wrong, Michael Miller's last movie had a budget for AUD 550.000 so I assume about the same or more for this.

Barely 1 thumb up

The best Hamsters movie ever
14 July 2018
Mixing hamsters and horror?? WTF? This movie are built up of shorter segments or stories if you like, seperated by a short clip with cute fluffy hamsters in various settings. But hell yeah, it works out nicely. Its not a problem to see its a B movie, or even a C movie, but as the directors lost their director virginity with this movie, you should yhink "WOW! This is their first movie? AMAZING" Some of the actors are in more than one segment, and they do a good job. The directors is doing acting, lighting catering, makeup, audiorecording and "80 other jobs" as it says in the credit. Even Ray Besharah are director for one story. Some of the stories are a bit difficoult to understand the first time you watch them, but there are no reason not to watch this movie again :)

AND the Hamsters?? They are amazing too :)

PS; This is NOT a movie for children to watch alone, its some killing and gore in it. Ohhh, even a couple of boobs, but better with boobs than killing if you ask me....

I cant find words..
25 June 2018
I was looking forward to see this movie, the poster looked promising. Girls in bikini chased by T-Rex while navy SEALS trying to protect them. Ohh boy was I up for a dissapointment. First of all, the navy SEALS are not navy SEALS, they have US Coastal Guards uniforms, and none of them are so stupid they send only 2 soldiers with barely equipment to survive a day to a abandoned island. Yeah yeah, I know its only a movie, but still...

After about 5-6 minutes I was sure I hit my FireFox button and had started a episode of 'Girls Gone Wild', and it was a long episode too, close to 30 mins with girls and boys with little clothes on, doing what they use to do during spring break.

After this, its rapidly going down the drain, the missing Sci-Fi and Horror parts never shows, they are all missing. The girl in bikini beeing chased by a dinosaur is missing. We do see dinosaurs, some really bad CGI gives us some blurry small ones, most likely intended to be raptors, but hard to tell. AND we get a perfect 3 second view of a T-Rex ass.

Carlos Perez have a reputation to write not too good scripts, he dont fail on the failing part here either. Director Lisa Palenica have little to no help from the script, but then again she too have a reputation to direct not too good movies. I really hope she start to learn soon. The actors does as god as its possible I guess, with the bad script and low energy from the director.

To sum it up, its impossible to give -1 star, I really wish it was possible because this movie deserve a -1 star...

Really enjoyable "fun".
17 June 2018
This is Pawel Maslona's first full movie, and I must say I have put him on my 'to watch out for' list. The movie follows 6 different groups, and it does it with bravour. There is a heavily pregnant bride, who is obsessed with having the perfect wedding and the perfect birth; a successful writer in her early forties, who hears her biological clock ticking just a little bit too loud; a gamer who played the wrong person; a married couple sat on a plane next to an annoying man; a bunch of pre-teens experimenting with weed; and a girl who stars in live porn videos. The story moves forward for all 6 stories, and you can early get the feeling that they might just connect somewhat. Its a bit hard to follow the story from time to time, but the story moves FORWARD and no silly jumping back in time to mess up the timeline. The story is really well written, something that is rare when one writer directs the movie, and the other two are actors in the movie. I actually get the feeling that the story could been pulled straight out of the newsdesk @ your closest town :p The caracters are likeable and the actors do a good job. Its blood, sex, drugs, drama, death and a big bunch of black humor. Stamped this with 9 thumbs up. only missing the big 10 because of punchlines lost in translation.....

This is not waste of time!
15 June 2018
This is not waste of time, this is something that actually have happend, and will happend again. The movie isent based upon a true story, but it COULD have been. There should been used more time on writing the screenplay, its a long way forward to make it a awesome movie. Its nothing here qualifying to call it a horror movie, but its for sure a thriller/drama movie.. The acting was rather good, atleast whit the errors there must have been in the screenplay. Might be a lot to blame on Mr Eli Roth for both, directing and writing is a way to ask for bad reviews :p

Basically this is a average movie deserving a average rating. Nothing more and nothing less. 5 thumbs up from me :D

Was I suprized? YES I was...
8 June 2018
First of all, I really really regretted downloading the musical, I was seriously sure I was going to dislike it when I realized it was based on a horror movie from 1984. BUT I had nothing better to do so I thinked 'what the hell, lets watch the first 15 minutes atleast' I dident leave my chair before the show was finished, and not because I fall asleep either. It was truly a nice musical, the music was nice most of the time, the dialog between the music was somewath clever. The caracters fits exelent to the actors and its clear that they have played the show multiple times and really have good chemistry on stage. The interaction between the actors and the musicans/audience reminds you on the fact that this is "all live audience". IMDB call it a musical, I would call it "musical, comedy, horror, action and drama", in that order :) Im REALLY REALLY happy I watched this musical, there are no reasons not to watch it. My only problem is that I now really need to find "The Toxic Avenger" from 1984 and wath that one too, hope I get suprized there too.

A really nice family movie.
5 June 2018
The movie are a animated action/fantasy story for the not too young kids. The story are well written and have nice progress and contains all the elements that should keep you entertained as a viewer. Be aware, if your kids are too young to watch Simpsons or South Park alone, you should also watch this movie together with them, belive me, you will enjoy it too.

Awesome movie!
4 May 2018
This is truly a awesome movie, the only things it misses before I rate it as a 10 is; A proper script. A casting crew that's not sleeping. A director that know what directing means. Actors that can act. Actually its faster to list whats good with the movie, not that I can think of anything at the moment. After watching the first movie I was sure its was impossible to make a follow up that could be worse, but I was wrong. If you liked the first you SHOULD watch this one too. But you should look for a cinema with "Full satisfaction or get your money back!" warranty, you will thank me later...
