Transitions (2019)
Feels like a documentary
I think this show is very well done. These actors lined feel very unscripted, however not like they are bad actors, on the contrary it feels like a natural conversation between drug dealers, cops, users etc
The music is pretty poor in my opinion and the main reason I didn't score this higher. The camera work is very casual, which suits the acting, however at times it seems a tad sloppy.
There is an occasional jab at white people and the police but it's not over the top. Many of these type shows can get overly to the point it doesn't serve the story.
The main protagonist constantly reminds us of how his father led him into this life. The use of books such as The Art of War, and the constant philosophy of "get or be gotten" and "survival of the fittest, law of the jungle" etc serve to remind us that Adonis has chosen this life, it hasn't been forced upon him by society, or Nurture. He does however site his fathers overdose as a pivotal moment in his life
Long winded review and way of saying I highly recommend this show
Stranger Things (2016)
Best show on Netflix
Nothing else to say but great cast, excellent graphics for TV, great musical tie ins and a fat Sean Astin!
Not only is the show launching these young people's careers, it is reviving careers that have been dormant for a while. I'm very happy to see that.
Just binged season two again in anticipation of season 3. Can't wait!!
Colony (2016)
Excellent!!!
The only reason I didn't get this a ten is because they canceled after three seasons.
I realize that's not the shoes fault, but it is what it is.
I am totally sucked into this world I think it's every bit as twisty and turny as breaking bad or lost.
I was never a big fan of that actress from The Walking Dead. She was always very annoying to me. I love the actor that played sawyer on lost, which could be a reason I started watching in the first place.
Having said that she is a total badass and dominates the series. As least as much as her co-star.
I have heard rumors that either Netflix or prime might pick it up, while I don't hold my breath I hope that is the decision that is made by somebody. I believe there's a petition going around to try and save it. While these never work that I'm aware of I would sign it in a moment
Sneaky Pete (2015)
Excellent even if some of the plot is hard to believe
My wife and I started watching one night as there was nothing else on. We were immediately sucked in after the first episode. I would spoil it but it was a little difficult to believe at first, but strong storytelling excellent cast chemistry and beautiful scenery kept us into it until we were totally sucked in.
We just finished season three, mistakingly binged it in a weekend, which means will have to wait quite a while for the next season which sucks. Excellent, watch it
Patriot (2015)
Best series on Prime in a while (except maybe Sneaky Pete)
Solid cast, solid acting, great storyline awesome visuals what else can I say about the show. I even love the music as it is so ridiculous!
Truth be told, it took me over a year to even make it through the first episode. I washed it three times and each time I cut out about halfway through. Finally I decided to watch it from the second episode moving forward and it was totally sucked in, enough to go back and watch the first episode over again for context.

I'm chomping at the bits for the next season, I hope they don't wait too long.
If you haven't seen it absolutely watch it even if you have to watch it from the second episode :-) if you have seen it recommend to a friend!
Shooter (2016)
Not sure what series the one through three stars are watching.
I thought it was a very solid effort, I was very surprised that Ryan Phillippe could actually pull it off as I'm not a big fan of his acting in the past.
I am one of the few people apparently that thought the movie Shooter was terrible. Over-the-top political and Mark Wahlberg is even prettier than Ryan Phillipe.
A few of the very negative reviews hadn't watched very much of the series. I agree that the first episode or maybe even the first two took a while to drag me in. But by the third and fourth series I was totally shocked. He comes back on Netflix tonight and I can't wait to watch it again. Maybe I'll be disappointed in season 3 But I hope not. If you haven't seen it give it a try.
