Drag Race Philippines: Charot of Fire (2022)
Poor production
I could barely see the queens in the music video due to horrendous lighting. It was also terribly edited. Choreography was also not that great.
The best part of the entire episode is Marina and Xilhouete reconciling in the workroom.
Guest judge was not it. It didn't feel like he connected well with the queens. It was rather annoying to watch. His comments were cringe-worthy.
Sound mixing/editing was horrible yet again. I don't understand why they still didn't fix it after all the complaints they received from fans/viewers throughout the season.
The lip sync song they chose was also not good.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: The Kennedy Davenport Center Honors Hall of Shade (2022)
Would have rated this 10 if it weren't for the terrible lip sync
This is one of the best roasts in herstory, but that lip sync was so bad, definitely one of the worst this pandemic era of Drag Race. I also don't agree with Jinkx winning the episode. The Vivienne was way funnier.
Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
I don't even know where to start.
Watching this episode was the most exhausting TV experience I've ever had. The episode is way too long with too many unnecessary scenes. It's bombastic. It's jam-packed yet feels empty at the same time. Production value is at the highest level, but the storyline is rather all over the place. Seems like the writers didn't know what to do with show anymore. Vol. 2 is mediocre, and that's very disappointing considering how incredible Vol. 1 is.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: Papa (2022)
A decent penultimate episode
"Papa" is a decent episode that builds up the story towards the supposedly grand season finale. However, this could be a 30-minute episode because not much really happens in its 1.5-hour runtime. Sure, we finally reach the end of Martin Brenner's storyline as Eleven's "papa", but other than that, the episode is rather dull and boring.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: The Realness of Fortune Ball (2022)
The only AS7 episode so far worthy of a 10-star rating
Fun mini challenge, spectacular main challenge, fair and balanced judging, interesting storyline development, and great lip sync. (The Snatch Game episode had a bad lip sync.)
The winner of the episode totally slayed.
RuPaul's Drag Race: Grand Finale (2022)
Not the best finale.
It was okay at best. The performances were nothing spectacular. Wasn't thrilled the entire time watching it because I knew from the start who would win the season.
RuPaul's Drag Race: Reunited (2022)
Finally, an in-person reunion!
The queens served stunning looks, and I'm happy that they've addressed many of their issues on the show. The overall standout for me was Maddy Morphosis.
Queer Eye: The Mis-Inspiration of Reggie Devore (2021)
A very bad way to end a great season
Boring hero, dull family, questionable fashion choices (especially the one the hero chose for his grand comeback), not-so-impressive look and home transformation, story felt forced, and so much more.
Season 6 is a great season, but this is such a terrible way to end it. Perhaps one of the worst episodes of Queer Eye.
RuPaul's Drag Race: Moulin Ru: The Rusical (2022)
Peak Drag Race!
I'm a huge Drag Race fan, but I've never been a fan of rusicals... until now! This is hands down the best rusical in herstory. And this episode is full of drama, I love it! This is television at its finest. Season 14 will go down as one of the best reality TV seasons in history.
Manifest: Wingman (2021)
Worst episode of the series so far
Such a filler episode. There are at least six storylines in this episode, none of which is satisfying or makes sense. The writers really don't know what to do with this show anymore.
Meitantei Conan: The Search for the Disappearing Weapon Case (1999)
Such a bad episode.
This is the worst Detective Conan episode I've seen so far (I started with the very first episode). The case is not interesting at all. It's a filler episode, that's for sure.
Manifest: Estimated Time of Departure (2019)
Season finales are supposed to answer questions, not open more new questions.
Gosh, I've never been so disappointed and frustrated with a season finale. I know this is a mystery series, and that's the reason why I endured watching the first 15 episodes in the hope that some of the questions raised throughout the season would be ultimately addressed in the final episode. But ta-da! More questions! This show is just all over the place. But I'm still gonna watch season 2 since my partner really likes this show.
Bodyguard (2018)
An outstanding drama
Definitely one of the most thrilling and compelling TV shows ever! I was moved to tears by Richard Madden's performance in the series pilot and finale. Shame that he was snubbed by the Television Academy in 2019. He was simply phenomenal as David Budd!
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
TV at its finest
An exquisitely crafted TV show. Acting, writing, music, production... every element is simply outstanding. The first two episodes and the finale are definitely some of the finest TV episodes I've ever seen so far. I finished the entire show in less than 24 hours.
Kingdom: Ashin-jeon (2021)
A gratifying sidequel
Despite some questionable artistic choices throughout the episode, Ashin of the North is an admissible sidequel that offers a concise and sharp backstory that captures the themes of betrayal, vengeance, and class struggle found in the main series. It doesn't offer the nail-biting and mind-blowing brand of horror of the first two seasons, which might not be pleasing for some fans, but it effectively serves its purpose of completing the historical and political narrative of Kingdom. It's a zombie origin story like no other.
My Day (2020)
Worst BL series ever.
Superficial story with poorly written characters played by bad actors. Not worth anyone's time.
Gameboys (2020)
Best BL series ever!
I simply don't have words to describe how amazing this series is. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I feel deeply honored that this show pushed boundaries to tell our story as a marginalized sector. It's not your typical BL series. "Gameboys" tackled important social issues such as coming out of the closet and the importance of communication in youth development. The main actors are seriously some of the best in the industry. Despite being non-LGBT, Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas portrayed their LGBT characters convincingly. Their emotional scenes are some of the best I've seen in any movie or TV show. Excellent actors.
Just watch "Gameboys." It's only 13 episodes. Really worth your time.
Canada's Drag Race: Eh-Laganza Eh-Xtravaganza (2020)
Strong queens, weak judges and production
Almost all of the queens seem to have strong personalities, but everything else about the show is off. First, the production value is low; that lighting in the work room and on the main stage is unflattering. It seemed like they've run out of overhead lights. Second, the judges are boring, especially Stacey McKenzie. They lack the chemistry that RuPaul's Drag Race judges have. Third, the placement of the queens in this episode were very questionable; those who deserved to win the challenge were only safe, and two of the three queens who placed high should definitely have been in the bottom.
The only thing that made this episode bearable was the mini-challenge.
Sugar Rush: Sweet Geeks (2018)
It was a great episode overall but the episode's winners were a disappointment.
I don't know much about baking and pastry, but I'm pretty sure that the winners of this episode should not have won. Their cake obviously had a lot of flaws while the other team's design was grand, camp, scary, fun, and meticulously made. This episode had a really interesting theme so there were very interesting products made at every stage. However, as what I've said, the judges made a mistake in the selection of this episode's winner.
Blown Away (2019)
Haters of the winner clearly don't know what art is.
This is a great show. Anyone who likes art will enjoy this. I myself am not an art enthusiast, but I really enjoyed seeing the process glass artists go through in creating their art. I have a newfound respect for glassblowers. I finished all ten episodes in one seating.
Now, regarding the winner and the overwhelmingly negative reception of viewers... it was VERY clear that it was a deserved win. The winner was both TECHNICALLY and CREATIVELY excellent throughout the show while the runner-up, despite being no. 1 in technical skills needed for glass art (as the resident judge declared), lacked outstanding artistic vision. And it showed in their final exhibit. The message and the execution of the winner's exhibit were far more superior to the runner-up's, which was plain and in-your-face. You see, art isn't just about creating something extremely precise and perfect, especially in this day and age. You need something more than that, something that will invoke a strong emotional and intellectual response from those who view your art. The winner, despite having an attitude problem, was obviously the one who had both the skills and the vision to have a public exhibit at the Corning Museum of Glass.
And to be honest, even if we considered technical sophistication alone, the winner bested the other contestant in the last two episodes.
Designated Survivor: Family Ties (2017)
A great show that has gone downhill.
Designated Survivor's first season was really promising and exciting. Although everything just seemed so familiar as if each episode was taken from either Homeland or House of Cards, each episode always surprised me (in a good way) and kept me on the edge of my seat. The second season, however, especially this episode, has just gone really awful in terms of writing. Character development has been really stagnant, and there are many unnecessary additional characters (e.g., Lyor Boone and Damian Rennett). Additionally, existing minor storylines are either uninteresting or illogical. A lot of things are happening and some of them just do not make sense at all.
