Dune: Part Two (2024)
Cinematography stands out
The greasiest strength of this film is no doubt its cinematography. Even if you're anything like me and you don't tend to enjoy science fiction movies, this one stands out for its beautiful handling of light, shades, and frame composition. While narrative elements were confusing to me (though I admit I haven't read the books, and I don't remember a lot of details from Part 1), and I was never able to fully make sense of the inner logic of this world (e.g. Limits to their technology, choices of weapons, etc.), from a purely visual standpoint, the movie is highly enjoyable. On the other hand, this movie doesn't help a great actor as Timothee Chalamet really shine. I would hope Part 3 is able to better capture the complexities of his character.

Watch the (original) Mexican version instead
I tend to really enjoy French movies, so I gave this Mexican remake a chance. Bad. Idea. The movie tries to adapt the original story into French culture but it just doesn't work. For the first hour of the movie I didn't crack a single laugh. The Mexican story on the other hand is funny from beginning to end. Don't waste your time and just watch that instead.
